  • It is really fancy. i like them.

  • I SAW PAUL LIVEEEE!! just sayin... :D

  • This sounds in a different key....

    Right, Ok.

  • @edro1333, that's sad news. I never had the pleasure to meet him. My condolences to his family and friends.

  • lefty pauls are rare

  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!

Are these guys going to be playing soon, near my neck of the woods, here in So.Cal?

  • I just went to see these guys the other night! I got front row seats and all their autographs!

  • They are called "1964-The Tribute"

  • it has to be a pain in the ass to find someone who is left handed plays the bass looks like Paul McCartney and has a good voice

  • @sgtmjames You've probably seen this info elsewhere but Gary Grimes (Paul) taught himself to play left handed for authenticity. As a guitarist, I can't imagine that. Sadly, Gary has passed away last Monday, Dec. 13th, 2010. he will be missed not only as one of the two remaining original members of "1964" but one of the nicest gentlemen you could ever meet. Rest in Peace Gary.

  • @edro3111 Oh no! I had the pleasure of meeting these guys in Poplar Bluff MO back around '03. Great show, and Gary was a very nice guy. SO sorry to hear that.

  • I think on the real version, Paul and George play harmony notes individually. In this band, George does both parts

  • @veganandy Actually, George double-tracked it.

  • for real paul had to actully do this lead on this song!

  • I feel sorry for anybody who has to fulfill the role of George Harrison in any of these Beatles Tribute bands---very hard to do and a hard act to follow. George was the best!

  • The best tribute group there is...

  • THESE GUYS ARE THE ONLY BEATLE BAND THAT CAN REPRODUCE THIS SONG LIVE, EVEN G HARRISON DOUBLE TRACKED THE SOLO, THIS GUY PLAYS THE DOUBLE LEADS HIMSELF. VERY IMPRESSIVE. AND THE LOOK, AND PERSONALITY IS REALLY CAPTURED, RIGHT ON. GREAT JOB GUYS. (I was in one of the first beatle bands in the 70's Blackbird from Illinois. We were quite good, but you guys kick all of our butts.) I'm happy about it. ) I saw you about 10 years ago in Illinois. Excellent then, and still now! Scott Jensen

  • There's a Japanese Beatles tribute band called The Parrots (Yes, Japanese) that are phenomenal. They can't even speak english well but they absolutely NAIL Beatles covers.

  • The McCartney guy shouldnt be singing on the first two lines of the first two verses. It's Lennon on his own.

  • you´re right , but is like the anthology version..in that version Paul sings like this guy does.

  • The Fab Faux may be the best "non look-alike" Beatle tribute band, but you get no sense at all of seeing the Beatles...it's just a concert of Beatle music. The real genius and greatness is with a band like this that can capture the true spirit and looks and personalities. It adds SO much more to the experience.

  • "Just a concert of Beatles music" Man, that must really suck! If you're into Halloween and post mortem, Vampire kinda silly nonesense, I guess you're right. But, If you're into musicianship, The Fab Faux are the way to go---especially since they don't engender or encourage the "Screaming Meemie Females" that ruined The Beatles live performances. But I have no strong opinions on this issue!

  • The Fab Faux are technically perfect but can be really boring to sit and watch (absolutely NO visuals there) and you get no feeling of what the Beatles were like or how they acted or performed.

1964 brings you right back to the real thing

  • OK, we disagree and that's fine. Either way---good music, nicely performed.

  • @veganandy the faux give the best sonic recreation. they have 4 guitars going at the same time, sometimes. a song like this needs at least 3.

  • @veganandy

Seeing Paul live brings you back to the real thing.

  • Not bad, but the Fab Faux are the gold standard.

  • Other than the fact that the guitars should be Casinos, this one is amazing.

  • the guy playing george's part needs to turn his geee tar up a tad

  • That's a tough lick- it's almost all double-stops... He does a reasonably good job. Nice vintage Vox tone...

  • I'd love to see this band!

  • The "George" did all the work on this one.

  • Good lead guitar!

  • Awesome performance

  • I left out *dont*

  • The guy doing George is impressive but it's got be played with an overdrive pedal to get that dirty sound. They do these songs from their middle period and they just have the balls that these songs need.

  • It's funny. After all these years and different concerts I've been to - not as many as I make it sound - one of the best concerts I went to was a Beatles tribute band called Revolution They were great! The teenage girls that came with their moms were standing on the seats in the back row - it was only a 350 seat auditorium - and dancing like there was no tomorrow! We don't get too many acts like this out my way. I'd have loved to heard these guys live.

  • When doing this song with one lead guitar, you have to play double stops, and some of them on the original are impossible with one guitar to recreate note for note.

My hat is off to anyone who can gets respectably close to it, like these guys.

  • @Soujurn What are double stops?

  • @Soujurn They could have used the 12 string.

  • you lads are great!!!

  • you try this for 25 yrs, it is not easy but the money is amazing

  • Jimmy Poe tackles this tough song with ease.Loved playing the Britbeat show with ya..............

  • Excellent ,great job! nowjun626 ,they really stink!

  • Wish they had filmed the bass rumble at song's end.

  • you would thought its the real beatles, very nice

  • wow... good performance... but sound is not so good though...

  • i like the way the ven copied their stances. very good

  • The BEatles had a bass, a lead guitar, and rhythm. There is no 3rd guitar. ever.

    and this isnt the Beatles.

  • you know , Sir george Martin and BonJovi and ACDC and many others love them so , untill you have done it and get all the big stars to love, and respect you as a musician you keep your crappy comments to yourself,,, can you sell out Shea stadium and 30,000 seat venues?

  • as a guitar player I have always been fascinated by the odd way John Lennon strums. He strums from the wrist only. Possibly this unique habit had something to do with how beautifully he plays rythm guitar.

  • wait...okay, now looking closer to this video... they dont..is this even the beatles?!??

  • omg this looks like someone recorded this on their cell phone hahaha!!! i love it <33

AAHHH!!!!! i freaking love the BEATLES!!!!!! couldn't live without them

  • Beatles tribute bands are a weird thing. I mean on one hand its great to keep the music alive...but at times it becomes a parody. I think Lennon might have felt sorry for anyone involved in one. The wigs, the exact guitars, the exact amps. Maybe do the Liverpool accent. I have mixed emotions about it all. And I love the Beatles.

  • I agree...this band is incredible

  • I dont know what these people below me just heard, but these guys just NAILED that tune.

A perfect simulation-just without the triple lead guitar overdubs. This George nailed the solo. Perfectly.

  • 1964 Tribute is name of the band...

  • good performance, although i didnt like the drums... too much drums for this song

  • This is making me sick.

  • I thought the lead breaks were brilliant considering the fact that the original has three lead guitars playing a la Allman Bros.

  • I love this band and have seen them in concert about a dozen times, but "George" always seems to have a hard time nailing the solo on this song. I haven't bought their CD so I don't know if the recorded version is any better. Presumably it is.

  • for 98% of the world....it's just fine ....go see them.....they sound great in concert ....one of the best .....I've seen most.

  • Considering that The (real) beatles played this with three guitar parts (two lead, one rythm) and these guys played with it two (one lead, one rythm) this is impressive.

  • no. john and george did a dueling lead guitar intro, when the intro is over john jumped right into the rhythm. the two lead and rhythm never all played at the same time. i have the complete score to all the beatles songs, thats how i would know this.

  • Well, that's the way it sounds on the record, but hey, you have the score so what would I know?

  • who knows? maybe they played one way on the record and another in concert/the way it was wrote down.

no one can be sure except for the beatles themselves.

  • Yeah.

  • The Bootleg Beatles are a good UK tribute band.

  • The Fab Faux sound like a typical bar band trying to cover the Beatles. Any group of good musicians can sound as good as the Fab Faux. NO ONE performs the Beatles material live as good as these guys.

  • The Fab Faux are the real deal.

  • Very good performance, but the lead guitar seems to have a bit of trouble getting it down just pat. Although no one can get it down "just pat". Good job.

  • Very Nice!

  • 1964 is amazing!!

Seen them 5 times so far and will always go when they are in town.

As a huge Beatle fan I will say that they do the songs incredibly well live.

Remember that the Beatles live diDnt need to sound perfect like the albums because they were the freaking Beatles and if you saw them live you didnt care. But 1964 has to nail it everytime just like the album version that they are covering.

What they are doing is great and they do it great.

    THE BEATLES FOR EVER!!!!!

  • I like 8 Days A Week, the Beatles tribute band out of Cincinatii, Ohio. I saw them in Michigan City Indiana and they rocked. But I asked about this tune and they didn't do it. Said they planned to work it up.

  • great try, need a bit more Beatles practice...

  • the audio on these "1964" clips suck. ive seen these guys 5 times. they really nail it.

listen to "john" sing "this boy". amazing!

  • YOU NEED 2 GUITARS TO DO IT PROPERLY

  • how many guitars are there then? count.

  • No, he means two lead guitars. In total, three guitars are playing on the record -- two lead and one rhythm.

  • well I heard many many beatles bands playing at Liverpool Beatles festival ( anybody went there? ) and heard lotta bands playing Beatles songs quite well but for an american band they are really the best especially 4 the songs from early 60's - rememeber guys: nobody can be the Beatles! some of 'em can play and imitate very well in sounds and postures and voices but all of them remain an imitation! dont pretend to much!

  • Hello smenne67 !!! I fully agree with your comment. No mather how good or bad you can play a Beatles song, there's always somebody somewhere to give his opinion.

  • good song but they wrecked it

  • wrong they did paperback writer which was recorded during the revolver sessions.but as usual the format was to pick 2 songs from the album sessions and release for a single and that just happened to be one.but still part of revolver.just like strawberry fields and penny lane were part of sgt pepper.

  • not the best solo guitar i've heard...missed a lot

  • I saw them in Chicago and to be honest, they sucked. Well I could not tell you, couldn't hear them! I honestly doubt they heard themselves. The monitors were junk and almost non-exsistent! Peace

  • Ya dijit? So is yo mama. I'm repulsive because I called the fab faux a bar band? That's all they really are. I have heard better musicians locally who sound better doing Beatles covers. Any competent musicians could do what they do. Check more of the video of them on youtube. At times they are downright sloppy with flat vocals. Get Back:The Cast Of Beatlemania is another tribute band that blows fab faux out of the water musically.

  • pretty good. i'd still say the cavern beatles are the best tribute i've heared so far. meanwhile, i'll check out the fab fox

  • These guys are just another typical tribute band. They're good and all, but they do all the obvious stuff. Fab Faux does everything.

  • Great work. Vocals are perfect and the guitar solo throughout the song is amazing.

  • Great guitar work on a very, very difficult song to play. Who really cares if they are tuned down a half-step?

    Super band ...

  • Good work great music keep up your good job

  • I don't think the Beatles themselves ever played this one live, did they? This is a Revolver track...

  • Fantastic!

    Congrats for the nice job!

  • The Fab Faux? Those guys sound like a bar band covering Beatles songs. They're a dime a dozen.

  • I took a look at allot of videos of other Tribute Bands and found them to be in Tune,I don't think Video speed has anything to do with it.Their a perfect Half step down.

  • Great Band,But why are they Tuned Down a Half step? Can't they sing in the Original Keys?

  • Good question. Could it be the video is wrong speed or do you think they are tuned down?

  • I know Mark Benson or "John", he's been to my house to buy an old amp. They do tune down a half step. It saves your voice, plus if you listen to the first Sullivan show The Beatles are tuned down also. Not on purpose, but in those days there were no tuners and probably didn't have a pitchfork. So hey, E flat it is.

  • No one does it as well over all as these guys.

  • 3 words: The Fab Faux....

  • no one tops 1964, even the faux...

  • are they still playing? where can i catch them?

  • fantastic, i cant work out which is better, 1964 tribute or fab four??

  • I've seen both 8 or 9 times each...and both are amazing!

  • 1964 may have been around the longest and are quite good but I think The Fab Four are definitely better as is Tim Piper's Working Class Hero/Revolution. The Fabs are the best, though.
