Well since I'm a history buff I will tell you it started under Regan and continues to this day.
I haven't heard yet of any regulation that have taken place yet or any investigation into this financial crisis to see what happened we all know they have too and sooner then later so we can fix the problems but I believe Congress has been bought by the financial system. I'm none to happy about having the same people trying to fix this problem that were right in the middle of creating it.

The nominal amount of the debt is not meaningful by itself, the debt to GDP ratio is the significant measure to determine a healthy debt level. In 2000 -2008 it grew from 58% - 74% how is that double? Obama's own projections are for over 200% by 2012, that is nothing short of economic treason!

Bush and McCain were the first to propose regulation of Fannie & Freddie while the Dems protected them. Obama led the way as a community organizer and showed ACORN how to sue banks for not giving loans to people who couldn't afford them. They claimed that racism - not ability to repay - was why minorities couldn't get the loans. Then they couldn't pay them back which started this whole mess in the first place. Carter founded the laws, Clinton expanded them, Obama & Dems abused them!!

You and I both know exactly what happens when any Republican tries to challenge something, no matter how corrupt that something may be, when it supposedly benefits minorities - they get labeled as racists. That is what happened in 2004 when Republicans met extreme opposition from the Democratic party and especially the Black Caucus.
