Alright this is how it is. I bought an S-Video cable for my PS3. The quality on a Standard t.v. was greatly and very well improved. I don't use the DVI cable with my HD monitor because there's no difference in quality. The guy is a bullshitter.

I worded that wrong because it loses meaning in the translation between typing and voice intonation. My bad. Since many studios are using one format over the other exclusively for their movies (either blu-ray or HD-DVD), this will likely limit selection of movies for both formats. To the consumers' eyes: "I like movie A and movie B, movie A is on Blu-ray only, and movie B is on HD-DVD only, I'll just stick with dvd for now". Due to neither format being a universal format, there is a good chance that both formats will either hold a stalemate or both fail.

Both Blu-ray and HD-DVD support the vc1 codec. I think in the long run that the biggest advantage for Blu-ray is the capacity, and the biggest advantage for HD-DVD is the manufacturing cost. There is also a possibility that neither format win, and be replaced with a completely different technology. Remember what happened with SACD vs DVD-Audio? both of them failed due to lack of appeal of disc audio and higher appeal for mp3 players.
