  • COME ON DERBY

  • Clough represented what english football was in theold good days!!

  • 1.22 Mr Bean

  • Football is the most beautiful sport ever played. It is most tactical and more supported than any other sport in the world. Rugby is just a bunch of huge neanderthals running and throwing each other away... Brian Clough > Football > Rugby > American football

  • cool movie..check this at webmovietube

  • my freinds dad got headbutted by brian clough once, he thought that my freinds dad was shooting the players with his air rifle but he was just shooting the pigeons lol he was more worried about losing his air rifle when he was running away from him

  • Brian Clough best managar

  • @bigmangiff ...Let me alter it a bit...Football = LIFE !!!

RIP Brian Clough " The best manager England never had" !!!

  • The supporters of Nottingham Forest will never forget this man. Ever.

  • SHUTUPMAN! "rudbys better" blah blah blah. Football is the best sport in the world esspicially in those days because thats when it was brutal and brian clough was the best man and manager there was and noone will ever beat his standards of what he done and achieved. RIP Brian, your a legend.

  • @intheTea04 I wonder how wenger sparks a player up apparently he can do that

  • @left4deadzombiessss - I meant "sparking-up" as in lighting a cigarette.

  • He could of done great at Leeds. Shame he had to go and slag all the players off on his first day. Big mistake!

    MOT

  • @DriffieldWhiteMOT the fault was that all the players in leeds were old and would not listen too clough that was the problem

  • "Stop being the Wandering Jew". best line in the film.

  • i remember when cloughie and i had a long chat when he was manager at brighton, it was after the game, and went like this "young man, which way to the train station"? "down there, turn left" quality, i was still shaking when i got home an hour later , lol.

  • this is ture and we are one step closer after our win today.

  • thats right lad

  • under neon loneliness motor cycle emptiness

  • be big be strong

  • Afl is way tougher than nfl way soccer is entertaining

  • this film is truly amazing!

  • If you don't like it, don't watch it and how can you compare football(soccer) to american football?

  • nothing is more boring than watching an american football play thn watching thm sit around for 5 minutes before the nxt 1, its slow and its fuckin boring ive seen american football games end 3-0 now thts fuckin shit.

rugby is much more brutal than nfl u silly yank cunt

  • @ljgately7 Better than watching 10 minutes of magic spray for a poof tripping over his shoelaces and trying to draw a foul.

Gotta be a man to play American football...fairies like Cristiano and the like prove otherwise in footy every time they step on the pitch, and it's a damn shame.

  • @Flamesfan7

Yeah I've seen some of this 'American football', though whether it is a valid sport is debatable. Some of them tackles look pretty harsh, I imagine if the players weren't kitted out like bomb defusers and weren't and wearing a helmet you could safely fight a bear with, some of them would actually hurt.

Football is not trying to be an overly macho sport, though there is plenty of brutality, 1-to-1 strength battles etc. 'American football' is just shit rugby with bubblewrap.

  • @KingOfTheShrews

    Don't knock American Football.

There's a reason why "The Hurt Locker" won Best Costume Design last awards season.

  • @Flamesfan7 Only good thing about that disgusting thing you call football and us intelligent people call rugby for cowards is the cheerleaders. There is no passion in that sport, just advertisements, you can't enjoy the game, not genuinely, thats why they put half naked girls on the side lines to keep you watching. REAL football is the greatest sport on the planet, not to mention the most popular, it takes real skill to be a footballer. Cristiano Ronaldo is a bellend though i'll give you that.

  • @ljgately7 American football is the best sport in the world. It is a sport for all atheletes: brutes, sprinters, and everyone in between. It is a sport for people who can through the ball, kick the ball, and for people who have excellent manuveurabiltiy. It is the most complex game in the world, yet can be enjoyed by people at many levels: people who only want to see big hits, people who like the big pass, and people who like to watch the play develop.

  • @davidjamessheets well you could say the same about rugby couldn't u? im not a massive rugby fan but at least its free flowing, the 1 thing that annoys me the most about nfl is its too start stop theres no free flow about it ok i see some boring football games but its mostly free flowing. also why i love football and my football team is becuase it a club, its central to our community it represents us, when i hear the words sports francise it sends a shudder down my spine

  • soccer is gay?!? american football is a bunch of men grabbing each other! its the gayest sport of them all!!

  • jayjayhawker,

okay you dumb american cunt..... everyone plays football (soccer) across the world... asia, south america, europe, middle east... how many countrys play NFL??? Oh just one?..... nuff said now do us all a favour and fuck off, this is one of the reasons i dispise america and the ignorance

  • By god did leeds miss a tisk. Revie toldthem they owned the world, clough would have made it theirs.

    Greatest manager ever

  • Brilliant film

  • The problem with football now is it's so expensive and has lost roots in the local community to some extent. I remember following my team in the late 1960s and early 70s and travelling to away games also including seeing Derby County, but my nephew could not even afford to attend all of the home games with his son.

  • lot of footballers in the 70s went two ways because they had time to kil. Drink loads of booze, say to forget about there responsibilites on the field. Or gamble in casino. However, the clever ones learnt a new trade.

  • Read the book, hows the film

  • Why will I not be able to see The Damned United at cinemas in Scotland and will I be able to get the dvd when it is out in Scotland?????????????

  • Zidane smoked right through his career

  • zidane was shit though.....

  • yeah good thing he was a fucking god on the pitch though... you dumb fuck

  • @dez10ify

    was joking brother

  • ok my bad

  • watched this at the cinema time flew

  • Billy Brenmer -The worlds greatest midfeilder of his generation was a heavy smoker - it no doubt contributed to his early death RIP

  • Blimey-are you joking.I played in a team in the late 70's when ALL the team smoked !!! And when one of Englands greatest players Bobby Charlton retired they presented him with a cigarette case on the pitch.Even in the early eighties, several players in major teams smoked-several still do on the quiet. The film itself I thought depicted the seveties brilliantly-superbly acted and well made.

  • Comment removed

  • You would be very surprised what players did,up to the 1980's it happened.I new a player that had a few pints on a Friday night, played Saturday and scored a few goals

  • Berbatov's smokes all the time.

  • I really thought Premiership players got into trouble for smoking. I wonder if they smoke the green as well.

  • yeah but to be fair, his is not exactly a lung bursting effort.

  • Ahh the good old days when football was a working class game. Commercialism, multiculturalism and political correctness now rule. What a sick joke football has become.

  • the working class ideal is what represents multiculturalism and political correctness, and in moderation neither is a bad thing.

  • Multiculturalism has nothing to do with working class values whatsoever. The left always used to put the interests of indigenous british workers first.

Patriotism, community, national heritage, work ethic, self-reliance, living within your means, family values, looking after your own... were all considered working class values up until fairly recently.

The modern day liberal 'left' are the scum of the earth and more of an enemy to the honest working british man than the tories.

  • I have to say, at the very least you've articulated an argument and explained your comments, something people rarely do around here. Listen, I don't want to get into an argument on the internet, but I can't see how you can call the modern liberal left the "scum of the earth". Misguided perhaps, if that's your opinion, but their heart is in the right place, and that's something that can never be said of the tories.

  • Brian Clough considered himself a socialist and was encouraged to stand for parliament by the (old) labour party.

Today he would not be accepted by the 'new' left. He'd be caricatured as Alf Garnet and labelled a fascist. Something has gone seriously wrong.

No sensible, healthy person would celebrate their own people's demographic decline and displacement in their homeland, but that is exactly what our current political and corporate elites expect us to do.

    The world has gone mad.

  • On the issue of Clough, I consider his behaviour during and comments made after the Hillsborough disaster to be an absolute disgrace, and I could label him far worse things than "Alf Garnet", a great manager though he undoubtedly was.

On ths issue of New Labour vs Old Labour, I'm afraid we're just going to have to agree to disagree. I do think you're oversimplifying your summary of their faults though big time.

  • What is that tune he's whistling?

  • dream the impossible dream is the tune

  • at last an intelligent comment Laurel and Hardy theme tune as far as i know

  • Brian Clough

    What a Legend

  • do they still sell those jerseys? i want one! lol

  • Cracking stuff.

  • derby are ace

  • i agree

  • Just the greatest manager full stop.

  • Wasn't He the greatest with mind games?

  • thats cos we was a fuckin nutcase
