Thanks for the review. I have a question for you! Just out of curiosity- which do you feel is the best compact survival kit? I see this kit is short of a few important items ike heliograph, tinder, waterproof matches, condom etc.
c'mon, this is a joke isn't it? is that paper and pencil for making your own tombstone in the wilderness? take only this kit with you on a full day and night out in the woods and see how well you "survive"
And also you will need to know how to track and set them, as well the kit is only at good as the person using it, it is useless if you don't know what you are doing
I'd like to see a video of someone actually catching something with snare wire. Will it can surely be done, it just seems that you'd need to set a number of traps to raise the odds of getting any game.
they also have a much cheaper one, with just a few items missing from this but with some other things like waterproof matches and 2 condoms. i personally would buy that one, and with the money you save add some items. if the blade is dull, besides carrying a main knife and multitool, i guess you could just sharpen it before then put it back in. you should always check what is inside and read manuals when you buy a kit anyways. thinkgs like needles & thread, safetypins etc is cheap.
Everyone talks about carrying a condom for water but no one says how to fill it without a faucet. I have tried several ways to fill using streams, rivers, lakes, and even a waterfall, none of these worked. Can you do a vid on how to fill the condom in the field?
I got this. Had to replace the knife with a larger one as the one included is so small and blunt. I also added some plasters, tampon for tinder a condom and some more water purification tablets.
SO glad I subscribed! I'm loving every bit of your videos! I'm hoping to do a thru hike of the AT in the next couple years. All this info is wonderful! Looking forward to more.
i got the older cersion of this, its really good, i added a few thing to it to make it better, like a survival blanket, better knife, light my fire firesteel, cotton wool balls, plaster(bandaids), the glue you get from a bike uncture repair kit(works really well with the firesteel. great review:)

@FnaT100
i bought this kit the blade is useless, i replaced the knife with a kershaw, but you can replace it with just about anything, as it would be better.

You could boil a little water in the tin too. The little tea light aluminum holder could be a little alcohol stove if ya ad rubbing alcohol.
The wax paper is a wonderful idea.
