I disagree. Contextually, the song matches the environment. "Princes of the Universe" is a good lyrical backdrop for a space-battle scene. As well as "fighting for survival"

I hate how the computer reads how many ships you have at the end of a mission and then in the next mission, the computer will have a fleet 2-3 times the size of you own fleet. If you ask me, its an unfair advantage.

they implemented this to avoid the major exploit of HW1, which was you could capture a lot of ships to beat the pop cap and then be unstoppable.

The trick to this game was recycling ships at the end of missions, but i prefer the brute force of overwhelming odds.

The campaign was such a massive dissapointment tho. They rushed it to stores and killed the whole story, so Im sure they also rushed some other aspects of the game.

i love those battlecruisers so frackin much. Playing single player against the computer isnt overly fun. I havent been able to play against anyone online since I got into this game way late.

Anyhow, despite the despicable destruction the developers caused to the game's storyline, HW2 was a pretty awesome game.

this was out WAY before Sins, homeworld 2 came out in 2002-3. homeworld 1 came out in 1999.

it is a very slow game to play, but when you have the biggest fleet you can build, with all capital ships and all fleet ships, it is a very fun game to watch, particularly when the AI opponents starts to attack your incoming fleet, only to turn and run when the rest of the ships arrive lol

pisses me off how a higarian battl cruiser always turns around when firing all of its manin guns. SOOOO anoying, it would have been my favorite ship if not for the turning part. Otherwise, vaygr battle crusier is amazing. Big, heavily armed, badly designed but immensily powerfull, sorta like any russian submarine. Trinity cannon is a god.

there is a bug that allows you build above unit limit. For example, i accidently (yeah, accidently) made 7 Battlecruisers

Or you could on death match change the options from default to high, which allows up to 50 capital ships, destroyers are faster to build then battlecruisers, but battlecruisers are vastly superior in damage and armor

If im not mistaken the game was released in 2004. I could be wrong. The game still looks good today and is unrivaled by any other space RTS to this day. The reason this game looks so good is because there is practicly no enviroment. Its just ships and a backround image. This alows for lower systems to play this game as this game looks awsome there realy isnt a whole lot thats actualy needed to be rehnderd.
