  • Canción aburrida y cantante malo hasta decir basta.

  • Fuck! this is better than the fucking Bublé doing horrible covers. JACK POT Robbie, you did it great!

  • ¡¡¡¡¡ MA RA VI LLO SOOOOOO !!!!!!!

  • Never the same as the masters of the years of the big band. (sinatra, darin, davis jr., martin, so on)

  • Robbie you are a great performer!!!

  • I think this is probably the best I've heard him sing. Fantastic. Thanks for posting it

  • Damn he nailed it.

  • Wow he sounds the exact same live as the album.

  • Cette imitation de Bobby Darin est pitoyable.

  • Why is it so difficult for some people to understand that Robbie didn't try to "up stage" anyone - He just LOVE this era of music, and did a remarkable Tribute! :-)

  • @TheRobster67 Exactly! People just dont get it do they?

  • pretty nice (:

  • This is a true wonderful version of Mack the knife!

From italian tv with MINA :

    /watch?v=c6tCT66zJx8

  • Poor performance...

  • shame that he cant sing.

  • First class performance. Love it love it ,love it

  • wanker.

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!

  • The original is a german song.

  • as a Yank, this the first time I heard Robbie. I'm impressed.

  • This was when he was in the prime of his career and then it all went a little south he will never reclaim that again just an opinion

  • @MrPembo101 I'm a huge Robbie fan, but I agree! This is him at his true best, and I don't think he'll ever recapture the perfection he had here. I miss performances like these. Ly x

  • @PSGProductions271 I watched this on TV and sang this at my mums wedding I am a rock fan but jazz is close to my heart and Robbie was the first musician I liked myself not thanks tpo other people it is a shame that he is now helps on x factor and went back to take that xxx

  • Ralph salmins u ledgend. Oh and robbie too :P

  • wth are you talking about???? leswhitestone.u wrong, ese.

  • That introduction is so simple, but it is the best one out there!

  • Expressionless, plastic performance, no involvement, no understanding of the song. Just another cover to fill the programme. Sad

  • @leswhitestone In your opinion :)

  • @leswhitestone and ur a genius i guess

  • I still don't understand why he isn't more popular here in the states. WTH is wrong with people? He's amazing!

  • @dlrmo6370

what passes for music in the US is the 24/7 crap on commercial radio. real music like this a niche market.

  • Brecht!! :D

  • Robbie was born to sing, and he is a natural born entertainer. Thank you, Robbie! :o)

  • robbie is the best singer

  • love robbie wsat knebworth 2003 sunday red hot love yarob xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Once again, this just shows how incredibly versatile this guy is - excellent performance - I'm not crazy about the remakes of mega hits like this that have become "signature" songs of another artist but Williams does it justice.

  • I like The Uncle Albert Hall.

  • GREAT!!!! BRAVO!!!!!

  • I'm a huge fan of Ella Fitzgerald and nobody will ever sing Mack The Knife so perfectly great like she did - but Robbie does a pretty good job here, it sounds so light and easy, I like it. :)

  • Brilliant!

  • to musicforever1987, thank you very much for your work.

  • I didn't think this was possible but his version is crazier than Darins.

  • @lordofzaptherapy

    Crazier..maybe but not better..

    Check out Bobby's live versions..

Robbie is amazing but Darin is a legend and nobody comes close..

  • @lovemusic745 Oh I never thought he could beat Darin. And he never will. Darin always had way more class and that's really what counts.

  • when i heard this on pandora, i legit thought he was like 90 years old and this song was from the 50s.... are there any more new artists like this?! if so PLZ TELL ME NAMES

  • @karkrashful

Michael Bublé Honey ! So cute & such a awesome velvety voice

  • the fasle twat destroys this song, its the old my career is going downhill so i'll do a swing album ploy. what a wanker!

  • Not bad, but he hell ain't Bobby Darin! :o)

  • @STUCK2U - not bad????? It's absolutely awful. Anyone who even considers liking this knows nothing about swing or even good singing.

  • @the1musiclad

Wake up already, it's 2011. Sometimes old-time singers are praised way too much. Just because they created the classics doesn't mean they can't be matched and never will be. Good performance here and with such ease :)

  • @Dennis450D I fully agree with you. Robbie Williams' performance is, under my point of view, exceptionally.

  • @Dennis450D - yes it is 2011. swing music died over 30 years ago and if this is the best 'singers' can do now then it should stay that way. The old timers aren't praised too much at all (with exception of maybe Elvis). Bobby Darin was not the first singer to perform this song but he was definitely the best. This pathetic version doesn't even rank in the top 100 (if it ranks at all). I am honestly astounded that people think this is good. What are you all listening to????

  • I didn't know Bruce Willis was a conductor!

  • @Lumiare more like the guy from pawn stars

  • @Lumiare yeah they even have his initials in lights!

  • @Lumiare LMFAO brightened up my day

  • @Lumiare he's an actor, why is that a problem that he's acting as a conductor in this clip?

  • @Lumiare You didn't my gosh... he is huge! lol

  • He IS easy on the eyes, though. Better to play this link on "mute."

  • He's not a Jazz musician

  • @NatiHistorymaker Why should that change anything? It's still a good song (In my eyes)

Or were you insinuating that by leaving a comment saying that he isn't a Jazz musician, as more of a "this style of music doesn't suit him" kinda of way?

  • I like him grinning. :D

  • good voice but the performance was annoying and i dont know why

  • @SnippoX360 I'd say the opposite :P

  • what a legend

  • love how he calls out his mum

  • Magnifico!!!

  • /watch?v=LMqMIMrU6tI

    best Robbie interview ever

  • ute lemper e hildegard knef, milly e marlene dietrich molto brave con questo pezzo "mackie messer"

  • Супер! Не устаю его слушать!

  • Молодец, отлично поет, не хуже Луи Армстронга!

  • @InnaSarkisova

he is ok, but Armstrong is the best

  • He does see us that music is easy and cool.

  • @2:51 IT'S JIM CARREY

  • OMG!

  • Some have said that he's way too happy for a song about a murderer cum rapist. Well, in my opinion, look at the music and melody, ain't it already cheerful? I think the song just has the lyrics for some singing, or you know what? Screw it, just check out this catchy song and screw the context! LOL

  • Thumbs up if you saw his teleprompter !

  • 73 personas, no saven lo que es musica ¬¬

  • You can tell he really loved singing this great and classic song. And I like the tribute to the Rat Pack but especially to Bobby Darin.

  • bad version....

  • @Intosia i don't agree u... :P

  • @Intosia at least he is the only one trying to sing the good songs from back in the day

  • It takes him a couple of verses, but he finally gets his groove and swings. This is one of those bellwether songs that you get to hear many singers sing. It's really interesting to hear all the different interpretations.

  • 3:17 epic face, :D

  • terrible sung

  • Christ people, when give free reign, can talk some shit on this site.

  • Robbie William's music and performance is absolutely incredible. The only better rendition that I have ever heard of "Mack The Knife" was Ella Fitzgerald. Thanks, Robbie....great music in a very difficult generation of globalization, wars and world-wide economic devastation....please keep singing.....thank you from Denver, Colorado...

  • @sonjaantke Or Darin? oO

  • "how ya doin' mum?"

  • I know 'The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui' was about Hitler when he CAME to power. Brecht wrote the 'Threepenny Opera' as a sort of wake up call to Hitlers apparent rise and seeking to rise to power and acceptability in a similar way as Mack the Knife did. Brecht was an absolute anti fascist and saw his writings as part of the struggle against that - in fact he was number 2 on Hitlers death list. As for Robbie Williams, yes I actually do believe he is an idiot, misinformed and totally clueless.

  • He's singing it like - Mack the Knife - oh that cheeky, funny chap, 'our boy' Macky. He (Robbie Williams) has absolutely NO IDEA what so ever about the context, Macky - represents Hitler and his rise to power in pre Nazi Germany. I can't believe how anyone could sing this and not think about the sinister, dark context of the lyrics and the song. He really is so flippant and so ridiculous - 'hello Mum' I mean what a total wanker!

  • @BPCpresents The link with Hitler is tenuous at best (it was released 6 years before he was Fuhrer), I believe you're thinking of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.

Even still, he's just performing a song for an audience; to call him a 'wanker' simply for his choice of song is perhaps harsh. A song's supposed meaning doesn't have to be taken seriously or acknowledged (especially when metaphorical). Sweet Home Alabama was written by two men from Florida and one from California, it doesn't ruin it.

  • @BPCpresents why does everyone have to talk about hitler on youtube? Also eveyone knows that mack the knife was based on the character of macheath from John Gay's The Beggar's Opera. Macheath in turn was based on notorious English criminals such as Jack Sheppard. Any of this information can be found on the internet. You have a computer in front of you, use it.

  • @jackgreaves18 Yes we know all that - how dull! I've not seen much on here about Adolf Hitler to be honest at all. What youtube clips are you scanning? Dodgy ones I suspect if you've got a radar for Adolf Hilter. Hmmm, you've got a computer in front of you - don't use it.

  • @BPCpresents Godwin's rule

  • What a fake!!!!!

  • his personal charm was filled the concert perfectly.

  • asi como el tiburon tiene unos dientes preciosos, cariño y los enseña blancos como perlas macheath, tiene una navaja, cariño y la mantiene escondida... hermoso me encantaaa

  • He had that special presence on stage! Thank U for sharing.

  • soulful and crazy as a jazz perfrmance should be...... great live!!!!

  • He should stop with his little boy band and sing the kind of songs he sang in this one night only show. He could bring back this great music genre.

  • He's is ok, but i dont think he has that special thing that makes him unique, like sinatra.

  • Robbie jest zajebisty co tu o nim gadać. Wszyscy się ze mną zgodzą!!!! Robbie is the KING!!!

  • robbie is one of the best!!! you can see the fire in his eyes, filled with passion for the music!

  • such a great song, sung by a great singer!

Just fantastic and so much better than Frank Sinatra :$

  • This is great... but nowhere near Bobby Darin's caliber... Sorry, kid... keep working.

  • I love Robbie Williams

  • Robbie! You did it and You did it GOOD! Luv Ya xxx

  • this is a wonderful version not robbie williams !

    /watch?v=c6tCT66zJx8&feature=related

  • Ohhhhh I just love him so much.

  • Amazing rendition! And let's face it: Williams has 3 times the voice Darin had.

  • @odracirseraoseia1999 I think RW rocks/swings/entertains with the best, but not three times as good as Bobby Darin, my opinion, check out some of the Darin clips on here, he is truly superb, and it seems effortless. Yes agree though that this was and is a great version also.

  • This is is a wonderful version look of Mack the knife :-)

    /watch?v=c6tCT66zJx8&feature=related

  • Robbie sang Mack the Knife a la Bobby Darin ("Look out ol' Mack is back" is a BD signature). Also sang Beyond the sea, a la Bobby Darin. Then, sang Things, a la Bobby Darin, of course, being BD the composer. Was Bobby Darin even mentioned in this concert? Or was used his image on the screen on stage?

  • das waren noch zeiten....

  • cool

  • Nice to see Robbie understands what this songs about, he seems so happy to be singing a song about rape and murder

  • @Mewan93 I think it is more just him enjoying what he is doing. Watch anyone preform this, not one of them would look serious. Its just not the feel of the song.

  • Immense

  • la voz le sale tan natural,, que lindo cantante y extraordinario interprete.

  • He makes performing look so easy

  • @zippu92 God he kills this song......So sad really a great tunes.....

  • My dear best friend emigrated to the States from SA 3 years ago and this song always reminds me of him. So whenever I miss him, I play this and feel a lot of joy!

  • im not a big fan of robbie but i must admitt he is awesome and singing swing!!! xx

  • i love this plays at the end of finding nemo <3

  • You've got to be kidding. Bobby Darin's made music history. No 1 for nine straight weeks, on the top 40 charts for 52 straight weeks, Grammy winner, Best Song. The only single to be released from an album by popular demand. Picked by Billboard as the No 3 top song of all time. Darin's name is synonymous with the song. Even Sinatra said Darin owned it. Sinatra's recording of it with Jimmy Buffet is terrible. Robbie borrows alot from Darin's arrangement and perfomance of it.

  • @MrsMorse Did it ever occur to you, that the song is "owned" by Bertold Brecht writing the (originally german) lyrics and Kurt Weill composing the music? Both were communists from Berlin, by the way. And hunted by the McCarthy committee.

  • Good performance but Bobby Darin owns this song. He'll always be the greatest entertainer ever, but Robbie is great

  • @MrsMorse I think you mean Frank Sinatra "owns" this song!

  • Good performance but Bobby Darin owns this song.

  • I love the conductor!! He really get's into it at the latter part of the song....

  • smug faced monkey would make u vomit

  • he is soooooo fuckin amazing and GORGEOUS

  • This version is awful compared to some of the classic ones out there (Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.)

  • no matter. mr. Darin is still king.

  • robbie williams is the by-product of a manufaturered band and really is not a good musician, he never wrote a song hes neverde played an instrument hes justa t.v. personality who feeds teh docile masses with the cultural garbage they so love to consume (i do however like the song its a classic) i urge you to listen to Darins version or better yet Nick Cave does a really good version with a dirty carnival feel to it

  • @gar77772221able1 bullshit...he wrote many songs...but you cant know that cause you think you have an idea but you dont have...so go in your kindergarden and play with puppets instead of writing stupid comments..

  • @gar77772221able1 I sorta have to agree with you here.

  • @gar77772221able1 cheeky robbie is class no need fr those words

  • great tribute!

  • 3:22: "damn-this-is-so-good-music-face"

  • Bobby Darin. That is all.

  • Amazing, top of his career!
