  • I want to know Jesus, not myself. Introspection gets me depressed each time I do it. I would like to get an explanation for some of my cravings but other than that I don't want to know myself because it would be bad for me. I know enough about myself. :)

The point of my life, and I believe I speak for every Christian here, is to know and enjoy and treasure God. It doesn't go beyond that. Treasuring God is glorifying Him also and we were made to be filled with His infinite value. Nothing less. :)

  • This has really cleared things up for me tremendously. Thank u so much

  • StrumstickJoe said "Free yourself."

but if a person could do that, Jesus would not have had to go to the cross.

Read the word, pray and obey. Ask the Lord for what you need (He said we do not have because we do not ask ). We can ask Him to cleanse our heart with the washing of water by the word (I don't often ask for things that satisfy the flesh but for things that will draw me closer to Him).

Remember, the safest place to be is in the shadow of His wing, in His pavilion (Psalm 27:5)

  • @glubrani If you ever want to feel freedom, release yourself from the belief in a magical, all-watching, jealous, wrathful entity who wants to burn his "creations" for ever and ever.

That's freedom! It is also a most liberating experience for you to begin taking responsibility for yourself and those around you. Wonderful! You don't need the imaginary friend!

    Peace on earth.

  • The world is in terrific danger, but it is not from hordes of atheists thundering across the plain - no; it is from the fundamentalists, spurred on by their crazy beliefs, and supported by otherwise innocent and gullible followers, who give them their reason for being.

    Free yourself.

  • @StrumstickJoe @StrumstickJoe how many of these videos do you plan on commenting on? I had a discussion with you before on another video. Death, violence, and pain isn't just coming from religious persons. It's coming from people who don't fear God or think they are accountable for anything. Jesus preached love, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness. Even went as far as to say love your enemies. When you say the world is in danger due to believers, they do not practice what they preach.

  • @bpolyamorousb Hi. We meet again!

I would never say death etc., came JUST from religious persons.

I don't fear god a) because he doesn't exist, and b) because the fear of "someone who loves you" is a spooky weird concept that I want nothing to do with. Don't fear anything except your dangerous enemies here on earth - like the religious fanatics.

The bible and the koran and the torah are full of hate, anger, and murder.

Let's have peace on earth without them.

  • @StrumstickJoe okay. Believe that if that is what you truly want. Nowhere did I read Jesus preaching hate and anger. And if you truly preach peace, why go to all these videos and tell people it's all a lie?

  • @bpolyamorousb

I don't preach. i think that preaching is smug, patronising and evil.

Telling people that they do not have to be slaves to an imaginary deity is a little different. It is saying to them that they don't HAVE to follow a mystical myth just because that is the only concept of the universe that they can understand; it was OK for primitives, because they had zero science. We don't yet understand fully but we do now know that no magic is involved.

  • @StrumstickJoe When I go to church I see an entire community smiling and singing together willing to work together for a common goal. I don't see that anywhere else. Perhaps I am primitive and dumb, but I am not empty inside. Christ's teaching are far beyond anything I know and whether or not you believe they were distorted or not they are a wonderful way to live. Trust me I have tried to push away my christian faith and I can't be rid of it because I know truth when I hear it.

  • @bpolyamorousb I think that having to go to church to mutually reaffirm your beliefs might just be a sign of their weakness. Hmmm.. I wonder?

Your christ taught hate and hellfire; he was threatening and bizarre.. (or would have been)

Don't try to push away your faith; just rationalize it - it doesn't compute1 It relies on believing in magic.

    Bottom line:

I can not believe in magic, or respect a creed that does.

  • @StrumstickJoe If you say so.

  • @bpolyamorousb I do.

  • @bpolyamorousb Luke 14:26

    New International Version (NIV)

26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. "

Don't follow the contradictory, bizarre, fanatical preacher of primitive times - who, though he didn't exist, still exerts a malevolent spell on the world today because idiots chose, and choose, to kill and die for it.

    Peace.

  • Never "praise yourself", for this is to be prideful...the very cause of Lucifer's fall from heaven! Rather, let others praise you as you do the will of God and Christ Jesus.

    Patricio

  • @patparks1

    Good luck not praising yourself...

You need Jesus's tender mercies for that.

  • This is very humbling

  • Amen- I pray all the time, try me, break me,do whatever you need to do, to make me right with you. Why do I always get in the way?!!! my sins, I hate them! But still, with such patience, he loves me, and cleanse me, rebukes me, and little by little he shows what is next. I think if I knew everything about myself all at once-I would die of heartbreak.

  • Amen Sister!

  • @setfree2day

    Amen.
