To all the people who have been killed, maimed, crippled , disfigured or in any way affected by gun crime and now think that eliminating guns from society is the answer I have this to say. Imagine a society where it was difficult or close to impossible to obtain a gun. Just think about it for one second. Eliminating guns is not the answer. Having lots of people walking around with loaded guns is. If everyone had a loaded gun and was ready to pull it out and use it then society would be safer.

I think that that there should increased gun control across the board. I.e. in the US, break down the illegal gun networks in addition to being able to buy them with relative ease. I imagine that would take time, but that's where the US should be trying to get to. There are far too many incidents with crazy gunman in the US. Imagine a society where it was difficult or close to impossible to obtain a gun. Just think about it for one second. Eliminating guns is not the answer. I think that that there should increased gun control across the board. I.e. in the US, break down the illegal gun networks in addition to being able to buy them with relative ease. I imagine that would take time, but that's where the US should be trying to get to. There are far too many incidents with crazy gunman in the US. It doesnt really happen as much elsewhere in the world. I think crazy people having guns (legally) is as dangerous as criminals having guns (illegally). Both need control.

Take guns away and there will be a massive reduction in guns and gun crimes. Statistics show the US cannot handle weapons as a culture. Also, if it is illegal guns used in most gun crimes then you can bet they are either stolen from gun shops or from legal gun owners... why import a gun when you can simply rob one from your neighbor?! Illegal guns are classed as illegal when they do not belong to the person who used them, "stolen guns". Indeed, some WOULD get illegal weapons, but the harder it gets, the less chance of them getting one. And if your hell-bent on killing someone, you could use a kitchenknife, but if you tried a school-stabbing instead of a school-shooting you would not be as sucessful. I saw a comment on another page about an area in GB where criminals enforced their rule with meatcleavers, imagine if they could get firearms. A single example of what might have happened if someone had a gun does not prove that having guns saves lives, any more than an example of what would have happend if someone did not have a gun proves that banning guns save lives.

Her logic is that if she was allowed to carry a firearm, she could have tried to save her life. There is nothing illogical about that statement. While not often in the U.S., but in countries like Australia and the U.K. policy is dictated by singular events.

I don't feel a need to kill, I feel a need for survival and protection of my family. I have owned guns since I got my first .22 rifle when I was eight years old. I've never pointed a gun at anyone or had any kind of accident with them. I hope your'e never a victim of crime, you won't be ready.
