  • Am I allowed to rave about the UV Essentiel? I tried the Kiehl's for a few weeks - but that really irritated my skin. The UV Essentiel has Zinc Oxide which my skin loves. But dear Lord, why so expensive Chanel? =D. Thank you for directing me to this sunscreen! <3

  • @juujubez I know, right?? All the good ones are expensive. I actually used up my UV Essential and now I'm using La Mer's.. which you should try next :) You're welcome <3

  • Would you still recommend the Kiehls sunscreen? Is it your HG? I'm looking for an HG sunscreen :)

  • @hello2ume The Kiehl's is HG for the price. My personal HG is La Mer's Sunscreen because it also works as a face primer!

  • @xanteigravy Thank you very much for such a sincere comment :) I will! <3

  • You're so sweet! -3

  • You look so sweet! -3 Thanks!

  • @sw3ety4u82 Thank you ^.^

  • I was also disappointed with the Dior Aloha because it chips so easily. Great video and excellent advice. Thank you!

    Lesley, England.

  • @JoelKlaff Glad I'm not the only crazy one who ended up with chips! Thanks for watching, Lesley :)

  • RAE! I know you used to use Shiseido's Sun Protection powder, but have you ever tried the liquid foundation? If not, you should totally try it! It's even more lightweight than VLA because it comes out like water instead of a gel-cream formula yet it has nearly full coverage. The spf in it is also really high so it saves you the trouble of an additional spf :).

    <3

  • @AZNess312 Yes, I do :) I like it! I always wear it to the beach hehe

  • @RAEview Me tooooo :D

    <3

  • Rae I just love your channel!!! I was just wondering if you will ever do a makeup collection&storage video?! I think it would be so interesting because you have so much nicer stuff than most 'in love with mac' makeup gurus here on youtube:)!!!

    xxx

  • @lisainlalaland Possibly.. I just don't want to deal with annoying comments about how I'm "bragging" LOL

  • hi rae! I've been loving your channel ever since i saw it like a month ago! ( i wished i discovered it earlier though =( ) anyway, your videos are so informative! it can really benefit a lot of women. BTW, i just want to ask you something about this product of nail polish that i have been using. I'm currently using ORLY (im not sure if it's an american or asian brand). what do you think about it?

  • @redjinie Thank you! Some of my favorite colors are from Orly - the formula wears well - but my favorite polish brands are Deborah Lippmann and Chanel :)

  • hi. have you tried YSL Teint Resist Foundation? do you prefer this or the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua?

  • @blueterfly88 As much as I love the Teint Resist, I prefer the VA :)

  • @RAEview Nice I was just deciding between the two. I find they are both lighter foundations, but YSL T.R you

  • @RAEview Nice I was just deciding between the two. I find they are both lighter foundations, but YSL T.R you need so much product it is insane and then it looks flat!!

  • @amazingyummy2 Aww, I just use it on days when I need light coverage :) The VA is definitely more buildable than the TR!

  • You look so pretty in this video. : )

  • hey RAE, what primer do you use for the vital Aqua? I have dry skin and oily T-zone..great vidS I love how informative you are, not like other gurus.

  • @kikiLegit I personally do not use a primer with the foundation, just my Benefit Emulsion, but you should probably use a primer like Smashbox's Photofinish Light - nothing too heavy :)

  • @RAEview hey girl thanks for replying, I'm going to try it with and with out primer, but I'm dealing with acne rite now do u think I will break out more not using a primer?

  • @kikiLegit Hmm.. if you have very sensitive skin, try using a primer that you know your skin won't react negatively to :) I can't promise you anything because I don't know what your skin is like!

  • I love watching your product recommendations. You got me hooked on YSL semi-loose powder and I've been following since. Now you got me interested in trying La Mer powder foundation, but holy crap!? It does cost an arm & a leg D: Since you use linen shade, what shade would you recommend that is slightly lighter but with yellow undertone (NC25)? The only high end dept store in my city is Nordstrom and it doesn't have La Mer counter. Lamer.com couldn't give me an accurate swatch either :(

  • @gabrielle2526 I know, I wish it were less expensive. I'm going to try La Prairie's powder foundation later this year, which is a bit less, and compare the two. I think NC25 might be okay with Linen if used alone but you will most likely use Cream if you use it to set foundation!

  • Hi, I love watching your videos and you are just absolutly gorgeous but I have a question. Sorry I hope this doesnt offend you, but how do you have so much money to buy these expensive products when you're a student in college? Props to you though, totally jealous.

  • @Makemegoldgirl I have a scholarship and I work :) Plus, the only money I am ever willing to spend is on make-up for the sake of making my YT videos haha

  • What are some dry formula mascara you recommend? I have short and thin lash and I hear that dry formula is better, is it true? thank you

  • @silverstarylan Absolutely! I love dry w/p formulas.. my favorite is Lancome Hypnose W/P!

  • Hi Rae! Do you have any HG loose powder? I've been looking for a good one that gives a matte finish and doesn't get cakey, I also have combination skin. Any suggestions? Thank you. =)

  • @fairamayheart Bobbi Brown's Sheer Finish Loose!

  • As a dedicated subscriber, I hope you don't find this question silly, but I needed some makeup advice. My Senior Ball is next Saturday- my dress is navy blue with a one-shouldered metallic detailing. I know you're a busy college student, so I'm not going to make the outrageous request of a makeup tutorial, but I'm Asian and probably will not be using colored contacts, and I was just wondering what sort of makeup look I should do with this sort of color scheme. Thanks so much! :)

  • @xoxojamieexoxo Blue looks great against brown eyes. I'd recommend using a silver eyeshadow to highlight your inner tear duct and lower lash line, then use a deep navy to smoke out the crease. Use a brighter blue of your choice right at the ball of your eye for a pop of subtle color and make sure to blend it into the deep navy and the silver! Don't forget to use a brow highlight - stick to a matte bone shade :) Have fun!

  • Hi Rae, what does the Kiehl's Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ smell like? I love that it's super light and watery but I hate sunscreen that smell really strong. Thanks for your video! :)

  • @ragcey It has a slight sunscreen smell but it's mostly a fresh scent! Not offensive in the least :)

  • What is the difference between the chanel mat lum. and the vitalumiere aqua?? I am oily so what would be better for me? I have problems with foundation lasting too.

  • @amazingyummy2 Vita Aqua is best for oily skin! Mat Lumiere is only a semi-matte foundation so it only keeps me oil-free for a few hours.

  • Have you tried the La Mer fluid foundation yet Rae? I'm rather interested after falling completely in love with the La Mer powder foundation. But I would definitely prefer and appreciate your thoughts on it before I take the plunge. ^___^

  • @MBeth211 I haven't purchased it, unfortunately :( I have tried samples, though, and it's very rich - very much a medium to full coverage foundation with a true semi-matte finish. I like it a lot and think it would be worth the splurge!

  • @RAEview Thank you so much! I'll definitely have to drop by my LM counter soon. Would you say the shade Linen is too dark for my NC25 skin tone? I know you've stated previously that you're around NC30-35, which is why I'm a little concerned about purchasing the same shade you're using currently.

  • @MBeth211 It may be a touch too light! Try one shade down :)

  • I really like your geo lenses!!! I was wondering how long do you usually wear them for and whether if you would say it is comfortable relative to other brands? Thanks :)

  • @ilovey0uNOT I wear them for about 4 to 6 months :) And yes, they're very comfortable!

  • @RAEview oh ok :) how many hours can you wear it per day before it starts to feel uncomfortable?

  • @ilovey0uNOT They're not uncomfortable at all. They start feeling dry after 8 hours :)

  • @RAEview thanks hun!

  • @ilovey0uNOT You're welcome!

  • I'm actually going to Michigan this August so if you want to buy any Korean products you can ask me and I will send it to you ^^ It's inexpensive to buy it in Vietnam ^^

  • @Haemily08 That is so sweet and generous of you! But I could never impose like that :) Thank you very, very much for the offer, though!! <3

  • I checked out the La Mer powder after watching this video. The SA matched me as Sand which is supposedly two shades darker than your shade, Linen. Linen looks a bit darker to me though, what are your thoughts? I am about your skin tone maybe darker, what color are you in MAC? Thanks!

  • @Privateyes27 Linen looks darker because it has the most yellow undertone of all the colors in the range :) I think I'm between NC30 and NC35 right now!

  • Whoops, posted that under the wrong video :'D I'm watching several of your videos at once!

  • I'd love to see a kind of all-time favorites for skin care products.

  • I just purchased the La Mer Treatment Foundation Powder! i love it, thanks for the recommendation! =)

  • @zoomeebaba I'm glad you love it, too! :)

  • I recently purchased the VA in b40, but I feel like it gets darker after awhile I put it on.. Does VA oxidize on your skin?

  • @didi46h Not very much at all! Try using a primer before :)

  • i had been using chanel mat lumiere after i watched your review video on it =]] and thanks for your video that im in love with it!!

But now i am hesitating to try the VA one.=p May you do a full review on it sometime later? and also on the 3-sigma synthetic brushes if possible? Thank You so much for your videos =]

  • @yukienki The VA is much thinner but covers nearly as well as the Mat Lumiere! I'll be filming a review on the Sigma synthetic face trio soon.. I'm just waiting on the extra brush I bought because I'll be giving one away ;)

  • yes to barrel brush video :)

  • I was wondering what did you do to get your hair so brown? It's really pretty...did you bleach first, or just use the dye that is that color? I keep trying to get my hair that color but to no avail. :/

  • @shuppet88 Yes, you can watch my DIY Hair Color video for more information!

  • @RAEview Sweet...gracias!

  • 24:10 doesnt a 360 degree turn get you back to the same place?

  • @xaech LOL Yup! I realized my error while editing :)

  • @RAEview hahahah that's so cute

  • @xaech LOL I was like.. >.< Aiee

  • I seriously need to go get the Vita Lumiere Aqua and the La Mer powder, time to SAVE SAVE SAVE :P

Seriously though, I can't wait to get them! I can't believe the La Mer powder cost almost $100 though x_x

Definately gonna get the liquid foundation first lol!

  • @WendyOMGWar Yes yes yes!!! They're expensive but worth the investment :)

  • i feel armani's foundation is very wet...

  • @twinchipuppy You may be using too much. I never use more than 2 pumps and it sinks right into the skin :)

  • I am officially obsessed with the new Chanel aqua foundation ! Thanks so much for the recommendation Rae. Even after 7 hours at work, I still looked so fresh and matte by the end of the day. And that's an absolute miracle for an oily girl like myself ! <3

  • @MBeth211 YAY!!! I'm so glad to hear it :)

  • @MBeth211 me too!! i LOVE it!!

  • Wow you're so tan!

  • great video, as always!!! we have similar taste! do you like the La Mer Powder Foundation over the Chanel DOUBLE PERFECTION COMPACT NATURAL MATTE POWDER MAKEUP or are they not the same?

  • @acuity4ever1 Absolutely. I'm not a huge fan of the DP.. I prefer the older formula that got discontinued in 2009. That's saying a lot because everyone knows I'm a Chanel-ophile haha

  • Can you please please please do a review on Chanel's vita lumiere aqua? Is the coverage too sheer? I mean I'm really looking for at least medium coverage in a foundation, or I can simply get away with a tinted moisturizer. Also, does it cover pores?

  • @cocoluluification Nope, the coverage is buildable! And yes, it covers pores. Pick up a sample!

  • i seriously sat here for half an hour and watch all of this video, no skipping (: hehe i love your videos! You are so gorgeous!

The blush looks amazing! I was just wondering where you purchased it because i really would love to try it!

& i have the same giorgio armani eyeliner! i love it !

  • @HeathyDodo Thank you very much :) It's Illamasqua's Katie and you can purchase it at Sephora!

  • im totally gonna have to buy chanel vitalumiere aqua now. does it last longer than pro lumiere? because i had that, and liked the finish but it never set, and didnt last very well at all! mat lumiere is too drying for my skin too as settles intro the dry parts of my combination skin. im hoping the new one will be somewhere in the middle! xxx

  • @dollygirl731 I'd say they last about the same amount on my skin but the VA does set :) Pick up samples and see how you like it!

  • do you wear kiehls by itself in the morning or do you wear a moisturizer before it or after it? if so, what moisturizer?

  • Videos showing nail polish, make-up and perfume collection please!!!!

  • Loved this video so much I'm watching it twice! A lot of good reviews and information! Good to see you back!

  • WOW, I think you are one of the few gurus that actually reply to my questions :) Thank you for your reply! I hope you can open like a post office box so that I can put my words of thank you's into reality :D

P.S. I totally don't mind your super long videos. Its all detailed with a full review, nothing I can complain about. Much better than a useless, informative video. I will be looking forward to your future videos <3

    Sincerely,

    Jenny

  • @jennyle52 You're very welcome, Jenny! And once I get settled, I may open up a post office box. Thank you <3

  • nice watchin your video again hun; i had been using chanel mat lumiere for the past fewmonths now! & i love it; my first pricey foundation but i think it worth it! after watchin your video i really want to try out the chanel mat aqua! thanks for sharing love ;]

  • @ThanieKB I'm glad the MatLumiere works for you! It really is a lovely foundation :) I hope you like the Aqua if you decide to purchase it!

  • Nice raeviews. Btw there is only one syllable in Seche.

  • @maebeeee Thank you! :)

  • Great video! Thank you! :)

  • 1. do you use face primer for your foundation?

    2. which eye last curler do you use?

    3. thank you for your videos! i love them!!! they help sooo much! :)

  • Hi Rae! One of my favorite powders to wear is the ESTEE LAUDER Re-Nutriv Loose AND Pressed powder. I would love to hear your opinions on them ^_^! I have both of them but I prefer the loose one ^_^!

  • this video was WAYYYY to longggggggg. i really wanted to watch the whole thing!

  • @2014natnat It was long because I had to include products from last month as well :)

  • I really enjoy watching all your videos! They are informative, simple and to the point.

They are lovely products which you display so well. You are an excellent reviewer and I truly enjoy watching you. Take care and have a wonderful week! :-)

  • O.o you're beautiful! :)

  • is the chanel vitalumiere aqua good for oily skin?

  • @LoveMissAmie Indeed, it is!! Pick up samples :)

  • hey Rae, maybe you wanna try the Shiseido Sun protection compact foundation, i think the power is really finely milled and it doesn't look cakey at all =)

  • @lunafaye28 I have been using that for ages now.. it's one of my favorites, especially in the summer!

  • woow, it looks like you're responding to every comment :p

and i love your videos! you explain everything so wel!!

  • @jasmien1008 I try to :) Thank yoU!

  • been using it for months now and she's right, the Kiehl's SPF fluid is the BEST sunscreen I've ever tried!

  • @preciouzlily I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for your input :)

  • hi RAEview i love all yr tutorial... i have watch all of them,.... really thx for teaching and sharing.. great of u... Rae have u use this product name called bare minerals??? have u heard of it or use them b4??? apparently i heard is gd for sensitive skin and famous in state??? wanna ask yr opinion.. mind to share??

  • @puisanmoo I'm not a fan of Bare Minerals, as the original formula causes my skin to break out. It works well for lots of other women, though! :)

  • wow, this video was very long indeed...DELIGHTFULLY long! I adore watching your haul videos, so I devoured this one the moment I saw it in my subscriptions box :) I can't wait for all your upcoming videos — SOOO glad to have you back! -3

  • I don't mean to be obnoxious lol but sometimes it seems like you don't swallow enough... like saliva collects in your mouth as you talk..

  • Giorgio Armani Crayon Yeux or MUFE AQUA or LANCOME LE STYLO or urban decay for upper lashline and/or lower waterline?

  • rae! this is pretty random, but what is your favorite blush brush? :)

  • Hi Rae, I have an slight oily skin and am too a die hard matte lover! Currently I have, EL Double wear, EL Double wear light, and MUFE Matt Velvet. How does Chanel Vitalumier compare to any of these, coverage wise?? I've heard its more like a tinted moisturizer.

  • @sagchick12 No, it's much more buildable than a TM! It's got the coverage of DL Light :)

  • Thanks for sharing, and now I'm gonna go broke :p ! Love the new hair. Btw what's the cut of your hair? I like how you style your bangs. :)

  • Rae, so glad you are back! Lovely video per usual =) two question: what color in La Mer's loose powder would you be currently, and what do you think of Chanel's yellow Mimosa nail color? x

  • @judes106 I use Beige in the Loose Powder and I have Mimosa but haven't tried it on my nails yet :)

  • your like the prettiest asian makeup guru!

  • This has been a thorough, informative review video, I am quite pleased and will be watching more of your videos for sure.

  • @TheVIPERKitten Thank you very much for your feedback!

  • I completely agree with you about buying expensive cosmetic and how that is impacted by encountering nice and genuine sale associates! It's so nice to watch your videos again, Rae! Thank you! :) <3

  • Can u do a review on the 15th anniversary urban decay eyeliner?

  • i am SO SO SO SO tempted to get the La Mer stuff! end of this month, definitely.

  • Hi RAEview! I have been wanting Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua since forever however the only thing that concerns me is the fact that it has SPF. I want something that is super natural yet still gives a good amount of coverage for my graduation ceremony but I will be taking pictures that day. How is it like in flash photography? By the way, I love your videos! Whether it be 10 minutes long or 30 its ALWAYS a pleasure watching your detailed and informative reviews :) Have a nice day!

  • @jennyle52 Thank you <3 Also, there is a little bit of flashback with VA but nothing severe. Just make sure to use a powder without SPF to set it :)

  • Costa mesa <3

  • any suggestions for dry skin?

  • can you please do a video on how you blow dry your hair and bangs!! and alsoo hair products you use :)

  • hi rae! what's your favourite foundation for summer time ?

  • is the finish of the kiehls sunscreen matte?

  • @mintymomo Yes, matte :)

  • What ethnicity are you??

  • BEST REVIEWS ON YOUTUBE. BY FAR!

  • yay new vid! and can you please do kate middletons wedding or every day makeup look? its gorgeous!

  • hi rae, can you please explain how the guerlain meteorites compact works? i can't grasp the idea of a powder mattifying and illuminating your face simultaneously as the two are complete opposites. thank you :)

  • @LiANNNNE There are illuminating "spheres" but they're really just tiny, tiny illuminating particles in the powder. They're not sparkles or glitter :) What it means by "mattifying and illuminating" is that the powder will eliminate oil without making your skin powdery or flat, as though you're wearing a mask :)

  • does the chanel vitalumiere last longer than dior's forever? because i find the dior one to be very long lasting =) but id like to try out the chanel one because im out for 14 hours a day

  • @jennieisbetter No, it's not as long-lasting as Forever but it is quite good :) Pick up a sample and see if you like it!

  • If anyone in the Uk needs a dupe for the Dior nail polish, try MUA they ahve an identical one for £1 and it lasts ages

  • It's so refreshing to watch your videos! I think you look great with your tan :) You mentioned you cook a lot. Would you consider doing cooking videos or perhaps food blog posts???

  • Hahah this is one of the longest videos I've ever come across ! But iLike ! :D

  • Bangs tutorial please (: I love hearing your opinion. Picky enough (I like critical reviews bc that's the point of hearing them) but not overly so!

  • @MkChic7 LOL Yes, yes, exactly! Picky enough but not overly so.. <3 it!

  • How does the La Mer compact powder foundation compare to the Laura Mercier Compact Powder foundation? And... what is your favorite loose powder? I have been watching your videos, and I'm curious if you are still using LaMer Loose powder!

Love your videos! So happy to see you again! (and I get dark really easy, and I live in NY, not Cali...:-p)

  • @wang9190 I like LM's Compact for dry skin.. it's very hydrating for a powder but I personally do not love it. La Mer's is better, more finely milled and more coverage! I'm using the LM Invisible powder but not her regular translucent :)

  • La Mer Powder Foundation -- * Click ! *

Thank you for ordering... $300 tax, shipping and all.

Oh God.. -_- Lol <3 you Rae.

  • @MBeth211 CONGRATS!! I hope you love it all :) Please let me know what you think!

  • a "completely different turn" would be 180 degrees, 360 degrees means the exact same.

  • @nourabella LOL Yes, that's what I meant! I realized I said 360 while editing >.<

  • I <3 your super long informative videos!

  • do you know about that birth defect warning for the seche vi top coat?! its my favourite as well but that terrifies me!

  • @boobalababy I know!! I didn't realize it but thankfully I found a new topcoat recently.. I'll be filming a Nail Favorites video soon :)

  • you look so much happier now :)

  • @jax772 I've been very happy these days, thank you <3

  • Such a great, in-depth favorites/review of products. I love how you take the time to explain each product, what you like about it, and how you use it. It really shows how passionate you are about makeup and that you want to share your knowledge and experience with your viewers. Very much appreciated.

  • i think that might've been the longest video you made.. (yay youre back =) ) but you mentioned both the luminous silk and lasting silk.. i was deciding between the two and i have the same skin type.. which one do you prefer more and why? there are no armani counters near me and we used to be the same color too but not anymore so i can't base that off you anymore to purchase online

  • @tarotcafez I prefer Lasting Silk because I have combination skin but it's so much easier to find a matching shade in Luminous SIlk! :) If you were similar to my skin-tone before I got tanned, you'd be 5.5 in Lasting Silk and 4.5 in Luminous Silk!

  • it soooo nice to have see another video from you. you videos are always so so so amazing.

  • Hello Rae ! Lengthy video but so interesting ! Many thanks as always for your in-depth reviews. One question though : you said you're using the benefit moisturizer from benefit, which one is it ? Is it the b.right collection "total moisture facial cream" ? I'm on my way to buy the Chanel Vitalumiere aqua as your review was the final one that makes me definitely want to buy it now ! :)

  • @Mellaona I'm actually using the B.Bright Triple Emulsion with SPF :) It's amazing! Great for oily skin and I hope you love the Vitalumiere Aqua!

  • Ooh! I've been really curious about the Vitalumiere Aqua. I hope you will use it in your tutorials/routines soon!

  • @chltjdnjs37 Yes, I will!

  • Hi Rae love your reviews! Just wondering have you tried Laura Mercier silk foundation? Thanks

  • @mochi51509 Yes, I have a review posted for that foundation already!

  • i love your videos! :) haha

  • Your videos are always so in depth, helpful and overall, fantastic. Thank you. :)

I've been using the Vitalumiere Aqua for a little over a month now, and I am OBSESSED. I've never used such a perfect foundation, and I've used MANY (I am similarly obsessed)....It's like a second layer of flawless skin.

  • Hi Rae!! I am soooo happy that you posted a vid and also a very long one! I agree with everyone else here, I love your lengthy reviews, I always trust your opinion and I always take note of what you purchase. I do have a question about the VA foundation. I've been seeing great reviews on them, but it wasn't until you reviewed it that I really wanted to purchase it! My face is combination oily... and also I get acne here and then, do you think the V.A would suit me?
