Yes, Fedor is fat chicken, his footwork is bad, his hooks are terrible. I am quite puzzled why in the hell UFC wanted him so bad that they offer him more money that they can make and after 30 fights still no taught guy who be able to beat him. Weak up morons!

It's amazing he has not gotten knocked out yet based on how wide his hooks are when punching a bag. It was like watching an amatuer hitting a punching bag. I guess his timing and speed enable him to get away with these mistakes.

In MMA its typically the unorthodox punches that do the most damage. Fighters with a traditional boxing background are not used to the looping punches; plus they generate more leverage.

Nope, that is not accurate. Traditional boxer keep their hands tighter because they are more effecient and are able to defend themselves better. I watch mma, I'm not just coming from boxing standpoint. Their is a correct way to do things and wrong way. Doesn't necessarily mean you won't find success if you are able to pick up on other aspects of the game.

The problem with keeping your hands tighter is it becomes more difficult to defend a takedown. Arlovski has very good boxing skills, and it didn't serve him well in his fight against Fedor or Rogers. Chuck Liddell has sloppy standup, yet he has had a lot of success. Krazy Horse KO'd technical boxer KJ Noons. It's mainly about the unorthodox angles.

Based on that logic mma schools across the globe should be teaching sloppy boxing. Arlovski was caught doing a jumping knee , bad example. It doesn't matter how good your boxing is you will get hit, as did Andrei against rogers.

Chuck liddell had success because he was able to take 3 punches to take one. Most of his opponent weren't world beaters on their feet. Now that lidell can no longer take those punches he is gettin knocked out as a result of lack of defense.

Oh, I forgot to mention. When I meant tigher I meant when throw his hooks. When he throws his hooks they are looping which makes its easier to be countered. This is boxing 101.

Arlovski's technical boxing did nothing to Fedor in the standup. Everyone was talking about how Fedor was going to have to take it to the ground be be successful; that didn't happen. The reason why traditional boxing or kickboxing is not as successful in MMA has to do with the base. The threat of the takedown really does alter the fighting stance and style. One doesn't have the luxury to be flat footed and have a narrower base. This does affect leverage/torque & overall delivery of the punch.

Okay, you obviously don't know what your talking about or did not see the fight. A flying knee is not a part of boxing and leaves you open to the punch he got knocked out with. I understand the issues with boxing and kickboxing as it pertains but their are mma fighter with better boxing skills as far as fundamentals are concerned that have great takedown defenses.

I did see the fight. Arlovski showed no dominance in the standup (where as a technical boxer he was supposed to have the advantage). Prior to the flying knee Andrei was not having much success with his boxing.

I guess we were watching different fights. The fight I was watching only had fedor landing one punch which was the knockout punch. Fedor looked completely lost on his feet.

I don't think Fedor looked lost at all. The fight started off with both fighters trying to gauge the distance and establish some sort of rhythm. The majority of Arlovski's punches were either blocked or parried by Fedor. After the long clinch Fedor changed his strategy to counter fighter.

I also like to add, even if someone is a technical boxer it does preclude them from being knocked out by a good pucher, it just suppose to lessen the chances. It only takes one shot.

mark hunt gave harder time for fedor. much much harder time. watch fedor carefully against arlovski. fedor dodged, defended most of arlovski's punches. arlovski didn't land a single punch or kick that effected fedor. And other thing, arlovski was on a winning strike before fighting fedor. arlovski was the most reasonable guy for fedor to face at the time. now people talk shit, cuz fedor won.
