@Meowrofl you also knock people out who just fish without pulling turtles ??? well, why ??? are you a turtle-lover or what ? turtle are only fucking reptiles, so stop bitching about. they are a PLAGUE at some places. hiddeous disgusting critters, hiding in their fucking shells, i absolutely hate them. most often turtle-lovers are just like turtles haha so fuck you
@MBsaturnus Im not a turtle lover. I just love animals, & hearing that you would KILL something just because you DON'T like it is horrifying. If you disliked someone as much as you hate turtle, would you kill them too? Animals have the right to live just like us. & Yes, I know I could be contradicting myself saying this because I am no vegetarian, but as a human I am not perfect. I understand you have your reasons for hating turtles for whatever reason.
@MBsaturnus It is our fault that many places have over populated species that you speak of, thats what happens to introduced species. Without a main predator there is nothing to keep the population at a minimal point. Honestly, I think its genius how the turtle evolved to grow a shell. Just look at us, loose limbs and vulnerable. If you look at some humans, we are just as ugly. You are only human. I don't see your point.
@MBsaturnus Well they're doing it for different reasons. Reason one. They're fucking hungry. They have to eat to survive :P Reason 2. If a snapping turtle bit a chimp, I'm pretty sure it would bite it back. Unless your eating them or being bite every time you go out fishing I don't see why you should be killing them xD
@Meowrofl of course i eat them. they are delicius. they piss me the HELL off ALWAYS stealing bait, pulling with immense force, and when i catch something they OFTEN do bite in whatever i catch and pull. they are so ANNOYING like shit and disgusting overall.
@The8Modris A plague to what? To sick or dying fish? They kill of the weak and sickly and thus maintain the balance in the water. And they keep the water clean by eating carrion. They are beautiful and valuable creatures and it's disgusting to kill one off without cause.
@veelalynne people always find them so nice and blabla but theyre just shitty reptiles, not more intelligent than any other fish out there. theyre as "beautiful and valuable" than any other fucking fish, and the other fish are killed to so what ? plus they taste EXCELLENT...snapping turtle stew yummy !!!
That was pretty awesome of you to let the turtle keep the pike. I'm sure it provided a nice, big meal for the turtle. Snapping turtles are neat critters.
@danlilley2000 actually no, because it wasn't intentional. We were fishing and were reeling in the fish and the turtle snuck up on it and got it...its just nature
@NigBalla23 "Snuck up"..? You leave it dangling for minimum 10 secs(as seen on the clip), have time to zoom in etc. before the turtle snaps at it. If its dead - fine. If not - sucky move from a fisherman. Like to think that mos of us wouldn't do this to a fish...
@cyphercomplete actually I was not dangling it for that long, the reason the camera was on in the first place was to get a video of catching a pike, we did not see the turtle coming after the pike as it was a very muddy lake.
@NigBalla23 The reason I ask is because I see the turtle, 3 secs in the clip, and then the pike is still there, hanging... Did you guys keep the pike or did Mr Snapper get to keep it?
@cyphercomplete YOU, watching the video, saw the turtle at :03. I've watched 5-6 times and can hardly see it past the reflection and murky water until :06. Seems tough to see it from the boat, while paying attention to the fish. You're watching him "leave it dangling" (NOT what she said.. Har har har) while the turtle is already on the fish. Also the pike shows no sign of struggle, which further leads me to believe the turtle had already hit the fish before filming started. Pike would struggle.
@AntiNubDevice When you see the turtle coming, they simply keep the pike in the water... Now, if the pike would have been pre-killed, I wouldnt have cared that much(except leaving the hook in = risking the turtles health...), but doing this to a live pike is crappy, especially if one call themselves "anglers".
@williscl1 This was at a lake that we portaged to from McGregor Bay, Ontario. The lake is so small and far back in the woods that it is unnamed on the map
a paddle to the head of the turtle works good in that situation

Good call.
That pike was already badly damaged and wouldn't have made it if you released him.
Better to just let that big Snapper just have a huge meal of him instead.
