This was fun! I love it how they both nearly lose it on 2:00 after Chita says "sometimes I'm no lady" and Liza retorts "yeah, you got that right". Funny!!!!!
... more fond memories: like when I actually got lost back stage trying to find the orchestra pit to play drums for this performance at Radio City! - exactly like the scene in "This Is Spinal Tap!" What a pleasure it was playing for Chita and Liza: two great ladies!
@amazinggarrett1 One of the mistakes that viewers of You Tube often make is they don't take the venue into consideration, nor from where the clip was shot. Yes, they have a lot of make up...because RADIO CITY has over 6000 seats! This musical was dreary despite their performances. The score was very mediocre.
Liza and Chita had first worked together when Liza subbed for Gwen Verdon in "Chicago"; they enjoyed working together so much that when the opportunity of reuniting for "The Rink" came along, it was irresistible.
Okay, so looking at it... the best guess i think I can come up with is that it's Liza with her hair out of her face... but it looks a helluva lot like Chita.
LOOK AGAIN AT THE LOGO IT IS BOTH OF THEIR PROFILES CHITA IN WHITE LIZA IN RED!

Great duet. They went OVERBOARD with the makeup, tho. I mean, look at their faces!
amazinggarrett1 1 year ago
@amazinggarrett1 Well, its stage make-up. The people in the back row have to see their make-up.
westsidestory97 1 year ago
@westsidestory97 I know about stage makeup - I'm an actor myself. They put a bit too much on even allowing for the fact that it's stage makeup.

@amazinggarrett1 Im an actor too. (: I suppose... but anyhow, they both still look fabulous. <3 (:
westsidestory97 1 year ago
@westsidestory97 Oh, I don't disagree with you about the way they look... I was just commenting that the makeup on their faces is slightly overdone.

@BroadwayGuy25 I was lucky enough to see that show !

The logo is a silhouette of both Liza's and Chita's faces. If the implication is that it's Judy's, it's not.

I saw this show with these grand dames ... now that is TALENT!
Great entertainers ... they don't make them like that anymore.

I'm confused???? I thought Judy Garland was Liza's mother? I'm sorry I don't know the story, but is she her step mom or something?
andreaburnett 2 years ago
This was a number from the broadway show, THE RINK, which they both starred in. Has nothing to do with Judy Garland. She was long dead by then!
KokoPuffs52 2 years ago
Judy is Liza's mother, this is acting, it is from the broadway show "the rink".
JansterBanana 2 years ago
Judy Garland is Liza's mother, this is just the lyrics to the song, meaning that Liza (daughter) isn't very different from her mother (Chita).

@andreaburnett Liza's mother is JUDY GARLAND! the legend!
