  • M Audio BX8's? How do you like them?

  • i recommend the app caffeine in the mac app store it makes it so the screen never dims and you don't have to move the trackpad while mixing it reduces accidents alot

  • crazy setup man

  • @xXDeejayIonXx The cues you have stored are shared between Serato and the CDJs. The cdjs don't need anything installed to work. They are MIDI controllers and automatically mapped to serato. It's very important that you use the latest firmware for both Serato and your cdjs. Look at my moat recent video to see how to update your firmware on the cdjs. You can easily google instructions to step you through how to get serato to recognize your cdjs.

  • so for serato and cdj 2000 u cant use the cus and play button or know you can? and what do u need to install serato to cdj 2000? please help me out aoki first time mixing at a club and need some tips respond back i suscribed to your channel

  • 7:30 is PHAT!!!

  • the 2000 are beautiful just over priced in my opion

  • I know everyone is commenting on your gear. but seriously. Very nice gear, and wonderful mix.

  • VERY NICE SET UP, A CUSTOM MADE DECK STAND WOULD FINISH THE JOB :)

  • nice sepup

  • Tight set-up..digital is the future..great stuff.

  • nice bloody set up mate :)

  • @fordfocusboy27 cheers! I work for Ford btw. Time to bring the Focus RS to the states!

  • Nice set up and decent set too. :D

  • Similar story for me too man:) I got the 2000's now and am awaiting the djm 2000. I spin all by myself all the time:) "Life from the basement" LOL. I like your track selection.

  • rich bastard

  • how come you have paid for serato when the cdjs will play from usb and share a usb? still thought stunning set up! haha very expensive

  • I love your set up man...

  • could you share the artist/name of the track being played at 3:50?

    btw, the xone rocks!

  • @undertheosea It's "Treibjagd" by AM-Concept. You can find it on Beatport. And yes...I love that Xone!

  • Man, you have such nice gear:) Wish i had that kinda money but im still in school so thats a bummer:L I use Serato and technics, looking to get some CDJs in the future but god damn i love my technics still. I wanna take the CDJ route but im never letting go of them:) Just need some money i guess......

  • @wildey212 My setup is completely unnecessary. You only need two decks and a mixer...always. I dealt with simply two turntables for 8 years. It wasn't until later in life that I started accumulating equipment and started finding new ways to combine deck mixing enhanced with computers.

If you are looking to go digital, a simple laptop and Serato is a great start. You can still keep your decks AND play your digital tracks.

  • @djaoki Cheers man, i will keep that in mind great skills by the way!

  • I bought my CDJ 2000's so that I could get away from using software. I've used Traktor with other equipment, but love the software-like options the 2000's give me. I felt I was getting caught up with the whole software sync thing and was losing my beat matching skills. The CDJ 2000 has made it fun for me again.

  • Traktor is great, but you are 100% correct. If you have your software matching beats for you, your beatmatching ability becomes rusty. Consistent beat-matching is not like riding a bike. It needs attention to stay on point.

  • Nice setup, I've been using Vinyl for the past 15 years & nw im really contemplating on moving to the "DIGITAL DARKSIDE" as the saying goes, there are so many CDJ decks to choose from "800's 900's 1000's MK2 + MK3 & now the CDJ 2000's. Any particular reason you choose the CDJ 2000's or was the spec exactly what you were looking for ? Where did you get them from & at what price ?

  • Luke, come to the dark side! I was fighting the digi-revolution forever. Now I've jumped feet first. My best recommendation if you don't wish to lose the vinyl feel is to go with Serato and Technics. If you go the CDJ route, then Serato and the 1000 MK3s (2000s are overkill if used w/ Serato because the screen is somewhat useless when using your computer). I chose the 2000s so that I can bring my decks to a gig and still carry my music on USB. Continued below...

  • are you getn latancy ?

  • No latency. The only time I get some latency is if I have a lot of processes running in the background or if I try using Serato to play a cd that is in the disc drive on the laptop.

  • wow nice, nice and deep, i like it. Nice and relaxing :)

  • I don't quite understand. Why arn't you using the CDJs at midi controllers or using them in HID mode? Then you won't have to worry about the SSL discs.

  • How do I do that?

  • Treat the player as you would any other USB midi controller. Plug it into the computer via USB, and then as long as you macbook recognizes the midi profile, you may then press the midi button in Scratch Live and strt programing buttons. I am not really sure on the full process as I am a vinyl guy as well, and I don't have CDJs yet. Good luck, maybe someone else can help you further.

  • @RRollergod Thanks! I figured out how to get it wired up, but serato isn't compatible with the cdjs yet. Just made a vid about it cause of your advice!

  • Sadly enough, HID mode is not available with Serato yet. It currently only works with Traktor.

It's up to Serato to add HID native support for the CDJ 2000 in the next firmware update. Tick tock...

  • Thanks! You got me thinking and I did some research. Serato and Ableton are working together on a product that incorporates both technologies. I am working on a way to use the ableton effects processors with the serato contols. Siiiiiick!

  • your setup is sickkk.. but i think something as beautiful as a xone 92 should be used with ableton for its full potential... have you thought of giving that a shot?

  • If you want more control with your CDJ 2000 use the Hid mode it will negate the use for timcode bro. just get a usb hub plug in the two cdj and map one two left and the other two right. And that's it.

  • Whoa....pardon my ignorance. How does this work?

  • Send me your email and I will explain everything in detail and the arrival of Bridge will make life a dream, I am just like you man, My wife thinks I am crazy.

  • @farrell1971 I figured out how to wire everything up, but serato and the cdj 2000 won't communicate until serato updates the firmware.

  • @farrell1971 Btw...there is nothing crazy about being passionate about something. My gf says if there is one thing you should spend money on, it's your passion! Thanks so much and stay in touch!

  • Ha ha! Thx...I'll add some dirt to the next mix.

  • Thought you were a grime Dj

    ?

    nice mix though
