I never said that Sheva and Chris were racing. I said that he is not slow as it seems. If Chris managed to counter Wesker's attacks(who is far more powerful tham Mendez's), Leon's melees would not be a problem to him. Despite Leon's skills, Chris was also trained in several martial arts, knive combat and is a excellent sniper. And, technically, Chris in fact DEFEATED Wesker, as of Leon defeated Mr.X and Saddler (with Ada's help in both situations).

Who said that Chris is slow? At the end of Re5, he ran faster than Sheva, who is more acrobatic and agile than him. Also, Chris is very tough, once Wesker tried to take him down several times, but Chris STILL remained stand for fighting. He can easily beat Leon, who cannot even take a punch from Bitores Mendez without being knocked out. Wesker was much more ninja than Leon; yet he was defeated by Chris.

Leon is a good fighter, but he will never beat Chris in a mano-a-mano.

Chris and Sheva were not racing. Chris had to be first to lift Shevas smaller body. Sheva was the one keeping up with the jet while it was picking up on speed. And Leon was trapped in a tight room and outnumbered when he was knocked out. If Chris was in the same situation Mendez would've knocked him out too. What would Chris do? punch Mendez? shoot him? that close? It would be a wrap for anybody. Also four ppl defeated Wesker not Chris. Leon also has more tactical and natural fighting skills.

I feel that Leon would come out the winner, based on his speed and quick execution of his attacks. It was seen in his blade fight with Jack Krauser and also in the way he pulled his blade on Ada Wong after she flipkicked his gun away. Chris has some speed and power on his side but even though he was holding back a bit in his fight with Jill, he was still getting his ass kicked and probably would have had his arm or leg broken if not for the presence of Sheva. Leon can counter all physical attack
