Several tips for you, TotalBisquit.

1. Press q to call the npcs following you. They won't fight the zombies, they'll just run past them.

2. Unless this is something new in the off the record edition, you don't need the combo cards to make the combo.

3. Only items with the blue wrench can be combined with others.

This is a great idea, why don't more publishers do this? Make a game using the same engine as the original and just make new environments, iron out bugs and respond to criticism then sell it at half the price as the original. Everyone wins.

You can avoid hitting the npc's using more accurate weapons (non-park bench stuff :) , if zombie is harassing the npc, jump kick is usually a good way to separate them without damaging the npc.
