@blackwards1 don't know what country you are in but i bought IT (import from america) on DVD as a double feature with The Shuttered Room. from amazon.co.uk
@TTheSnirk EXACTLY! And by David Tennant too, who do the filmmakers think they are kidding? The remake of fright night is a pointless insult! Roddy will always be peter vincent!
@IluvKenji Pointless is precisely the word for this dumb misguided endeavor! From the trailers that I’ve seen so far, the whole thing looks to be a mess. This remake appears to have NOTHING going for it—especially when compared to the highly entertaining original(s). I can already hear the vast majority of the reviewers saying: “rent the original instead”.
@IluvKenji Cause he will be...he's the "original" Peter Vincent in the "original" Fright Night...like my Mother said the original is "always the best" :)
ok i'm going to admit something here: i had a major crush on this guy when i was 14 and it started when i saw him in Cleopatra and the scary film that took place in a haunted house. i don't know why but he was just so cute and sexy. oh; and i'm in my mid to early 30's now. *wink*!
I had wrote too Roddy on a Thursday and he passed away that following weekend. In my letter, I told him how much I liked his work, in the Planet of the apes movies, his various tv spots and his voicework on Batman, and Superman, the antimated shows, has the voice of the Mad Hatter.
I loved Roddy all my life. He is so handsome, and has that fun way about him. But did you ever notice how much Anna Paquin the actress looks like him? Was he ever married or ever have kids does anyone know?
Great tribute! Roddy is a wonderful actor! I loved his performances in movies such as Planet of the Apes, Bedknobs and Broomsticks,Second Jungle Book, Overboard, and A Bug's Life. What's the name of the war movie with him in it at 0:36?
@IluvKenji He learned he had pancreatic cancer in Apr. of 1998. He appeared to be strong thruout the ordeal. when I last talked with Roddy, he looked great, but I sensed he was really ill, tho he never told anyone he had cancer. He's at peace now and for that I'm grateful. But I do miss him a lot.
@VanDowall Roddy was a great man,I envy you that you got too talk too him.I wrote him a fan letter on a Thursday and he had passed away the following weekend. But In my letter, I told him how much I liked his movies, all the apes pictures, Fright Night and his voice work on both Superman and Batman, the antimated series. I always admired his patience too be made up as an ape,3 and a half hours is along time in the makeup chair. Then having too wear the makeup for long hours/shoots very admirable.
Unfortunately he passed away in 1998, lung cancer I believe. It was said he didn't have any enemies in Hollywood, and that his funeral was overcrowded with those paying respects
@repentorburnbaby Roddy lives in our memories. he was born Mon.Sept.17.1928, led a great life; no regrets, then passed away at 7:30a.m. on Saturday Oct.03.1998. He was 70.

Very nice. I think he was highly under rated as an actor. He had an impressive movie & tv list.

He must have been the nicest person in the world. He spent his whole life in Hollywood and never made an enemy. In Hollywood, that is unheard of.
