You are correct about the link between libertarianism and classical liberalism but not of conservativism and neoconservativism. As for the founding fathers they did derive from the modern political tradition (Locke in particular) but they also didn't believe in moral relativism like the moderns do.
now there is another term called the New Right. its referring to the conservative movement of Ronald Reagan. they were against the foreign policy of non-interventionist of the Old Right (the anti New Dealers). They adopted the "spread democracy" policy from the Old Left but are for a LIMITED welfare state and the progressive tax. so really it looks like both side totally mix match each other's policies. amazing.

In the 13 years between Obama's return to Chicago from Harvard and his Senate campaign, he was very involved with the city's community-organizing groups. He wrote about the subject, attended organizing seminars, and served on the boards of foundations that support community organizing. And he pledged to bring the spirit of community organizing to the state Senate and now the Presidency.

Community organizers ONLY have responsibilities for the people that their organization represents and the board of directors if you want to get legal. A mayor is elected and has responsibilities to ALL the population and can me removed not just by and hand full of people on the board of directors but the entire populations opinion.
It seems to me YOU don't get it either. Community is a relative term. A mayor, to use your example, or EVEN a President is also responsible for THEIR community. Their form of organizing is called a CAMPAIGN and their approval or removal by their board of directors is call an ELECTION!!!

If you don't believe me read some Strauss. He was the original neoconservative political philosopher and he was vigorously opposed to moral relativism.
I know this is a common misconception but Neocons aren't the same thing as country-club Republicans or RINO's as they are sometimes called.

Palin was the first and only to dish out an insult, because at the DNC, the Dems did not know who the VP was until it was announced (a day or two before the RNC). The RNC began and ended with the McCain camp bashing Obama. Obama NEVER bashed Palin or her experience. The media questioned Palin's experience right after the VP announcement. Also, McCain's judgement for a hasty decision in picking Palin was questioned by the media.

Bush's ideas of a community organzier is to give millions of tax dollars to the Dobsons with his faith based intitiatives in the hopes it will get used right. Like Robertson got a ton of money to help with Katrina only it never got where it was suppose to go. Community organizers are church going people along with others that want to better their community. How these two can knocked that is beyond me. McCain votes against earmarks is a political stunt. Not all earmarks are bad example earmarking money to your state for better education is a good earmark.

I am so glad people are reacting to Palin's comment about community organizers. It was absolutely arrogant and insulting. She is the REAL elitist. She showed that by insulting all the women who fought for her right to vote as a woman. This a great ad.

Community organizing remained central to Obama long after his stint on the South Side. In the 13 years between Obama's return to Chicago from Harvard and his Senate campaign, he was very involved with the city's community-organizing groups. He wrote about the subject, attended organizing seminars, and served on the boards of foundations that support community organizing. And he pledged to bring the spirit of community organizing to the state Senate and now the Presidency.

Great video! This will send a message to Palin, Gulliani and the rest of the GOP fucks who ridicled community organisers. The GOP just doesnt get it. This is what Obama was saying in his speech about the Republicans stance: "If your are poor, or you lost your job, you're on you own..". This was beautifully done. I'm so glad that someone has recognized the great community leaders since our time. These people made great sacrifices. The Republicans should be ashamed that they mocked community organizer. They have shown that they don't care about the community. Palin is just emphasizing that she doesn't get any either and will help McCain carryout Bush's anti-community policies. We, the community, will see them at the polls in record numbers, Nov.4th. Its unfortunate that we keep forgetting to include the original American Community Organizers. The Sons of Liberty were a loose coalition of community activists who planned a response to the Stamp Tax. We need to hit them on their lack of understanding of the contribution these community organizer played in the founding of our country And remind them that our second President was a community organizer!

Community organizers ONLY have responsibilities for the people that their organization represents and the board of directors if you want to get legal. A mayor is elected and has responsibilities to ALL the population and can me removed not just by and hand full of people on the board of directors but the entire populations opinion.

It seems to me YOU don't get it either. Community is a relative term. A mayor, to use your example, or EVEN a President is also responsible for THEIR community. Their form of organizing is called a CAMPAIGN and their approval or removal by their board of directors is call an ELECTION!!!
Or as you so apply put it; just a handful of people.
