When watching this movie I really related to max as well as his relationship with his father. In a way sometimes we want to be independent and cool, but sometimes parents who may seem overbearing and try to drag us down just really want to be apart of our life and approve of our choices.

Fuckin' awesome movie, i was 13 going on 14 when i saw this in theaters 2 times and loved it. It really spoke to mid-90's tweens/teens like myself back then on parent-sibling morality and i had the hots for Roxanne at that age. I bought it on video the first day and i even had wild fantasies about her at that age even in my teens, i still do think she is cute.

Oh my goodness. Now, I've listened to some of the songs recently of this movie, saw a few clips again too. But watching the trailer...THAT nearly made me tear up. I miss the 90s when good movies were made with good old fashioned drawing, even if they weren't meant to be blockbusters. I rewatched the After Today segment and thought, "Wow, this is the truest Disney's gotten to depicting high school: comic book geeks (me!), jocks, goths...amazing. Come back, Disney!
