Even today this looks extremely dynamic and detailed, I wish the developers would put this much effort into making games that actually play like this :( I mean just look at the use of physics...

They should have kept this vista. The other E3 Binks may have conflicted with plot points, became redundant or contained bad code, but this was good.
The introduction to the Striders was a joke in the finished game. Instead of slowing building up suspense by having them appear one by one pwning rebels, there's a group of them taking away any inidividuality. In the end you snuck up behind them, was already given a RPG and boxes of unlimited ammo and an army of rebels to defeat them!

Its the opposite. Counter-strike started out as a mod for Half-life. The Source version is pretty much its own game and not a mod.

CS started as a HL1 mod, then they branched into 2 separate games. They share the same engine... that's why they look similar.

lololololol. Wrong way buddy. Counter Strike 1.6 was a mod off of Half Life one. Then, Half Life 2 was released, and Valve decided to buy Counter Strike, and let them use the source engine, thus birthing Counter Strike: Source
