@WisdomInHeresy It's great. You can change it to quiet down for each kick, make it more pronounced for each kick, and do so much more with the threshold and knee parameters.

Yea, its a Compressor and Side Chain in the Same time he used the Kick Drum to Side Chain With..and yes the Side Chain Feature was on..

@ESessionsLabel The video had no sidechain. If the sidechain is on as you say the he is compressing the percussion (inc kick) with a sidechain from the kick, which is odd. He used a default compressor, which isnt set to sidechain. And in order to use a sidechain you have to specifically choose the sidechain source, which he didnt.

Also a compressor being a compressor and a sidechain 'at the same time' is very misleading.

@marcotenshi I concur. I've made the mistake of sidechaining my drum compressor with the kick, and what ends up happening is the kick attenuates itself and ends up nearly disappearing.
