it has lore everywere you look. especially in the cutscenes, the special solo instnaces you do with middle earth heroes as do epic stuff alone or confront huge and super powerfull servants of the dark lord. Quest for the most fun are extremly fun and never get boring if you play 4h a day. there might be out of 5 quests, 1 boring where u have to kill spiders over again. but most of the time its challenging and not intimidating. and u dont have to wonder where to go. it shows you. Lotro=LORE

Oh yes, and if LOTRO online could make a cross server LFF i would love them forever. It is pretty difficult to get in armor runs for skum, fg, dd, and some book quests if you aren't in a really active guild.

They just have different art styles and some special little gimmicks here and there. On the whole, they are not fundamentally different, I like that LOTRO is still really challenging. While WoW is getting nerfed a bit, the fact that content is accessible to casual players now is a big plus as well. Ah well, my two cents, for what they are worth. =)

I levelled another char rather than grinding gear for my hunter since I started playing MoM in June and figured there would be another expansion with new gear soon enough so I didn't really grind for gear. If you need the current radiance armour for the DG raid I guess I might've shot myself in the foot a bit.

But u didn't need it because there was enoug new stuff available that u didn't need Rift Armour anymore. Same will happen here. You will be doing Watcher and other raids as soon as ur aways into Mirkwood, with Mirkwood gear. A bit late, but you will be able to do it.

When I say hard I mean frustrating, like getting booted off the ledge in DD and the boss resets. And all the people that got their fat lootz exploited to get them. I dont know of any group that completed DD without using the door bug.
I'm one of the few hundred that played Lotro at release and were first to 50 and to achieve high lvl pvp ranks. I've been on and off of the game due to boredom with it and came back to it for Moria after all of the patches and fixes and ended up quiting again in less then a month.
because I was unable to acquire a single piece of thr RAD gear with about 3 dozen attemps in total with experienced friends who many had full RAD sets and all of them explained how easy it was before the patches and all of the exploits. Without this gear it is impossible to perform even half as well as a person with the same class with RAD gear. Therefore the game was ruined by centering it around instanced gear that was impossible to acquire anymore.
This was presented by Steefel (executive Producer of lotro) the day that they announced the mirkwood expansion. There is an addition 22 minutes of mirkwood footage at tentonhammer
Heh, that's not the impression I get from a quick glance at the EU forums. There are still a lot of supporters though, it's just a shame that the haters are a lot more vocal about their opinion. I can't wait for Mirkwood now, it should tide me over nicely before the inevitable Rohan expansion next year.
i dont think rohan is coming out anytime soon. they are probably going to head east towards Dale and the Lonely mountain as thats where the story of the Hobbit takes place and they will want it to coincide with the movies release in 2011 to attract more customers ;)

there are some boring but also lotro has many very nice and some just incredible quests. An yes they have much lore.
WoW and Lotro - best pve games. Wow has more content but Lotro has good story and lore and some innovative features

What a crock of shit!!!!
LOTRO is awesome. Majority of the quests are solo, apart from a few big instances.
Legendary weapons rocks. Add so much depth to the game.
Combat is fluid, and as smooth as hell.
I dont know what game you've been playing, but it's not LOTRO.
BTW I'm a Level 60 Dwarf Champ.
So I've NOT just started playing, been playing for almost a year.
Amazes me how many WoW ex players there are in LOTRO, and they say it blows WoW out of the water.

If you want to raid, then join a raiding kin :S You have 2 whole months to get geared. That should be enough time for everyone

The new craftable gear they released a few months back doesn't compare to RAD gear very much and isn't a fix from Turbine only failed attempt.

Turbine stated that the next expansion will be released sometime early next year. (march-april maybe?)
SoM will keep us busy enough for them to finish up the Next book (riders of rohan?)
SoM isn't meant to be the actuall annual "expansion".
