Than you'd wish your dad/mom hooked up wt someone else.
I somehow doubt anyone can grok that. But everyone (reading this) can imagine living in the (very shitty) dark ages and never having a chance to enjoy any intellectual pursuits.
@hyperboreean lol at "grok" I get it....lol I think about the lucky aspect a bit and am thankfull that I am where I am in history, just sad that it will end all too soon, I kinda want to see how it all turns out. :)
Nice video buddy, very positive and important ending. I really believe it is the fear of death etc., that explains the power of religion. I suffered this same delusion most of my life until I was willing to let go. Cheers, Sky.
Interesting points. Not sure I share all of your opinions. I will have to chew on this one a while. If I come up with anything interesting to say LOL I will come back. You have certainly given me stuff to think about. Thanks for doing this. :O)
@rednecktrucker1969 - As all things can be explained by science, and with a greater understanding of science, we can make better predictions of what the outcomes will be, I find myself a person who believes in "predetermination" to an extent. I do not believe I should not consider my decisions or just go with the most recent idea, just that whatever I will decide is merely the result of complex poorly understood processes that, with a thorough understanding, will lead to a sort of precognition.
It's actually a one out of one chance because it DID happen. I WAS born... So there was no luck involved at all. We are NOT unique... We are all pretty much the same really. All those billions who never had the chance to be born are not missing anything because they were never born to be ABLE to miss anything. A rock has a better chance at missing out than a non existant life form.
I liked this video but have a problem with the "its you" argument, because if a different sperm from my father had fertilized my mothers egg, in the same night, in the same "session", we would still be sitting here saying the exact same thing. For me, I have a hard time imagining myself as anyone else, so while life is rare, no matter who I would have been, I'd be saying the same thing. Then again, I am downtrodden and whatnot so I don't see the miracle in my own life.
The only times I've gone close to fainting I've seen a white screen when that happens I have to wait a bit for my sense to return to me. XD It's not scary though I just can't see things.
after running to my dead grandpa in heaven or whatever it would be nice, but after a few million years I doubt there would be much to talk about. shit I try to stop myself from telling the same stories over and over after 35 years alive. come get me when you will death. hope I get a few more decades though. slap
@rednecktrucker1969 Yeah, I did watch whole thing and can understand your position. After flip flopping through Christianity and Wicca you found something better, something more intelligent and real. That being said I wonder why so many see loved ones in the light as opposed to lets say a tyrannosaurus rex or alien invasion? After all brain activity could cause anything to manifest. I myself do not know but its worth some research.
You're spot on. You know what inspires me and puts my fears at rest. The thought of the countless ancestors before us that fought, survived, evolved, and procreated till eventually you was born. You are an evolutionary miracle that survived billions of years. That is just bitchen.
@Strictlypointless I have thought about this exact thing and to me as a person who never procreated, I felt as though I was the one failure at the end of my lineage. Then I realized that none if it matters anyways because there will be an eventual end to all lineages. Mine must came early.
I had an official NDE at a local hospital several years ago. I didn't see anything. Like being under general anesthetic even the time was gone, no awareness, at all. However the experience did have a powerful and long lasting effect. I quit wasting the little bit of time we have here and became determined to live my real life and to not be cowed by petty fears.
I get the tunnel vision every time I smoke some good reefer, does that mean I am dying? LOL
Thanks for sharing your views brother.

Neurology plays a huge part in death. I totally agree with you. Death is a physiological process. I hope my neurons go crazy. Great video!

Life after you are gone is the same as it was before you were born. It exists and you don't. Simple.
