i just need to really find out if im doing thing's correctly by working this way and using my head, and not bugging everybody along my way of teaching one's self. THANKS AGAIN
Hi Lee, iv just gotten a bit better over the past few weeks and have one question i need answering from you, 'How long does it take you to remeber a full song without making misstakes'. i'm estimating for myself about 8 months to be able to play and rember note passages and then another good 8 months to get vibrato where it's needed and wah wahs for flavour {TIMING I NEED TO MASTER YET THO}. i hope this does not sound to stupid but this year im going to learn EASY by walter hornton
@hohner2010 I don't think you can frame learning in this way. Is it helpful to define things in this way anyway. How long it will take to learn something depends on the individual and things like how much they practise. It may take 8 months, it may take longer. Who knows. In my view it takes approximately 10 years to become a decent player, but this is very crude and subjective. It is more productive simply to practise and enjoy the journey rather than trying to set all these milestones
@leesankeygroup ......Trying to learn Easy by Big Walter is a great idea. It has many signature components of blues harp. Go for it! It may take 8 months, it may take years. One thing I do guarantee, just when you think you have understood the tune you will the next second realise you haven't. In the end we never stop learning. Warm regards, Lee
@leesankeygroup - Yes im with you i understand that boardom might come and kick me if i feel as tho im in a class room... i'm doing an experiment on my self for this new year i'm going to get Easy {walter horton} stuck into my head but also i need to learn the timing this is hard to seperate away from playing and the lossing your foot tap or visa versa.. i will do as you preach and enjoy the harps i have and just grit and bear the 10 year lol can't wait to play with a band.
Lee...just an FYI...my comment that your playing was, "over the top" was saying your playing was great. Your videos have really help inspired me to advance my playing techniques. Thats for everything and happy new year!!!!
@jazztime99 Ah I see, you meant in that sense. O.k good to know. Wonderful to hear you are inspired by my videos, doesn't get better than that. Cheers and all the best for 2012. Lee
@jazztime Yeah I can see that, but that's how I felt at the time. It's Christmas after all. With a band or a different day I probably would play the solo part differently. Lee
AWESOME!!
