It's not egotistical to derive what we refer to as universal laws. Science makes the best hypothesis to match the observations we see, then substantiate it further into a theory as new evidence comes to light. But all of these theories are subject to change, as new evidence is inevitably presented over time, the model will be adjusted to account. This is not a weakness, it collates current understanding and permits it to be embellished or even falsified if we have it wrong; it's self-correcting.
Galileo, Copernicus and all used the scientific method to discover things that went against the public, not scientific, understanding of the world at the time. The people thought the earth was the centre because they saw the sun go round us and jumped to the conclusion. Evolution was discovered through the same rigorous scientific methodology that heliocentrism was discovered by, subjected to peer-review, testing and over 150 years of research. It's very much a round-earth theory by this point.
I don't think that those particular laws could just change. There has to be some universe constants. But you are correct that science does change it's views.
For example, most Europeans actually knew about the round earth before Christopher Columbus, even the Greek knew it. And Egyptians believed on a flat earth.
Also, because we are not sure of something (which we are pretty much, you don't really have to be on a planet to estimate gravity, there's other forms of measurement) it doesn't render it as fake. It's like religious gnosticism.

The whole reason it's called dark matter is that we don't know how it works or even if it exists. It's a term scientists use for saying "this formula works only if we add extra mass but in every other aspect it's perfect". Hopefully you're right and they will figure out what the issue is, or rather what the variable causing this discrepancy is. Dark matter is not a "Flat Earth" idea because scientists know it's not an explanation, but just a placeholder, till we can figure it out.

@dabbiii continuing from previous-> you cannot see the great wall of china from where i live because it's 180 degrees from where i live. that means it's on the opposite side of the world. the time difference is 12 hours. in fact that's another factor why the earth is curved. it's called time zones and angles of locations i.e. latitudes and longitudes. also gravity occurs when a mass is essentially curved. this is what general relativity says. if the earth was flat there would be no gravity.
You could not robably not zoom on a special building you would like to see or a special place if you had enough zoom, ofcourse of all the objects in front of those that would block it from the camera.
You will probably never have that good zoom lens to test this for your self, but personally I believe and my senses tells me if you had a lens that could digital zoom forever or very long with good focus you will always see landscape.

In fact, a scientist can get just as much credit for discrediting a theory as he can for "proving" it. I'm going to be fair here: I think your heart is in the right place, and some of the points you make are good ones. However, I think you are slightly misguided on the subject of science. The examples you give: both "flat earth" worldview and "hysteria", are ideas that came down from pre-science and had become entrenched in religious and philosophical dogma. Science rejects dogma, science is based around rigorous testing and a WILLINGNESS to reject old ideas if they are shown to be wrong...

It's not egotistical to derive what we refer to as universal laws. Science makes the best hypothesis to match the observations we see, then substantiate it further into a theory as new evidence comes to light. But all of these theories are subject to change, as new evidence is inevitably presented over time, the model will be adjusted to account. This is not a weakness, it collates current understanding and permits it to be embellished or even falsified if we have it wrong; it's self-correcting.

Galileo, Copernicus and all used the scientific method to discover things that went against the public, not scientific, understanding of the world at the time. The people thought the earth was the centre because they saw the sun go round us and jumped to the conclusion. Evolution was discovered through the same rigorous scientific methodology that heliocentrism was discovered by, subjected to peer-review, testing and over 150 years of research. It's very much a round-earth theory by this point.

This guy has a lot of facts wrong.
For example, most Europeans actually knew about the round earth before Christopher Columbus, even the Greek knew it. And Egyptians believed on a flat earth.
Also, because we are not sure of something (which we are pretty much, you don't really have to be on a planet to estimate gravity, there's other forms of measurement) it doesn't render it as fake. It's like religious gnosticism.

Seriously, like other viewers have pointed out, dark matter is just an unknown element in the equation. They aren't sure what it is yet and thats why its called dark matter instead of something else.

The whole reason it's called dark matter is that we don't know how it works or even if it exists. It's a term scientists use for saying "this formula works only if we add extra mass but in every other aspect it's perfect". Hopefully you're right and they will figure out what the issue is, or rather what the variable causing this discrepancy is. Dark matter is not a "Flat Earth" idea because scientists know it's not an explanation, but just a placeholder, till we can figure it out.

wow dude you really don't understand do you? Dark matter doesn't come from simply filling an equation, it's as simple as measuring gravity from an area that doesn't reflect light. Hence Dark Matter. You should explore these ideas before you offer an opinion on them. Also I don't know one physicist that would claim that we have all this figured out. You seem to know they are wrong with gravity, why not step up and tell someone where they went wrong?

in fact if the earth was flat with no obstacles obstructing your view, you could essentially see everything on Earth with telescopes or binoculars i.e. sears tower, Appalachian mountains, mount everest, etc. this is not the case. also the reason it appears "flat" is because the local area in which you live is so small compared to the gigantic surface area of the Earth. your local area is also referred to as the differential area. think of drawing really tiny squares over a basketball.

@dabbiii keep dreaming. even with the most powerful telescope you would never see any of those structures with a clear view. in fact the best spot to see these structures would be on top of a mountain which i happen to live not too far from. i've been there lots of times and obviously i cannot see any of those structures. why? because the earth is spherical not flat. it only appears flat because the differential area in which you live is so small compared to the surface area of the earth.

@dabbiii yeah whatever keep dreaming again. even with most powerful zoom lens invented you will see landscape. yes i agree with that. but you will not see the target that you're aiming for such as the great wall of china. why? because the earth eventually does curve. the curvature and angle of curvature would be far too great to see anything at these distances. you would need satellite images to see this from my location. and angle of the great wall from where i live is about 180 degrees.

@dabbiii continuing from previous-> you cannot see the great wall of china from where i live because it's 180 degrees from where i live. that means it's on the opposite side of the world. the time difference is 12 hours. in fact that's another factor why the earth is curved. it's called time zones and angles of locations i.e. latitudes and longitudes. also gravity occurs when a mass is essentially curved. this is what general relativity says. if the earth was flat there would be no gravity.

You could not robably not zoom on a special building you would like to see or a special place if you had enough zoom, ofcourse of all the objects in front of those that would block it from the camera.
You will probably never have that good zoom lens to test this for your self, but personally I believe and my senses tells me if you had a lens that could digital zoom forever or very long with good focus you will always see landscape.

GPS works not just by an electronic signal or satellite transmission but they also calculate your position by using geocentric satellites and trig to figure out a person's latitude and longitude. how would they refute this? they couldn't. it's a known fact that these satellites calculate latitude and longitude.

Most new knowledge does come about painfully, but with advancement in science, our means of evaluation improve and our understanding does generally get more accurate.
Re. dark matter and dark energy, I have seen some of the evidence and I am not impressed, either. I believe cosmology and theoretical physics have just about hit the wall and to justify their careers, some scientists have gone overboard with reckless speculation. It isn't because of out lack of understanding of gravity, IMO.

The first premise of your video is wrong. One of the greatest misbeliefs in history is the idea that Europeans thought the Earth was flat. But, they have pretty uniformly believed in a spherical earth since the Early Middle Ages and it had been a well known and often adopted theory since Ancient Greece, where Pythagorus determined that the Earth was a sphere by observing Eclipses and where Eratosthenes first estimated the circumference of the Earth in 240 BCE.
