  • I believe the opening shots showing the Ile de France are from the MGM film, The Last Voyage (1960) when the ship was leased as a floating film prop and was blown up and sunk in shallow water. Her former owners, the French Line threatened to sue if her real name appeared in the film. Hence she was named the SS CLaridon and her funnels were painted with a white logo in the middle. Barely visible on some of the shots because of the angle.

  • The Ile De France was a stunning piece of work. Her luxurious fittings were the talk of the martime world.

  • The salle a Manger is beautiful, with it two rows of portholes. very beautiful.

  • Inventive, engaging, and artistic! Helps us Ile de France aficianodas come away with a chuckle ratther than the usual mournful wails over losing this fabulous work of art and one of the most beloved liners of all time.

  • Seeing Ile De France & her beauty just dazzles me.

  • suspenseful music, praceticful joker on Ile De France funny

  • Superb film! Inventive use of clips from "The Last Voyage" make this a must see for "Ilkies"!

  • What a great video! I liked the green faces and the chef's story and was that some photo manipulation that I saw on Tommy"s face? Little Tommy and Mary sure were cute...what happened to them??? Could they have more adventures? Well Done!

  • Wow!!! It was awesome Dad!!! I told the kids the story of you and Mary on the ship today and about the sheriff badge. They loved it, and I love it too!
