This works but is not permanate. If you are lucky you will get 1 or 2 more boots out of the thing. just enough to get your data off it. however if condensatoin has built up you will fry it and lose everything.

It will work but quite often only once...this is for getting those photos off the drive one last time. I have used this method for years but this is not going to restore a hard drive and when this was discovered circa 1990...no one thought this was a 'fix'.

@JDTV1995 Your being too cautious. If anything the moisture would get to it first. I've NEVER shocked anything in my entire career and broke something. Even zapped a computer with a static charge I built up once and still, no damage, odd.

While the way this was preformed, yeah not good, If you wanted to last ditch method, don't expose the drive to air. Ziplock the bag with a drive, remove as much air from bag as possible, then place in freezer. Upon removal from freezer do not remove from ziplock back, but rather put some type of cloth around the drive,and bag to hold the temp. Then cut out only the back end of the bag to expose the connectors to connect HD to CPU.Do not let in air warm humid air. AS a last ditch only method.

Wow did you see him whipping of the water condensation? That drive is not sealed it has a breather hold. Do you think that water just might condense on the platters damaging the heads. Nothing can touch the head nothing not water, your finger, a spec of dust nothing can touch them. So I think this video is a hoax so you can fuck up the heads on your drive.

NEVER TRY THIS! you create ice crystals on the platers and the motherboard of your drive, if crystals form your platers, the read heads will or could snag and damage your drives to the point of instant breakage.

I have had freezing work for a few minutes, say 20 tops) to quickly grab some text files but it is not 100% effective. Nor does it fix all problems. Also, the moment you take it out of that bag you have condensation forming which will kill the drive and nothing will work after that. So do with caution and trash the drive after. And only if you really must get the files and have no other choice.

Works 15% of the time. Good for data recovery only. Sometimes it will only boot for 5 minutes, sometimes for 30. This will not fix the hd. It will only make it boot long enough to recover data. 15% OF THE TIME! I also studied computer science and I also have an associates in ccna. So suck on that! BITCHES.

Just because this didn't work for yours doesn't mean it will not for anyone. There is more than one way a HD can fail. Also, this isn't intended to fix the HD, just get it up long enough to get data off, then can it.

An additional option is to put it in the microwave for 10 minutes on full power. It also doesn't recover your data, but it will make some nice light-effects.

Don't believe any of this!!!! If your hard drive has failed it will stay failed, freezing, what a load of rubbish. It's been tried and tested and it doesn't work.
