  • What ur highlight color ? :)

  • is this chick some sort of goofball or what?!\

first learn what ur doin! your doing every wrong ahhh ihave to stop watching this it is a crime for hair!

  • what hair color product did you use? :D

  • Definietely like this video. I have been thinking of doing the foil, but this video showed me that it is as easy as I thought. If you have the bucks to go professional... good for you. but not everyone wants to spend the bucks. I agree with the do-it-yourself or have a friend help. This is not hard and you can get fantastic results. Been frosting mine for years with the help of the professionals at Sally's Beauty Supply. Their staff will answer all your questions.

  • I hate ur freaking straight hair. Hmphf!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU WERE A BIG HELP! YOU GO GIRL!

  • hi i liked ur video and u did a good job u like it and thats all that matters! i wanna do my own to im thinking of purchasing at sallys.

  • ughhhh please nevvvvver do that

  • ... p.s i was not being mean, i am just trying to help.

  • no offense but that is so damaging! (professionally speaking) Spend the money and get your hair done professionally, its sooo worth it! you have no idea how much damage box colour does. By looking at your that pieces that were bleached it was not lifted light enough, its brassy and uneven. Just some words of advice :)

  • @just2goofs I liked the result though, and my hair bounced back from it OK. I wouldn't try to maintain this by myself though.

  • @wheat636 yeah the hair does have to ability to return to a healthier state. Next time you do it at home, just go to the beauty supply store to purchase your color from them, its much safer this way! The section of hair you are coloring/bleaching should be really thin slices (you should be able to read a newspaper through the section of hair that you are bleaching) apply the colour on a foil that is slightly longer, then fold the foil up nice and neat and continue working up!

  • @just2goofs I have had my hair professionally done many times and been very unhappy with the results...and more than one time. I now do my own hair color and its turns out great each time I do it. I know what product, how long. and the cost is great

  • I did that on every bit of my hair woke up took foil out and my hair was blonde Ekk my mum was like WTF

  • You are awesome ty very much you explained it so simply and showed me what to do all these other vids complicate it and don't really show the process ty ty <3

  • Heyyyy, did you bleach your hair before you did this?

  • @xxbia No, the highlight cream has bleach in it so I didn't need to. I'm not sure how this would work on black hair that's very stubborn (non-porous), because my hair is pretty easily colored.

  • terrible.

  • @peachkiiss I KNO thats what i was gonna say 2!!

  • thank you sooo much they will be blue

  • I def have to get highlights like this I already seem pale and its not even winter yet. I want my hair to look shiny and pretty.

  • Im gonna try this tonight with putting light pink under layers in to my white-blonde (im Fininsh!) hair, I am only worried about bleeding because it would show alot because my hair is so light and fine.

  • thx very much !!

  • thanks!i'm going to try it later.

  • youre pretty

  • looks really pretty stylish

  • how long you keep the foil on?

  • @sausageprincess0070 I did 35 minutes.

  • NEXT TIME GO TO A SALON PLEASE... NICE FACE... THO

  • @VUITTON8010 lol thanks

  • It came out soooo cute! You made me wanna try this in a few days(: Thankyouu!

  • Thanks that was cool

  • sexy, and looks good ;) have to do that to my gfs hair today..... lol told her id do it for free cause ive dyed my hair before?! she was gonna pay like 45 dollars "please dont screw this up" fingers are crossed lol nice vid!

  • @gehnnawarrior13 Thanks! And lol that may not be the best idea but you two would have a lot of fun!

  • sorry just trying to be helpful

  • you got like 5 diff colors going on dont fold the foils like that it wont be even. you have to be even with the foils and u dont have to rush color it will stop at a certin time so u leave it on for 30 min and then u leave everything on for that time it will be even cause color doesnt process after a certine time

  • @jenjen050688 yeah but if you're using a bleach it will continue to develop, it doesn't stop after a certain amount of time. only tints do that.

  • no no no

  • I FUCKING love ur hair cut!!!!

  • @XTinaxxLove02 Thanks girl!

  • @wheat636 oh np! :D I love how u rock the short bob!!!

    Be feirce girl!

  • great video. Thanks!

  • for doing streaks on dark hair dont you have to bleach it first? and also how long do you keep the foil there for

  • @DRbeeper001 I didn't bleach it and I think for highlights the bleach is in the cream (it's harsher than regular hair dye). Hope that helps :)

  • Thanks for ur video upload!

  • @YamTwvHuab You're very welcome :)

  • i got onto youtube today to find a video on how to highlight with foils and yours was one of the first one - i was pretty excited when i saw your shirt said kappa phi lambda since i'm a kappa too, ahaha. good video - it'll help me out later when i streak my bottom layers purple (:

  • At a salon, you get what you pay for. I can quickly run up a 500$ bill at a reasonable salon w/ my hair's texture/thickness/length. When I can afford it, I go cause it's a pain to do it myself.

Unfortunately, I can't spend that regularly. My mum was licensed & taught us. I buy my products & tools from a supply store. I also take the time to research technique.

Is my hair going to look as PERFECT as it would if I had had it done by a TRUE pro? No. Does it mean my hair is BAD cause I do it? No.

  • @lilmissveevee I agree completely!

  • Great video. How long did you allow the dye and foil to stay on your head?

  • @SoDeVine2Fine I let it sit for about 30 minutes, longer than the recommended time, because my hair always takes longer to develop and it's coarse.

  • awesome awesome! 5/5! i wish i can higher than this but i can't! well....it looks easier than i thought it would be. i'll do it whenever i have time =DD

  • @pinkshiet Did you end up trying this? And thanks for the rating, glad you liked it :)

  • i dont think peekaboo highlights a cool. theyre stupid... arent you supposed to see the highlights? there isnt any point of having them when no one can see them. i have highlights in my hair n i didnt use the foil trick it looks better then that! n i dont think anyone can hear u with u sqeeky n quit voice. n this isnt helpful at all. its a waist of my time!

  • wow... security issues maybe? I think the subtle highlights are great. And her voice is fine. I think you're obviously overcompensating for something. All signs are pointing to "crazy".

  • ?? the point of peekaboo highlights are for when you put your hair up, you can see them. they are not stupid at all. if this video was such a "waste of your time" why did you take the time to write a paragraph response to it when you could have left the page? i think this comment is a little attention seeking. why do people like you go around youtube spreading negativity anyway? are you a little insecure maybe?? just a theorie.....

  • @16brooke1992 actually the point of peekaboo hightlights are to give dimension to the hair, they grow out more 'naturally' or not as noticeably, and are meant to be seen other than just when you pull your hair back.

  • Well, it's hard doing one's own hair, so how can anyone be critical of her for not doing everything perfect? I've been wanting to highlight/streak my hair and may consider trying this. It's so expensive to go get streaks done at the salon.

  • ur pretty! (= thanks for sharing the video!

  • @cheeselover5255 You're welcome, glad you liked it :)

  • Im gonna try this but first is that normal foil paper u use for cooking?

  • yup that's what I used :)

  • lol i thought i was silly for using cooking foil myself. But it works and het its cheaper.

  • thanks. helpful..

  • u were really helpful!

  • i think they look cute! and i really like the color :)

  • I'd rather get help from a dead rat than from you.

Ok, OK, but on a more serious note, I really want to apologize for being young, successful, and able to have fun and not take things too seriously...fuck, I feel so guilty about doin what I want with my own hair because an anonymous hairdresser on Youtube yelled at me...I hope you'll forgive me :<

  • @ciao614 You know Maureen, potential employers and clients do frequently search the net for info on job candidates.

  • @ciao614

It's not an invasion of privacy when you've posted your name and it's readily available by googling your user name.

As for being a know-it-all.. apparently I underestimated how clever my username is. It's Vee.

You're the one who chose to start this shit with me. From the safety of your keyboard no less. Skank please! I won't reply anymore to your vomit. Have a nice life under your lonely rock!

  • I dont understand what is wrong with her

She try to show how is it done in novel level

    Good work and Thanks

I got my basic ideas That is all I need

  • to all the hair stylists complaining. I did my own hair because stylists wanted to TELL me how my hair should look. I did the blonde at home myself and you know what I saved a TON of money doing so. Maybe when its cheaper to go to a salon then more of us will stop watching these videos. To the person that made this: Ignore the nasty hairstylists. I think the video is great.

  • I agree, Ive been doing my own hair- cut. color and highlights and have been getting compliments even from professionals. Its saved me soo much money. I think its great to post stuff like this, thanks :)

  • I do agree it is very expensive to do your hair at a salon! I am a stylist. and i think these videos you guys do for each other is great. I guarantee every stylist that is bitching is probably terrible anyway. THey let anyone cut and color hair now a days. But I do have to say that i paid big bucks to go to school for hair and there are reasons why we get paid like we do. We have to know about the chemicals we're using and exactly what its going to do to hair.

  • I mean i had to learn about every bone and organ in the body too! I do understand why all the stylists are getting mad. Because from our point of view it looks bad. But if thats what you want to do then keep on doing it. I do do videos on hair, but i can only do so much. Because i dont want people trying this at home i want them coming to see me to get their hair done. But i do give tips and answer questions so stop by my page guys!

  • I'm a hair stylist and people like this that turn their hair orange or mess it up is what keeps me in business! I'm sorry but if you specialize in something and you see someone doing it the wrong way, it makes you cringe! Seeing her sectioning with her fingers, using a crooked foil is .....ahh!! Also, when you highlight, when you take a thin slice of hair, it should be no more than 1/8 of an inch wide. The thicker you want it, you do foils back to back. Big slices create bleeding of the colr :(

  • If you don't want to look ridiculous, just don't do this. Like the sidebar says, I had fun and it worked. Not trying to teach and not trying to be a pro.

  • xXsomthingXx says..."i use this name every site i go to, favorite quote: "Arguing over the internet is like being in the special Olympics even if you win your still retarded" ..so are YOU retarded??..LMAO!

    Good one Alexander!

  • and BTW you should NEVER fold the foil MORE THAN ONCE or you will cause stress and breakage on that area that has the hilight mixture on it. Please people just go visit your local beauty school. it's inexpensive and you will love what they do or they fix it for free! We never had ehough clients in out beauty school some days when I was in school 20 years ago. They really need the experience and you will love being pampered!

  • to the username: ciao614

what so just b/c your a professional LICENSED hairsytlist means we cant dye our own hair??? Im not a professional LICENSED hairsytlist and i do other poeples hair, i learned it and just intend to do it myself also, dont tell her what to do. If your so good than make your own vid, if that works fine to her than hey its fine, its none of your concern!!

  • a half inch section is way to much hair! take two 1/4 inch sections or better yet take four 1/8 sections the smaller the section the faster the bleach will work and the blonde will be an even colour it wont turn orange or have spots

  • What I can't figure out is how to rinse it out, without getting dye on other areas.

  • Rinse with cold water first and it won't bleed

  • I rinsed like I normally would after shampooing. I'm no pro, but it makes sense that the water would buffer the chemical from absorbing into your hair during the rinse. It wouldn't be in contact long enough to cause a color change.

  • FUCK ALL THA HATERS BELOWW... i thought it was a pretty tight technique, i'm def gonna try this;) thanx for tha tips :)!

  • that a massive piece of tinfoil there..my granny could use that to put overthe sunday roast dinner!!lol i use foil too but i cut it with a scissors(all strips same lenght)or they just crumble up and fall out:(

  • sorry but bad technique

  • Probably, but it works for me.

  • that is a big ass slice and a big ass foil you can get it closer to your head if you do back to back thin slices and to fold the foil you should fold the bottom part to the top to cover the hair and once more to secure then fold the ends in and if you use bleach then you should watch the color to avoid over processing just lift it to the desired level and watch out for hot roots if you have artificial color in your hair

  • How about making the tips of your hair any color but i'd like white :D how would i go about doing that o.o

  • I'd probably try something messy and post a video on Youtube and get yelled at by professional hairstylists lol, but I really have no clue! Good luck, that sounds really cute.

  • Don't tell people what to do, idiot. If they do it right their hair will stay healthy and just fine but whatever color they want

  • Totally agree!!

  • Hey, I was just wondering did you need to bleach your hair when you applied the dye? My hair is really really dark black and I cannot afford to go the salon.

Anyways, did you need to bleach it or did you just leave it on and it turned out caramel or no ? Oh yeah, and did it come with a highlighting cap :) thanks . please help me much appreciated.

  • Hey, sorry this is sooo late. It didn't come with a cap, but L'Oreal's Feria highlight kits do.

I didn't bleach my hair, and typically highlight creams are stronger than all-over dyes since they're designed to lighten hair.

I'm not a professional, so unfort. I can't answer your question. If you've had little experience with hair coloring, going to a salon for a first highlight would prob. be best :)

  • how long do you keep the foil on for?

  • As long as I have the highlighting cream on for, which was about 35 min. I took them off in the shower when I washed the stuff out.

  • I'm not aware of any special tools for highlighting en entire layer of hair all around, but you can get the same effect by using foils all around the hair. It'd just take some work to get an even layer.
