The Mercedes Unimog is not a tractor. It even won an award (with the G class) a few weeks ago from OFFROAD MAGAZINE. Both the G class and Unimog have won constant awards for offroading qualities in that magazine for decades. Where's the Landcruiser? The Land Rover Defender is very reliable. Simple technology. You're confusing it with the Range Rover. The Montero is not underpowered. Power is largely irrelevant out in the desert/jungle etc. Shows how much you know about off roading...

That's a myth. It might work "better" for an SUV as lower pressured tires in that environment will have a bit more surface friction (grip) but for a normal FWD and RWD sedan this technique won't work at all.

The hummer of the same age as the 200 series has factory lockers. For that reason i believe a H3 would out 4wd a 200 but a JK jeep wrangler with its factory automatic lockers but with live/solid axles would out 4wd them both, same with the new patrol.

The land cruiser is the only SUV that never lost its credibility as an off roader as it became more luxurious over the years. Nearly everything else has. The H2 is completely useless both on road and off and the H1 only works in wide open spaces where its massive turning radius wont be a problem. The H2 a facade meant for upscale neighborhoods in America, while some land cruisers have never seen paved roads and are quite fine in those environments.
