Dell XPS M1210 multimedia notebook

I still use it with windows 7 and upgraded HD 500GB, 4GB ram. I changed battery about 4 times and one time LCD inverter. It got 3.2 windows experience index. It is durable because it had accident like dropped on the floor many times. Even laptop's bottom has crack, it is still working fine. But it quite often gets blue screen error.

Finally got rid of my Dell M1210. Will probably never buy a dell again. I endured 4 years of freezing video and overheating. Much happier with the Acer laptops now.

Just upgraded my m1210 with ram for a total of 4gb and I also bought a new battery for it from Amazon ($35 is much cheaper than from Dell!) I'm about to install Windows 7 64-bit. Soon I'm going to start using this thing all the time again.

i have this laptop for almost 3 years aside from dropiping my laptop like a hundred times and the broken case cover of the laptop, it is is still working fine i cannot longer take it anywhere at is embarrising but i used as a deskptop with my 23' monitor.

Got mine three years ago, and aside from the battery never being worth much before it died prematurely, I love it. The webcam drivers have given me bluescreen grief from time to time, but I mostly work around it. Upgraded to 4 gb of memory and it still is largely a no apologies road warrior. I won't be afraid of Dell for future purchases, that's for sure.

I have this, but the only thing it doesn't have is the ability to play many games -_- right now I am limited to Warcraft 3 and Guild Wars, I can't play CoD2 or BF2, so it totally sucks... not the Laptop the inability to play. The hard drive mine came with is only about 80 GB which is the same as my Ps3 so I can't hold like... anything. Intel chipset FTL :( but if your not like me and you only want this for work, GET IT! I've had this guy for 3 years now, and still running great

I have this computer, but I upgraded it to a 320Gb 7200rpm hard disk and 4 Gb of RAM, and it's incredibly fast and does everything I want (hell, it replaced my old video camera). The only reason that this computer would lag under gaming is if you got it with the Intel GMA 945 graphics accelerator. The Nvidia GeForce 7400 Go is capable of playing a vast array of games, while the GMA isn't.

I had an XPS 1210 until last week . Some Bastard scum of the earth broke into my house on friday 15th Jan 2008 :( and stole my baby ( MAY you DIE a Pain full death) . Any way I loved it when I had this . Powerful and small the best ever .Now I am looking for laptop again and dell does not make them any more do not like 1330 or 1530 for that matter 1730 too heavy . Any suggestion with good graphics card ? I can say that XPS1210 was super and I miss you baby :(

I have one, the thing is built like a tank (not good b/c if I wanted a tank I'd get a 15" notebook instead) cause it's so heavy, the webcam SUCKS, I also experience CPU whine with this garbage which is f'ing anonying and dell says it's SUPPOSE to be whining which is BS, the screen sucks, I have to make it super bright to see any details in pictures at all, and replacement bat. costs a lot. Idea was good, but don't get this garbage.

Too bad all that nice hardware is being run on a Flinstone OS. You need so much power to run all the redundant code in the background. It has 50% efficiency as a mac. Generic OS + Generic HW = Generic Computer.

y por si fuera poco la vida de la bateria ya incremento en comparacion con las anteriores marca 6.5 o 7.5 horas, claro, en funcionamiento basico -hace tiempo que no agoto la bateria ya no recuerdo si son 6 o 7- !!! aunque el medio baja muy pronto pero las horas si se cumplen, es decir, en verdad son como 6 o 7 y 10 minutos de tener dinero para comprar otra seria igual o una xps de mejor modelo!

maquinas de familiares si le rota la camara, tiene bluetooth y hasta la posibilidad de conectarse a internet via wann TODO EN UN MISMO ESPACIO!! y bastante ligero! lo mismo podria hacer con otra pero necesitaria un bluetooth usb, una camara con mic por usb, un celular motorola conectado al usb para usarlo de modem! lo unico que falto en el diseño fue el rudimentario infrarrojo! por lo demas es un deleite cada que la uso JA

I absolutely love my M1210! 12" screen is a lovely 1280x800 widescreen format, works fine with any games. It's under 5lbs with the 3hr battery!

I have one since launch. I got all the expensive options except the webcam. it doesn't make sense since you can't upgrade to better ones as time passes and webcams are really cheap. The charging cables are a little odd and you have to roll them up everytime to put them away. I have run Doom 3, UT 2004, Scarface with all the max display properties and they run smoothly. it cost me around 1380. I got a 128mb usb memory and a mouse as a gifts which ain't much but can get you out of a tight spot.

well for someone who travels allot the the XPS M1210 is better for them. Has A Nvidia Geforce 7400 and a Core 2 Duoo Processor. I Carry a HP/Compaq NX9420 17 Inch Screen Core 2 Duo with a 7900GTX and im tired of carrying it. So ill be buying this PC in about 2 weeks. 4.4 Lbs is a perfect travel weight

I agree. However they did say that the XPS1210 can compete with most 17 screen notebooks. But you do pay an extra 1000 for the light show on the M1710. So the M1710 is sort of a ripoff to an extent.

This thing its freaking great!!!! i OWN one of these, without the Nvidia Chip but, who need that shit if you get extra battery life and the same power with the integrated card, the difference iths the clock spedd but thats not really a big deal cuz u dont need a great resolution on this small screen.

I play UT 2004 wiith all settings in high and it looks great.

Also, in this small package (stills tick) you wont get anithing close to the power of te 1210.

You can't play games at the same settings as the Nvidia card, and there's a huge difference between the Intel GMA950 and the Geforce Go 7400.

Dude you're missing SOOOO much performance from the 7400go. Seriously, the whole point that makes this laptop amazing is the fact it's an ultraportable with GOOD graphic capabilities. If you're gonna skip out on that, you might as well pick up one of those new IBM thinkpads. My dads gets over 8 hours battery life, it's nuts.
