It's slot easier to look flawed when playing a player of such High level...and if he's playing klahn he's obviously high up in the line up for his team so yes, he should be playing d1 tennis
I wonder why people think that Tommy Tu isn't good just because he didn't play good in this match...He's very good! and to top him, his younger brother Thai Tu is even better!!
You people who think a 4.5 could get 2 games a set off these guys are idiots. I'm a 4.5 player and there is no way I could get more then a game off these guys per set. And that's me playing amazing and them not caring. These guys are 6.0 - 6.5 players.
i have seen this guy play...and brad is better but don't be trashin on him... he is a lot beetter... but he probably lost his confidence after loosing a set.
@odingr unlike a 3.0-4.0 with a few margins that set them apart, between a 6.0-7.0 there is an extremely large amount of space between these 2. so them being a 6.0 and federer being a 7.0 theres a really big margin between these college students and fed a professional player
Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this. I felt a little weird drawing that comparison, but apparently it's dead on (like I thought). Although Roddick has altered his a bit in recent years (a bit more pointing up before the pivot). But it's pretty dead on, nonetheless.
Also this is nice to watch, one b/c the quality is so good and two b/c they skip the time in between points. I think tennis would be funner to watch if they didn't allow so much time in between points. It slows the game down so much and makes it boring to the fans I think. Im saying instead of having 25 seconds or whatever it is, maybe 10-15 seconds????
but then you miss stuff. like players swearing and getting pissed off. arguing with the umpire (think mcenroe). We also see how the players body language is between points which is important.
Why should I so you can stalk me I don't think so and seriously this fucken yellow guy made what 5 double faults? Honestly if you know anything about tennis you would know he sucks he is just returning the ball and not even attacking.
well im not saying that he wouldn't absolutely destroy you in a match but their is a reason hes 115 nationally and the other guy is 52 nationally and creaming him
easier said then done, playing against a guy like klahn is very hard to attack, plus it is very wimdy that day too, tommy has to play against the wind also, brad is just way too good
Can i just add, the facilities in the usa are fantastic compared to the ones here in England, and were the guys who invented the game ! Im lucky to belong to a tennis club with decent facilities, but many other clubs are very poor over here. So in a way you guys are very lucky in that respect :)
I actually saw Klahn play both finals in Ojai, and became kinda his fan. I love his dynamic form, and his shot is deadly accurate..just never missed the corner..thanks for the video!
To Tu's defense, Klahn has beaten a lot of opponents during has fantastic freshman season. In fact, he just won the Pac-10 singles and Pac-10 doubles titles (with fellow freshman Ryan Thacher).
Yeah the guy who won deserved to, i mean the guy in yellow was hitting body shots, not aiming for the corners and he didnt look confident at all. Well done to Brad.
This match wasn't even fair. Tu got trashed so bad haha.

Let's look at the level of top college players from the perspective of how they compete among pros.
Example 1: Somdev Devvarman. Soon to be top 100 ATP, former player from UVA.
Example 2: Stevie Johnson (from USC). He qualified for the main draw of the LA Tennis Open this past year, beating Chris Guccione on the way.
These guys are not top 20 players. they are not the best. but they are a shit-ton better than any NTRP ranking can describe.

Odinger Klahn is a solid 6.0. You have to understabd if the NTRP went above 7.0 Federer would probably be a 54545454

wow Klahn got some monkey looking forehand

6.0 at least. they are top ranked college players

6?? thats too much! federer is a 7 and he is a 6?
