Because a lot of historians are afraid that their publications will be used by ultra nationalist, right-wing politicians in Europe. But, genocide and murder is common in most cultures. @ImperialGuard9001 I think it more has to do with the fact that economically, the Muslim world was better off than the Christian world at this time. The Ottomans had a unified empire that pretty much rivaled Rome. They controlled enough trade and had enough wealth to have a somewhat better quality of life for average people. It's not that Europe didn't have civilization, its just that the Muslim world had an economically "healthier" civilization.
