  • thats pretty cool man. nice glass.

  • i like it

  • or you could fill the bottole up with a drink.

  • Ugh, the sound of sandpaper on glass makes my skin crawl.

  • Awesome

  • tailor park boys did it better.

  • Very slick. Can you do this to the same bottle twice? If you wanted to take of the neck and the bottom, say?

  • heres an idea just go out and buy a freakin glass

  • Love it. Simplicity and functionality. Thanks for posting.

  • If only If only...i had those machines

  • Why didn't you just use a dremel? Faster and simpler to sand.

  • ive done a couple of them too i used a disc sander to sander and the top edge witch made it look like it wasent cut and i sanded the side edges with reg sandpaper about 100 gt......

i also have a video on how to " melt a glass bottle in your toaster oven" something else you can try with a bottle !

  • I dunno. I just bought some glass coke cups from the dollar store. 3 for a dollar..

  • nice video

  • GREAT JOB A few extra tips

    A) NEVER EVER EVER(!!!!) NEVER!!! sand file etc, your glass without mout/nose protection!!! this is VITAL . the free glass particles can go into your lungs and reek serious havoc on your health.

    B) when ur done with the rough sandpaper, you can use a wet sanding stone at the end, invert the glass and get a rather perfect finish. you can continue going into a finer and finer grit, and then polish.

    enjoy!

  • ha have u heard the ringtone ring ring well this might be where they got it from lol

  • whats messed up, is that you can buy that glass in a dollar store cheaper than it cost to make it having to buy the soda..

  • so this is what ppl do when their old make youtube videos of making glass cups from bottles yippy kiya

  • 1:43 "Glass dust; don't breath this!"

  • thats metal xD im gonna do this and make a shitload of fucking bottles and bongs XDXD!!

  • Can't you melt the edge off the glass top with the blowtorch instead of sanding it down

  • @xdir

The glass always cracks when I've tried this. It's thermal contraction when the glass cools...it need to be insulated so it cools slower. When i have the time, I'm going to try and bury the glass is a bucket of sand so that only 1/8th of the rim is showing above the sand. The I'd melt the rim slowly, and put a fiber blanket on top when I was finished.

  • @pyroneph

    or use a kiln

  • @pyroneph try to find a bottle made of pyrex glass, alot of glass cook dishes are made of pyrex along with alot of glass art and such from glass blowers. pyrex isnt affected by heat or cold, so you can get really creative with it :)

  • why am i getting sooo much of responses lol XD

  • @danniornsmarason

Your comment left a lot of us makers concerned :)

  • Yeah Cus I really just have a torch pen and a grinder just lying around.

  • You should build a simple fixture out of wood to cradle the bottle and hold the glass cutter. You would get a more even score line. Also, a good way to get a surface flat is to put a piece of sandpaper on a very flat surface (a table saw, for example) and run the glass back and forth across it.

  • i woulda cut above the cola logo and made a nice lil cola glass

  • Common sense goes a long way. Why does everyone assume he just bought the tools to make one cup. This is just obviously one method. If you don't like it or want a simpler method just keep searching for other videos until you find one that works for you.

  • so to do this you need to buy a glass cutter and a flaming torch pencul and a BIG grinder and thats about what 1000 dollars??? i would just buy a normall glass like every one

  • @danniornsmarason

There is something to be said about doing something yourself, obviously it's not your kind of thing. Go to the dollar store and buy yourself a nice glass like everyone else. I certainly don't mind :)

  • @danniornsmarason wake up you could use a dremel and a propane torch duh

  • @danniornsmarason

You seem like someone who would prefer this method: watch?v=_A4J7RcdsfM

All it will cost you is the bottle, a string, some alcohol and some fire.

You may want to get some sandpaper to smooth out the glass too -- ask a hardware store employee for the type.

  • @danniornsmarason Actually you can do it with a glass cutter, boiling water, cold water, and some sandpaper. You make the score line, slowly pour the boiling water over it to heat it, and then dip it into the cold water to make it release. Then just place the sand paper under some water and sand the glass (Doing this under water prevents glass chips from becomming airborn and being inhaled). Should cost you maybe 3 bucks.

  • @danniornsmarason In addition, A blade for glass cutting can found for $2, An electric angle grinder $5, Pencil torch $3, Sand paper $3. Don't let the prices fool you into thinking they're bad quality. I commonly find people thinking products are very expensive. Well, They can be. But if you know where to look, You can find good quality products and great prices. Sure there's pencil torches for $40+ and angle grinders $120+, But cheaper products can still get the job done, Always works for me.

  • @XSevenSonata and made in china, then the tea baggers talk about "socialism"

jobs must stay in USA, with the money.

Chinese people can buy their own products and at the same time stop fucking up the environment with toxic waste

  • @poosaypirate This isn't about hateful society only purchasing items from they're country,It's about finding good quality items that are also affordable. If you want to purchase items made in your country Feel free. Needless to say that no matter if the item is made in USA, Chances are the materials used to craft it are from China which most people don't realize. Take your hypocritical opinions elsewhere. Arguments are a main problem with the world today, And you speak of socialism.

  • @XSevenSonata jesus tap dancing christ complete non-sequitur non-cohesive string of bullshit in 500 caricatures or less.

    WHAT IS YOUR STANCE !!!!

** SHAKES LIVING SHIT OUT OF SEVEN**

  • @poosaypirate That's because I'm limited to 500 characters. I couldn't be so detailed. Look, My comment was to give a polite tip to someone okay? Let them choose if they want to support they're country by not buying a good affordable item that was made in China because they're toxic waste products are fucking up the environment. As for you, Support your country. No one is wrong. And any more ignorant comments from anyone will now be ignored.

  • @XSevenSonata LOL UR A RIP

  • @danniornsmarason you can do it with a string , acetone, and a bucket of water

  • i am not gonna wast my money on this machine 's to make only one glass...lol i will go to a dollar store and i will buy one glass for a doller and it will be alot better then this one...thnaks u :P

  • There are inexpensive glass-grinders the size of a shoebox. They use water-lubricant, so there's no dust.

  • I just realized that every bottle in my grandfathers cub-bard was made this way.

  • NICE

  • I saw another video where someone cut a bottle by wrapping string dipped in acetone around the bottle, then lighting the string on fire and rotating the bottle for a little bit, then quickly submerging it into cold water. The bottle broke clean where the string was tied around it.

  • In russia...Pencil is a torch

  • Why would one not like to cut over same line twice?

  • @EzeeSKANKIN

It will wreck the little carbide wheel on the glass cutter.

  • ok i found a glass scorer but i dont have a pencil tourch, i have propain touches or an acetylene torch which one should i use

  • @REDNECKCABLETV

    Use the propane torch.

  • @pyroneph ok thank you

  • nice...does anyone know how to cut holes in a glass bottle without using a diamond drill bit.

  • or just buy a glass for 0,5 $

  • @LordLoppen You mean $0.50 or $5.00

  • @Metalmonkey22 $0.5 is what i mean ! ;) Forgot that '$' should be in front of value. It's the opposite where i come from ;)

  • @LordLoppen Oh cool! Where r u from???

  • Get a bottle cutter.

  • fantastic!!!!

  • can i cut a small hole in it and tap it out?

  • wow that edge sure is nice and smooth

  • if you heat the score line w/ the torch than rub it w/ ice it will just fall apart, from what i've seen thats the easiest

  • Great video! I can't wait to give it a try.

    Thanks for posting

  • do you know how to recycle a used condom?

  • Hey, congrats from Chile, can you give me the brand and model of your torch? , regards, AB.

  • When sanding or grinding glass remember that those particles can enter through your nose and mouth and get into your eyes etc. Be sure to wear safety gear to prevent that. Wouldnt want glass in your eyes, nose, ears or mouth.

  • lol i just bought that BenzOmatic or watever, i love the heat gun attachment and soldering iron attachment :D

    and of course the torch

  • any tips on scoring the glass. Im having problems scoring the glass smoothly

  • @superchan

Try wrapping the diameter of the bottle with a piece of masking to so you can sort of sketch out where you want the scoreline. If a straight scoreline is not a problem, then you might need to use oil with your cutter and try scoring much harder.

  • What if I use a more powerful torch to soften the glass on the cutting line an let it roll on itself?

I don't know how to explain it better, but you see what I mean on industrial made glasses. On the upper lip there's like an O-ring of glass. This way the whole surface is smooth (no sandpaper involved) and the feeling on the lips would be nicer.

  • @Shannariano

I know what your saying. I've tried it with my glassworking torch, but the glass always cracks into pieces. However, I have heard of putting the glass in a coffee can and filling it up with sand until just the rim of the glass is exposed (then rolling the edge). The sand is supposed to insulate it from thermal shock, but I haven't tried that method. In industrial made glasses, they heat up the glasses in a kiln before 'rolling the edges'. The glasses have to be annealed afterwards.

  • @EzeroDJ

thak you for your answer. My worry was indeed that the glass would shatter. the idea of the sand could work if you want to insulate it but (I'm guessing at the moment) on the other hand you could fill and surround the glass with water (best would be liquid metal like mercury or gallium) in order to dissipate the heat. What's your opinion?

  • i think you could've made a flatter edge, if you put sandpaper on the table, and just sanded the glass in circles

  • @NamesROverated

Yeah, since I made this video, that's how I've been doing it. I'm thinking about getting one of those Ephrem bottle cutters, they make a perfect cut that need only a little sanding.

  • It'd be cool if you cut it above the coca-cola label :) but over all nice video.

  • Nice video. :)
