  • Omg that is scary!

  • That is so horrible, makes me rethink my treatments.

  • Idk what's wrong with this man letting them burn his whole neck like that! And whats wrong with the person who did it! He probably could see the burns and he just kept burning the poor man!

  • GEEZE. omg. I feel so badly about this. Did anyone want to cry after seeing this. HORRIBLE.

  • @Misana i did. if i were him, id sue

  • Wow.....I would soo sue.

  • I dont see how skin tone has anything to do with it. Its just pigmented skin... So you are pretty much saying it would be bad for people with freckles

  • @cutestcupcake1202 well the laser detects the black of the hair so when you a darker person it burns everything...instead of just the black hair because it cant tell the difference between hair and skin all it sees is black and it tells the computer to turn the laser on

  • @TEDEBAGOS The laser isn't really sensing anything. The laser is fired and the darkness absorbs the heat from the light effectively frying the root which also destroys small blood vessels feeding the hair follicle. If you are fair skinned the heat of the laser only absorbed by the hair and isn't by the skin. Melanin is formed in the skin to absorb/block harmful UVA/UVB rays. Lasers are a concentrated form of light that the heat they produce in the melanin burns the skin and destroys the melanin.

  • thankyou

  • OMG that is scary. I guess iam going to keep my hair.

That pic really changed my mind on hair removal

  • this sucks

  • Nair stinks, but its better than shaving and nowhere near as terrifying as laser removal. Those images give me goosebumps! Very scary.

  • Oh, and to the person who said just shave, many deep complexions are plagued w/ razor bumps and subsequent scarring from it... Shaving is very hard on the skin because it strips away so many layers. The solution for everyone isn't shaving, it's revolutionary technology that includes all skin tones. I'm plagued less by razor bumps when I epilate, but the pain is a nightmare. Naturally tanned skin is a blessing, but it's also predisposed to far darker pigmented scars. Excess unwanted hair, razor

  • Just shave people!! damn

  • I am african-american and I've been having the hair on the front of my neck removed by Ideal Image and so far my results have been favorable. I have 6 more treatments to go and I like what I see so far. My skin tone has balanced out, the dark spots have vanished and my skin has softened. Do extensive research and try to find people who have had this kind of treatment done.

  • i'd sue his ass

  • :o

  • OMG, that poor guy. :(

  • I Guess I am going to continue wit my waxing .. Thnx for the video

  • @Rooprani12 Good!

It shows that these machins are very powerfull. And even if on white it does not induce burns, it shows the amount of energy that is going into one skin. I do not trust this industry and I do not beleive the safety records they provide. Who know what will be said about those machins in 20 years time...

  • I'm caucasian, and had laser on my face neck chest and abs. I have dirty blonde hair and moderately fair skin. The laser removed my body hair permanently in 5 sessions. but in two years I had enough facial regrowth to return for another 5 treatments. Both times I was slightly burned on my lower neck area in final session, but nothing like this. It appeared as more of a bruising than burns. Luckily I suffered no permanent affects. I'm now having my facial hair removed by E3000 and it's permanent.

  • OMG :(

  • poor guy! payers go out to him!!!

  • God damn , i will pray for him

  • I would have sued them people smh

  • thanks 4 sharing do u think this method has been revised since 08,unfortunately when things are new theres trial & error thats y I always wait till a product is out 4 a few yrs,We are guinea pigs to industries

  • Wow thanks for this video. I have always had a very thick dark beard and have to shave every day in order to not have a scruffy look. I was thinking of getting laser surgery but after watching this video (even though I have fairly light skin with dark hair) I have decided to stick with Gillette Mach 3's.

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks alot for uploading :)

  • my friend did a laser treatment for her few face spots and the stupid doctor did not tell her to use sunscreens and it was in the middle of summer, she has got huge dark spots on her face and they are permanant :(

  • i want to do it... but im so afraid..

  • This is an instance where GREED came into play. People have NO care when money is involved.

  • OMG i pray to god this never happens to anybody again

  • I'm fair skinned, with brown hair, not black, but I can get pretty tan. And I wanna have my facial hair because I hate it, it's a pain in the ass, and tears up my skin shaving. Do you think I'm a good candidate?

  • you guys have to be very careful about where you choose to do laser hair removal. i went to these asian women who were soooo nice and i thought they knew what they were doing. its been over 5 months now and ive got burn scars on my legs and arms :( stupid bitches

  • Well, they're shocking images, but ALL laser equipment comes with a warning that they are not suitable for dark skin. I'm sorry, but if you're clearly warned not to use it, and you go ahead anyway, there is no liability on the part of the company.

  • Everything that humans do has its degree of risk -- everything. What needs to happen is patients or consumers need to get inform and providers need to monitor and assess the patients reactions.

  • oh my god.... that is so fucked up... stick to waxing or shaving wow... fuck this... i thuaght laser hair removal was to expensive and stupid but an effective way to never have to shave again but after watching this fuck that shit.... nobody ever warns anyone about this kind of shit cuz i didnt even know this cud happen wao... every website i ever saw praises it as the "never have to shave" miracle proceedure... men and women beware.. all they want is ur money

  • OMG!

  • well, on the bright side, he wont be getting any hair growing there anymore...

    Poor chap.

  • message brought to you buy menen razors

  • omg ....

  • someones got a major lawsuit coming...

  • daaaaaaaaauuuyyym that laser thought the skin was hair too ouch!

  • That's frightening guys, please think twice before you go to your docter man.

  • @vfra230185 i did laser on my face just like him all that area and also on the cheeks and nothing happened im not that black of course its extremely paifunll at the beguining now is less painfull they hav ea new machine so you dont feel the bur but this thing saved my life becasue i had so much unwanted hair and my skin was u cannot imagine all that hair made my face full of marcks and stuff laser helped me alot

  • Wow...I have very dark skin like the guy in the picture...I have been getting laser hair removal for over a year and I have not been burned...there are certain lasers and settings that can be used on black skin so it is not impossible. My treatments actually went better than typical. Then again the places I go to are frequented by dark skinned clients so I felt comfortable.

  • sue tho bitches bro!

  • Omigosh. I hope someone got fired.

  • i would sewwwwwwwww the crap out of them.

  • nonsense i am dark fem. i had a laser done on my face for smoothening, and nothing happened. the reason his skin looks like this because he probably scrached it ! oh how it scratches alot its insane ... so ya thats what he did

  • @mindy458 you sound very uneducated and have no idea what this is all about. There is a difference between the laser for hair removal and those for other treatments. this is a very serious issue cuz I have been a victim of this myself. Next time dont comment on stuff you dont have any factual information about. A lot of people actually read these comments.

  • Did they use YAG laser on him?

  • Handy piece of information to have. Thanks.

  • THANK YOU for posting!

  • ...wtf if it looks like that after you start y would u keep going is the hair removal guy thinking it might look better on another side of his neck

  • @animefangz The scarring on the face doesn't happen until later. When the person was doing it, it would have looked perfectly normal and the client would have felt a slight burn.

He would have completed the whole neck and told him to go home.

A couple of days later, you start seeing the scars develop and it goes downhill messed up pretty quick ay..

  • That laser was set so high that it burned the black off of him! Now I'm not going to get this!

  • skip to 1:27 to see THE SCAR!

  • @TheDrBadAss thanks lol

  • omg that sucks.....

  • ew man jus ew.....i feel sorry for him....the guy who did the laser treatment needs to be put out of business........& smacked.

  • I WOULD SUE THE HELLLL OUT OF THEM ! >={ I MAD JUST FOR HIM THATS RIDICULOUS AND DISGUSTING

  • I'm a black woman having laser hair removal done now and I've been very happy with the results. You must, however, use the GenteYag Candela laser and you MUST MUST MUST have someone who knows what they're doing. If you live the D. C. area and want more info, please send me a message; I'll refer you to my laser specialist.

  • I am fair creamy with dark hair and it works best for my type not for blonde or black people I had a gf burn her skin I felt bad :( I hope it heals okay it def looked painful

  • How dark is too dark? I'm white but I have a little bit of a tan. (I'm half hispanic)

  • omfg stop the pics thats scary. It scres me a bit looking at it:PPPPPPPP:(((((

  • eww gross some one help jesus plz help that man i feel so bad for him aww it looks so damn painful!

  • Oh poor guy! He must of done it because he got bad razor bumps.

  • oh lord oh lord oh lord

  • omg i feel so bad for him

  • Ok this made me change my mind about laser hair removal. I'd rather Wax!

  • Is anybody scratching themselves right now cause that looks itchy. Man, I'm totally reconsidering laser hair removal treatment.

  • Wow. had no idea that this was even an issue. I am personally of mixed race, although pretty fair-skinned. I was considering laser hair removal but now I may reconsider.

  • laser hair removal is stupid. Unnatural and just extreme

  • OMG what about men with fair colour?

  • oh shit i wont be doing that ever in my life cuz if i have to put my skin in someone else's hands and they fuck me up id be pretty ticked off

  • @berrian15 If you have dark skin, use Yag laser, and you won't even get burned. It doesn't respond to color. Alexandrite responds to color (black or dark brown). That is why people with darker skin cannot use it.

  • he should sue them.

  • thanks for sharing OMG thats so scary i wont try those laser thing or anything els like that thank you so much for informing.

  • Thank you for sharing! 2 Thumbs up!

  • Wow its important to use the right laser, I'm currently receiving it from Ideal Image and my skin looks great, I have a medium skin tone and I'm African American, It has done wonders for me, it does hurt like hell and I'm using ideal image.

  • Damn i'm so glad that i seen this because i was getting ready to do this

  • @nycprdny I have been researching & now they have new Laser Treatments for Dark skin.

  • thank you so much for the heads up.

  • wow thats so unfortanite for that poor guy, pthey should have told him but pple will do anything 4 money thanks for warning us

  • Lol, i accidentally spit out my food when the pics came up. now theres spaghetti on my screen. i seriously need to be careful on what i click on...yuck..

...BTW, that guy should sue them for every dime they have. 1.) for his injuries and 2.) FOR GROSSING ME OUT!!

  • I feel horrible for him...i dont even know what to say.

  • @ReaperToySupra I feel so sorry for him too. I seriously hope he get compensation for the damage they caused to him.

  • omg im lucky i saw this video i was just looking this up

  • what will money mean when you are scarred like this for life??? so scary. people do research before you do something so serious.

  • @giro07 WTF?! the doctor should have known before even thinking of doing this so I hope that guy sued the hell out of them!

  • I guess I'll be getting electrolysis...

  • Damn I hope that Guy gets compensated for the compaies neglegence

  • Comment removed

  • im yellow skin tone aswell and sick of waxing but seeing this has freaked me out, i also wanted a face peel but my therapist wouldn't do it so you really have to think carefully before trying it out. i'll be sticking to waxing. poor guy!

  • How dark do you have to be ? Because I am yellow

  • Comment removed

  • This is soooooooo scary. I will share this with all my friends and relatives, who have melanin in their skin.

    Thanks, for posting this, deepstealth!

  • wow thanks for this vid.

I was burnt once too. Not as severe as this, thank god. But yeah this was by a beautician i had been to for a great number of years. Thankfully it was not permanent scarring but I did suffer sever pain.

  • im black and i go to elaine randi in nyc i had 8 treatment already at cost 150.00 per session i must say the first time i went the girl had the laser up too high and i was burned not severly but burned enough where it was dark so i went back the second time and the oowner had gave me free microdermabr

  • That's A Damn Shame... These Clinics Need To Be 100% Honest About What Laser Hair Removal Can Do And Can't Do. This Makes Me Extremely Angry, I Had Laser Hair Removal Done And I'm Still Growing Hair Which Pisses Me Off Because They Literally Lied To My face By Telling Me It Would Be Gone For Good. The Things Human's Will Say And Do To get A Dollar Is A Damn Shame.

  • I guess he never had the curious question about how the laser can tell hair from skin, which was my first thought when I heard of laser hair removal being a black woman. I bet he paid a lot just to end up scared for life; I don't think he could've even sued as scaring is a true possibility of the procedure. I'm sure no one expected this much scaring but if the doctor has a good lawyer then as long as he/she mentioned scaring being possible then he/she probably won't have to pay a dime. Sad :(

  • DAMMMMNNNNN @1:29 Did it not hurt during the treatments? That would have been a flag right there. How did it get that bad?

  • OMG like laser SKIN removal, yeah lets zap away all our skin for permenent results!!!

  • thats gross

  • sugar that is EXTREMELY scary. i have seen features in magazines recommending laser hsir removal 4 black ppl and im disgusted!

  • that man is going to have to get a skin graft.... that would be his ONLY option.... he definitely should not have even THOUGHT about considering Laser hair removal cause of how dark he is......

  • he def sued for a few million and got it. but that does suck

  • Mainly this happens to people that seek out cheap lazer treatment. Remember to always check for a doctors liscence and how long they have been in buissnes.

  • WTF Man , i am so sorry for the guy

  • u have a heart

  • some idiot used an IPL on a fitz 6. good job, i hope he signed a consent form.

  • what do u mean by " fitz 6 "

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa yuk.... i wouuld torture someone if they did that tp me

  • I feel so bad :(

  • very decent of her to share that with people.Good woman.

  • The laser might provide instantly visible results but beware, but from numerous examples of anecdotal evidence, it seems a total scam which 1) can ultimately leave you hairier (thickens soft vellus hairs), and 2) the long term effects are unknown.

The ONLY thing that will work without any long term harmful effects (if done properly) and with permanence is electrolysis (ideally, by the blend method). It's tedious, hurts a bit, but is ultimately cheaper and more effective than anything else.

  • exactly...im african american but have light skin and i got left hairier and i got burned and have the scars to prove it. It really pisses me off that i went to a dermatologist office and was told i was a good candidate. I asked for at least a partial refund and they did not give it to me. 5 months later the scars are still bright as day

  • That is so scary and im glad that I saw all of this I was considering having it done to my face (beard area) and I have light skin, way lighter than the guy in the clip, but hearing you say you still got burned and had more hair afterwards scares the shit out of me! Damn what should I do becasue I hate this facial hair? So you wouldnt recomend this treatment for African Americans or people of color ?

  • SUE THEM! Thats terrible! They hould have refunded every dime!

  • i'm light skinned black male also. i'm three weeks out from my first treatment using Coolglide. slight patchiness that i think will go away. what laser was used on you? i had bad pfb and now it's overall better, but now debating on taking my winnings and being happy with what i gained.

  • Forget the refund you should sue them for everything they have.

  • You are 100% right that you have to choose the right person for the treatment. But it is also essential, that the right technologie is in use and so you realy should differentiate what kind of laser that was! There are so many different Laser technologies and types out there, good for specific treatmants and giving great results. (also on darker skin types) For sure here was something used, that was NOT the right tool (And also it looks like that it was a IntensePulsedLight IPL and not a LASER)

  • i want to cry for that guy, God bless him. i am considering mt bikini line and legs but i just don't know anymore.

  • holi fuk.

the guy can sue the laser technician.

that sucks..he's gonna have that horrible discoloration on his skin...

    again THAT SUCKS...

  • omg....thank you. I don't have dark skin but stil..this is very informative!

  • i also have white scars from co2 laser and im filipina.so dont try anything for ur skin just to look good.especialy all kind of laser.

  • thankyou for keeping it real

  • omg dude sue

  • Wonder if that guy sued o.o;

  • I would sue.

  • this is why god says not to shave the hairs off our faces i know most people dont wanna belive in the bible but some rule in there are there for a reason.

    God bless the dude.

  • that was old testament, when Jesus came alot of things changed (: for example eating certain meats

    hollyy

  • i heard about that but i didnt know if that was true but they say not to cut any part of you hair

  • Yea.. Its in Islam too.. males are encouraged to leave their beards (but to trim it and clean it)

But both men and women are required to pluck or shave their armpits (preferably plucking for armpits) and their pubes.. they shouldn't be left for more than 40 days max

  • It has nothing to do with that. Laser hair removal was not invented when the Bible was written. Plus, there is not one man who would let their beard grow forever. Think before you speak.

  • Orthodox jews are not to 'poll' ('cut') any part of their facial hair.

  • u do good work

  • Oh God!!! I think that the worst thing is that the skin may have lost permanently its pigmentation on the scar tissue....

  • that poor guy, good luck to him. :x

  • Oh God it looks so painfull. Why a man thought to take off the hair of the beard? I want more

  • Many people with darker skin tones or curly hair have serious side effects from shaving (sever ingrown hairs), so some seek permanent removal to avoid having to shave, especially on the neck. In this case, the technician did not know how to treat dark skin, so always be careful!

  • Where did this client receive his treatment?

  • Thank you for the educational and informative post! Can you suggest something else for dark-skinned folks that are near desperate to remove facial/neck hair? Waxing perhaps? Oh, that's right; you did mention a website! Let me go check it out! ^_^

  • omfg!

  • OMG!!!!!!! the pics are soo sad and disgusting I hope he sues their ass because the practioner didnt tell him he's not a good canidate for laser hair removal

  • Dear Andrea, I am an electrologist who specializes in dark skin and problem hair removal cases. I have been very successful at it for the last 17 years in NYC. This problem is so hush hush, so many are still become new victims to laser hair removal at high beams. Thanks for sharing this info to help future laser users be more careful.

  • Sue 'em!

  • Hell yeah, Sue' Em!

Also, see if you can push for the

    DEATH-PENALTY as well!

  • i have been undergoing laser hair removal treaments for a while now with great results (no hyperpigmentation) and i have skin nearly as dark as the gentleman in the video. with the technological advances in laser hair removal over the past few years it has become possible for people with darker skin to undergo treatment safely. however, treatment may take longer as the laser must be used on a LOWER setting and tolerance must be increased gradually. as you say be careful and do your research!

  • yea that is really bad i went thru lazer. i am light skin tone and dark hair but i was still burned not that badly at all but a lil area that she went over a few times and the skin just pealed right off and i now have a scar there but yea be very careful ladies and gents

  • Wow, that sucks! I hope they get the best help out there.
