Billy Preston also deserves credit for being a 5th Beatle- he played on their albums many times-never live or tv or anything, never famous, just a hard worker and peacemaker in the band behind the scenes. And yes, I know that they're recording, and not necessarily performing (despite the cameras--which Paul was very much aware of), but I think Paul had it ingrained in him to be the ultimate showman and performer. I can really see why Paul liked the more simplified version.

The sparse arrangement seems to add alot more to the mood of the song.
