Wow, I totally disagree. Yes, Smoke was different, and it did seem like a misstep at first, and took a bit of getting used to, but if you think about it, everything they did was different. I love this song, and that album...it simply Rocks.
I'm glad to finally get to see this! - can't remember why I had to miss this show. The band looks and sounds great, but you can really see why "Smoke" was such a misstep in their career. There were so many better songs a the time.
nothing wrong with smoke other than whoever made the decision to release 'turn it up or turn it off' as the first single... big mistake

Smoke was one of their finest ..
alot of great writing on that cd.....
smoke was never a misstep....
as listener's we must move along and not keep comparing it to " every other song "
