  • " I am happy to be a man who wishes to give my life in defense of my constitutional rights; rather than to be the men who will die trying to take them from me" - Aaron Eyman Sr.

  • The video didn't show anything. In this country, which is America; not Nazi Germany, police are civilians just like everyone else. They are not military, and they are not above the law. United States VS. The Branch Davidians... " Every person has a basic human right to defend one's self, even against constituionally appointed officers, if first before anything else- excessive force is used."

  • You guys can talk all the shit you want, but nothing actually happens on camera. Technically the kid could have walked away from the cop IF he wasn't wasted. Instead trying to kick the cops ass isn't a smart move.

  • This guy was probably wasted (which isn't surprising cuz Iowa city has a drinking problem) and didn't even care if this was a cop or not cuz of how intoxicated he was. I dont like cops in Iowa city cuz they try to get you for anything! But this one didn't do anything wrong besides not identifying himself.

  • was the officer undercover in street clothes? I can't see how other people walking and driving would all kinda not notice this happening like a big deal. I once saw an officer pull a gun on a guy and it was very obvious and drew a lot of attention.

  • @keystoprosper He does have priors... 2 summers ago he drove into someones living house. He needs to learn his lesson and do some time.

  • @keystoprosper People like this don't care about the safety of others and will repeat similar wanton and reckless action if released. I don't understand why they let violent sociopaths out of jail at all. They eventually maim someone or kill others.

  • The cop did nothing wrong here, they do procecute for J walking in Iowa City! I do not understand why they say he lost conscious when he never quits talking or fighting the whole 2 minutes. How can that be possible? You hear his struggle with Branden and it never ends and he is speaking. He was standing when Branden fled and he was treated and released from hospital that night. If he almost died, would he not have been admitted at least for observation? Attack of an officer, not attemped murder.

  • She said he's a cop so let him go, not he's a cop in plain clothes. By all media accounts, the officer was a fully marked patrol car in uniform. The guy's reaction would have been different when the officer asked for his I.D. if he supposedly didn't know he was a cop. As far as I'm concerned, the douchebag gets what he deserves and I'm glad the officer is okay.

  • I don't care how it started..I just want to know why a police officer let a beligerant teen man handle him. I thought they were trained in combat.

  • all of you saying shit about the officer have no clue about the story. someone called the police reporting a man disrupting traffic in the middle of the road, hence the officer responded. the officer wasnt looking for any fight at all. learn your facts before you start speaking about shit you dont know...

The guy is being charged with attempted murder by the way, he choked the officer to where he became unconscious for a little towards the end, thats when you hear the officer asking for help.

  • If I witnessed this, you'd bet I'd have been there in a flash, calling 911 and trying to stop this situation. And I'm a woman! Kudos to this woman's action to get involved - may have saved this man's life. Young men walking by with their hands in their pockets - maybe assistance you offered was off webcam's view, but it does appear no one else is in any hurry to intervene. This video clip chills me to the bone.

  • @yo2ma2 The officer didn't do a very good job of identifying himself, now did he? Where in this entire clip do you hear the officer identify himself or see him show his badge? Plus, from the clip you can see that the car was not a regular patrol car, and you can hear the woman in the video tell the assaulter that he was a cop in street clothes. So how would the assaulter know that he was attacking a cop, and not defending himself from a thief?

  • @SaintJoshIII How do you know this is not a regular patrol car, because you cannot tell from this clip? It does sound like in the clip the woman says he's a cop in plain clothes, but was he?

  • @SaintJoshIII

The officer was in full uniform in a marked car, he pulled up to find a drunk man just standing in the middle of a busy road, he wasn't looking for a fight he was looking to make sure thiss asshat didn't get run over

  • Also, to attest to his character, he is a role model police officer and a very soft spoken and kind individual. Know the facts before you start accusing the police of abuse. From what you can hear in the video he has no ill will in his voice until the scuffle begins. During the whole time he hardly raises his voice even and keeps calm. Plummer is at fault and I hope that Plummer gets what he deserves.

  • My family and I personnally know this officer and all of you who are saying he was looking for a fight are wrong and either have a problem with the police or are looking for a fight yourself. In this instance he was obviously in his police cruiser. HE HAS HIS CAMERA AND AUDIO ON. There is nothing saying that lights must be on to ask questions of anyone. Myself and my family have never known him to be on duty out of uniform and our police cars are easily distinguishable from normal vehicles.

  • If you think about if someone came up to you that looks like he was in normal street clothes and asked you for your id wouldnt you be a little bit defensive as to why?? and im not bashing on the cop, what he did regardless was wrong, but its just a little strange as to how the situation came about.

  • Obviously this officer did not identify himself as a cop because in that situation I don't think plummer would have ever done this if he knew that the cop was in uniform. Also, as you can tell in the video that you cannot see police lights on the vehicle so that clearly indicates that he wasn't in a police vehicle. And doesn't look a little bit strange as why people would be coming up to a cop?? It clearly looks just like a fight is occuring in the street.

  • Does anyone know where we can donate to Mr. Plummer's defense fund? This cop was clearly looking for trouble and found it.
