  • Aww he said liberia

  • @fineguh my home <3

  • SOUTH AFRICA??

Does that Guy that said South Africa know anything about the slave trade atall??? LMAO

  • @Zamzaki1 lol

  • and let's not forget that you can be light skinned but still have african blood and vice versa.

  • i don't trust this. are white americans concerned by their roots back in europe like african americans? this is scaring me cause don't know what it will bring

  • I can trace heritage from sierra leone on my mom's side

  • WHY THE FUCK DOES A CRACKER START THE VIDEO

  • Yeah...ARABS actually started the first major Slave trade........

  • @sonnyred5050 It does'nt matter what people did the most of it, SLAVERY IS SLAVERY!

  • omg i love that song :)

  • loool , he said "well, uhh, I'm guessing Liberia.. because I like the name" ahahah too cutee.

  • also vist slave voyage .org

  • the government should pay for these tests since they are the reason nobody knows

  • all African Americans need to take this test.

i wanna take this test too ,i wanna see if some of my ancestors were slaves in america ,i know where im from already and im proud of it .

  • @sudanesgal Why? I'm black American-African American is my ethnicity, just like the other 38 million blacks in this country. Thats all we need is more division;we're black Americans period. I can't believe their are still black Americans who have this idealic view of the African continent. And after this DNA test, then what? They'll change their ethnicity to: Camerooian-American, Niger-American, or Liberian-American. All this is going to do is cause division...I'm against it,more importantthings

  • @Mr89Amerigo there is no such thing as african american.....u eitha african or american .choose one .they only call yall african americans cus they wanna give yall a title

  • @sudanesgal You're so right sudanesgal, I am just American. And as for the "powers to be" labeling us, I can't agree with that, because it was an African American (Black American) who dubed us that in the first place. I guess trying to show respect towards Africa, but I don't need to be from a place to show respect. And I'm not saying this because of the state of Africa, I'm saying this because its a fact; it wouldn't matter if all of African nations looked like the USA or Japan, the feeling;same

  • @Mr89Amerigo you dont know whatchuu are .u might as well call urself an unknwn element

  • @sudanesgal Listen, I don't want to fight, but my word is bond. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. Peace!

  • @Mr89Amerigo i dont want to fight eitha ,im just sayin

.on this issue there is no opinions ....its a fact tht ...black americans do not know where tthey belong .they claim to be from the white man's land .

when the white man himself have dragged the bloody negro with his chains around his neck and brought it to america as a slave .so now the negro wanna claim the land is his ? woow wat a waste

  • @sudanesgal Black Americans belong in the USA. I laugh when Africans say the "White Man's Land"-this is not the white man's land. The only reason their are more White Americans than their are Black Americans is, because legal invasion by Europeans, due to my government. If you don't mind me asking, what are you, where are you from and where do you reside now? And one more thing, if Black Americans do not belong here, we don't belong anywhere- I guess we ought to commit mass suicide; yeah?

  • @Mr89Amerigo DO AS U PLEASE .......EVEN IF U KNEW MY LOCATION U WOULDNT DO ANYTHING

  • @Mr89Amerigo You belong in the U.S. even some latinos are mixed with white Spainard from Spain. Everyone migrated from some where. Some migrated thousands of years ago some migrated hundreds. Nothing wrong with taking this test it will only help you connect with family over seas.

  • @Mr89Amerigo

The reason why this maternal/paternal testing still works, is because "African-Americans" have been in these lands for only 500 years. You lineages in Africa have been mutating for 70,000 years. Let that sink in for a while.

Now you tell me what makes more sense on how you want to identify yourself. To each his own.

  • wait,so they r all african,no native american or anything?im confsed,im taking this test 2

  • Meka's makeup is gorgeous!

  • Aww he said Liberia <3

  • Not all Blacks were brought here in the slave trade. There were Free Blacks that have been in this country going back to the early settlers after the Mayflower.

  • BEAUTIFUL ! I feel soooo proud!

  • Damn...they are lucky.

I haven't been able to trace my African Ancestry definitively any farther than the U.S and Caribbean (specifically Trinidad and Grenada)

    I need to take a test..... d:(

  • My mother and father were born in kenya so i always knew my roots. But there really was not much of a slave trade if any in east africa.

  • You may want to study the Arab slave trade. THERE WERE MORE taken into slavery there for a longer period of time, than the trans-Atlantic Slave trade. I am positive the E. Africa was hit as well.

  • @WONDAWOMAN It does'nt matter what people did the most of it, SLAVERY IS SLAVERY!

  • @SocailQueen Slavery DID indeed take place in E.Africa, but NOT transatlantic slavery. In E.Africa, the slaves were taken eastwards, to Arab/W. Asian countries, but NOT to the Americas.

  • vixxy02, there is nothing original nor unique, about women like you, you are not angry with me or any one, in reality u are angry with yourself, learn to love yourself, stop using such ugly words and profanity, and act like a lady, and believe me then I will respond to you, and do u even know where I'm from?

u should show me respect, then u shall get respect back, but at this moment in time u are talking like a savage.

  • @GoodYearKeynan My dear, I know you are from the Horn of Africa, and I'm pretty sure you are Somali/Somalian. You talk about my 'anger', but I assure you, anger is far from my agenda, nor my character, unless I'm provoked into invoking such sentiments. You accused me of "talking like a savage",yet YOU are the one who, without ANY sort of provocation, accused me of "talking shit" so I responded...LIKEWISE.

I still have the message you sent, and I'd be more than willing to publish it,for all to see.

  • Hello Vixxy02, I'm sory if I have ofended.

I take back everything I said, in no way are you a savage.

    bye

  • @GoodYearKeynan PEACE!!!

  • For all the AA brethren, start to learn of West Africa by looking up Dhar Tichitt, then move from there. Fouta Toro is another with those of Fulani ancestry.

  • My point was that no one in MY family was taken into slavery since i've goten to meet my great grandparents and started a family tree, i got pretty far in the past before slavery really began.

  • Why do they start the history of these countries with when europeans arrived? Of all the documented things that transpired in West Africa over THOUSANDS of years, they only talk of the few hundred europeans were there?

  • there goes 2 more cameroonians

  • Notice @ 2:32 she said MATERNAL and not PATERNAL ancestry. Mitochondria DNA (MtDNA) changes each generation, Y-DNA ,which is paternal, does not change each generation, therefore, they aren't giving the true lineage of these children's forefathers.

  • Mtdna only changes when a male child has a child. It is passed on from generation to generation through females.

  • That is my point rehashed, men must know their true descent through their paternal (father) line.

  • That is why I am going to test my father for his maternal DNA.

  • As a note there are ethinc groups that recognize the mother's bloodline only. Example.. you are only Jewish if your mother was Jewish.

  • They do give out paternal DNA tests but the MtDNA I am telling many tribes look at. I read that you are entiled to Ashanti status if your direct mother's bloodline is Ashanti.

  • That does not negate that men should know both, specifically for the reason that MtDNA does not give as specific results for men as Y-DNA. Doing the MtDNA one is "fine and dandy" to get tribal status, but men should get the Y-DNA test done as well to get a more "complete" picture.

  • Do not unstand your argument but men do have both done.

  • Damn........Do me next lol

  • this what every person needs to do. Find your roots and know who you are. My parents were born and raised in Liberia, they came to America in the 1980's. I was born here, I am an American citizen but I love my cultural identity more because it makes me who I am.

  • yah thats gud brother you know your language aswell right??

  • Dunk I am a girl...yea the tribe we come from is Grebo tribe and I speak Grebo

-Wow my boyfriend is from the Grebo tribe.

  • interesting

  • wooow i was hoping the lady was from ghana too lol

  • it's about time we are able to retain knowledge of our history, who we are and where we came from.

  • My dis like for you whites is very focus. 20/20. Thats why I don't hate you becuase I'm focus on destorying the white lie: "White Supremacy"

  • Are you crazy? Why would you disown someone, just because they have a certain percentage of European ancestry? It's not like they had a vote on what ethnicity, prior to conception...

You can't rectify a wrong with another wrong; i.e. slavery with the hatred of Caucasians. Only through self-actualization, self-love and a lot of hard work, will we regain our collective dignity; not via blind hatred.

  • I dont hate you whites: your not worth all that. But I wont forget about what you've done and what you're doing. You my be blind to it due to guilt but thats you. It doesn't change history or the present. I would like to know how you feel if it was your people went throught that shit and I tell you that bullshit you told me...?

  • umm, buddy, read my comments carefully. I'm of African origin! What makes you think I'm White? Just because I told you not to hate people who are mixed, doesn't make me White...

Check yourself and purge of the animosity--it's not helping you, bro!

  • Antidote2010 says: "You can't rectify a wrong with another wrong". DAMN, how many times to I have to hear this shit from black people? Its really amazing, I tell you!

  • get tested!

  • I wonder how can someone trace their Asian tribal roots. But I can not wait to trace my father's African ancestry.

  • I did it the results came back today the Balanta people from Guinea-Bissau! I am Balanta!

  • Me too! :)

  • Congratulations!

  • @smasha821 me too

  • @smasha821 Congratulations

  • Great Job!!! I feel so proud

  • This was fantastic...I loved seeing people just like me on researching their ancestry that I can relate to! Great job and great inspiration. I'll definitely get on board to do this.

  • I can't wait to get tested. If they find any white traces, I really don't what to know.

  • Most African Americans have some White blood, not Indian blood. You can't but embrace all of your ancestry.

  • BEAUTIFUL!
