  • I am not a current contry and western fan, at all, but I love the old stuff. Reminds me of my dad calling square dances in Yellowstone park in the 60's. Was a fun time.

  • Just heard this on WEVL in Memphis today. What a great song!

I couldn't care less about the beetles. They come and go. We don't ask YOU to like it. Sooo the feeling is mutual, the beetles sound like a hound dog hit by a car. You listen to yours and let me listen to mine. You won't see me makin comments about the beetles for I won't even go thereto watch their video.

  • This is great stuff. They don't make music like that no more. There's a depth and mood in these old country songs you just can't match.

  • R.I.P Carl sing with Johnny in heaven now

  • @hotdog4sex It's funny. But, these old country songs have the magical ability to give you joy when you hear them. I always get joy watching this vid. Great stuff.

  • Does anyone else remember a recording by Carl that started with "You said you'd make me over, but I thought that you loved me,and I never knew that it could cause so much misery. Now after all your changing,I've finally made the grade, and I hope

that you're not sorry, cause there's one mistake you made.....

  • I played the needle off the old record player on this song when I was a young kid...many years ago!

  • Carl was the real deal. Unappreciated to this day.

  • @ronnogold

Yes they picked and choose and promoted who they thought they could control and make the most money off of.

  • Can Carl sell the song or what?

  • charming

  • rest in peace...

  • When I was a kid, my grandfather would sing this song all the time. Thanks for blessing us with your music , RIP Carl Smith.

  • Mr.Smith Rest In Peace. He passed away 01-16-2010

  • Man, what a singer. What is Carl doing today?

  • Both of those guys (Carl Smith and Johnny Sibert) are still living. We need to convince them to play again while they can!

  • @gospelmusiclover48 Carl Smith died a few months ago. Too bad :'(

  • Great video! Yes, he is Carlene Carter's dad (hence her name). He was one of June Carter's husbands.

  • He was good!

  • isn't this carlene carters dad?

  • What A DOLL! =D

  • Carl was FINE when he was young!!

  • Now, that's real music. Sing it, Carl !

  • SHort but sweet. Thanks.

  • Having seen Carl Smith perform "live" a number of times (some times at almost "arm's length"), I can attest that his level of "musical energy," as revealed in "Hey Joe," has never been surpassed (well, maybe by Gretchen Wilson on "All Jacked Up"). Doc Woody, Troubadour

  • Carl Smith is an awesome country musician. He is still #1 in my book!

  • Great Country Classic!!..thank you:)
