I love gunsmoke...truly a mans show with heart...but what pisses me off is that Festus never gets laid!!! I just watchd an episode where a pretty lady visits his room (during a time when he wasnt injured), sits on his bed and talk for a minute. Afterwards, she so thankful for his help she wants to kiss him. Hes so shy he resists, they roll around the bed and wake up her family. The next thing you know, he has guns pointed at his face. BOOOO
That is one of the finest episode I've ever watch, and this cute looking lady named, Ellie is the fine looking type of woman that the guy like me, would dream of having her, it is very rare to see one like that kind of lady today.
Its also nice watching without all the comercials of that era, like Cal Worthington trying to sell used cars with his dog Spot and then the green giant corn comercials.
That girl is way finer than that skank saloon hussie miss kitty. No doubt there was quite a bit of obligin' and reckonin' on that prairie between Matt and the girl then he dumps her off.
My Grandpa, Harvey Ross was in Mr. Arness' outfit at Anzio, my Grandpa died last year, now this year Mr. Arness died. RIP old soldiers, they were some damn good men.
The opening looks so cheap here with the painted backdrop. Everything in the town was done on soundstages with painted backdrops in the later seasons but it's still a great show. The scene with Dillon assaulting the guy in the street was surprising; the series is well done and frequently surprising. Wonder if Festus, the best character, is in this one.

well to sit things straight southern people which i am never have talked that way or do we go around giving our daughters away to strangers or anyone else. i loved watching those gunsmoke TV shows but get tired of the [ hill billy ] thing, i no its only a tv show but some people think that southern people are that way and its false, one time a couple of people came down to tn from NY and wanted to see a moonshine still and meet BOSS HOGG we told them he was in KY and the feds broke the still

I like how Matt is such an honorable guy, shows the contrast with all of the psychos, killers, con artists, and lazy good for nothings that seem to pass through town.
