The two statements he made are NOT mutually exclusive.

The Holy Grail as a metaphor is usually meant as some ultimate goal. In terms of money, it's the thing/idea that will make you rich. Opportunities may not make you rich, but you might be able to make some money off it. So you can have golden opportunities without the Internet being considered a Holy Grail.

And the Holy Grail--in Grail lore--doesn't have to be made out of gold.
