i play bass in Sound Detour, most of what i like to do is catchy bass rhythem. i have a few bass solos here and there, most like the bands on this video. j-rock bands have soo much funk that i just can't get enough. for any1 thats looking to play bass. look for Bootsy Collins and Stanley Clark** then incorporate that into rock and see what you get

Should check out some Maximum the Hormone ;) Ue has some nice bass bits, he's like the japanese Flea. Even uses Modulus Flea basses too so I guess RHCP is a huge influence on him? :P Anyway check them out xD

I won't call most of those clips "bass solos" anyway it's amazing how in the japanese music the bass is kept so much in consideration.

The great thing is that with so little technique those bass players can create great riffs.
