  • The best ever since.

  • 17 pessoas não tem cultura

  • Always reminds me of coming into the Bar the morning after before the staff arrive, place stills smells of smoke, beer and cigars, turn the lights on low and coltrane on in the background, then pour the first drink of the day and smile as you try to remember all the things you said the night before..........

  • @Broomehall Picturesque. Very nice :D

  • Denzel Washington needs to play John Coltrane in a movie.

  • @ElementOfficialTV

Don Cheadle as Miles Davis is better

  • Foetus you mean

  • pretty

  • muy bueno este grande

  • it should be a sin for how delicious this music sounds. especially if you pair it with a glass of moscato or a cup of coffee. pure bliss

  • seriously, who the fuck cares if your thirteen or a featus or whatever. its great you love this music, we all do. but if you think that listening to it makes you cool or you are just listening to boost your ego or something of that nature just stop, stop and just enjoy ze music.

  • Matter as a slave to tone,...

  • "first you puff out your chest...now say tax exemption!" "tax exemption!" "okay...now you must aquire a taste for...jazz!"

  • @BladedShotgun freeform jazz

  • The way Lee handles the sixteenth @ 4:00 is just mind blowing! Trane and Curtis seem to forget it's time to play fast, and Kenny seems like he lacks inspiration... One of Lee Morgan's best solos imo!

  • Oh..la encontre! xD

  • Trane, difinitivamente, imposible escuchar luego alguna otra cosa .

  • (y'

  • im never listening to another song...

  • Tear it up, John.

  • coming from a person (me) who loves kraftwerk, I´m thrilled to get into jazz. But then again, quality is quality no matter genre! :)

  • I listen to allot of music but out of all the genres, their is something about jazz like this that is extra special.

  • one of my fav. Coltrane songs!!!

  • bastardi sapete come prendermi!!!

  • Most people never really connect with jazz music. I have no idea why I like it so much. Those who are outside our church need help, not scorn.

  • @SparePartsII becuase they are afraid of jazz. Jazz is one of those genres that makes you think and empathically use your mind to interpret music instead of just listening to the music.

  • what song is that of ad

  • Coltrane rocks...

  • Hey , I have a question which may sound really stupid to some of you ...

I love blues and soul ( Hooker and Aretha Franklin ... etc ) but for Jazz - it just seems a little chaotic or how to put it ... a bit too complicated ... Give me a tip - what should i listen or do to make this music sound more appealing .

    TKS :)

  • @tatedido me too

  • @tatedido Hey man, try listening to later stuff. Chet baker, miles davis etc :)

  • @tatedido coltrane stardust if you like that I'll give you others

  • Try Mario Biondi - This is what you are , i think you'll like it :))

  • @tatedido its hard to listen to sometimes because it is really complicated and filled, to listen to jazz you cant pick apart every note you have to glide on top of the song, and just try and follow it not lead it

  • @tatedido how old are you?

  • man.....all the tunes I check out on the 'tube are always full of fighting and negativity. Listen to the song, enjoy it, if you don't like it, don't listen to it. Take the bitching to the forums.

  • 15 dislikes? If you don't like this, why are you even here, dudes?!!!

  • I just came out of my mothers womb but I loved jazz before that, not like most fetuses my age! my oh my this is music not like that silly pop music sperms now a days listen to :s

  • @simpleman6942 I just came out my fathes sack, but I enjoyed all genres of music before that. Not like most of the seed around me! My oh my how I cant get enough of music. Waiting everyday, hoping a new kind of music will reach my ears!

  • @simpleman6942 Stop painting us all with the same tar brush! I'm a jazz-loving fetus too... There seems to be a lot of jazz-loving fetuses about these days.

  • Amazing <3 Jazz relaxes me so much. This is music.

  • I'm 612 years old and may I say that I love jazz? Does it not matter what your carbon date is to find solace in music? Stop your gloating and enjoy this high-rate music!

  • im a featus and i love jazz, i hate what most people my age listen to

i.e. the ultrasound scans XP I love jazz :)

  • @myboytheharp im a nigger and i play this music in the tube

  • no me gusta cuando el jazz se va demaciado a la mierda

  • @franciscopiovacari

jajaajajaj, lo mismo digo!!! God bless jazz music!

  • @franciscopiovacari Callete la boca, no sabes nada de la musica.

  • Coltrane played at the right time, the right place and right era.Today the messed "youth" listen to the packaged vulgar 4 letter trash rap shit. They have no patience to listen to such a genius. It might relax them and make them normal.

  • Jazz is the musical conversation in any language between musicians and fans! its the way instruments speaks by his interpreter! Its food for any soul with hunger looking for good music! From Puerto Rico a guitar player and lyric composer! & a truly lover of Jazz! Ppl should enjoy the live by this music on the side and everything should become great! Vive Grande y Disfruta, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Euro Jazz any kind including Acid Jazz any type of Jazz its just lovely!

  • Did a solo in Jazz band :P to this song!

  • Just started playing this in jazz band, gotta love Coltrane <3

  • i think great and genius deeds appear in the hard times of history, like it was in the 20th century, like war heroes, they would never be war heroes if the war doesn't exist, music can be like that, because we express our personality and feelings when we are in hard situation, and i think thats why the music today can't reach 10% of the music it was made in the 20 until the 90.

we live in peace and we got to be thankful for that, but the downside is that great people are hide in this big world.

  • @cod4masterrpgn He wouldn't be a nobody. He wouldn't be famous in today's world because the new generation of talentless, unoriginal "musicians" who play the same beats and tunes have the spotlight because it's easier to emulate them - they never have to practice to be good, they just have to play three power chords or the same note for the entire verse. Yet they have no concept of soloing or feel, like the Trane did...

  • @RealCreativeName

I have to agree that Coltrane would not be AS popular if he was around today instead of then.

But, he was such an incredible player that he would still be widely renown in the Jazz/Blues scene and possibly further.. But he wouldn't be a pop artist or making many sales in charts.

  • @Dyotiify The whole point of my argument is that Coltrane wouldn't be getting the recognition he deserves in today's musical culture because the music today is so easy compared to his lol...but yeah, he'd be up there in the Jazz/Blues community...I'd be shocked if he wasn't.

  • Were just a few that Coltrane has make one of the few that touch is soul. Be glad to be one of them. We are not so many that understand is music and touch is soul. The other just get bored and don't understand his feeling. But fot us it's alway's a new feeling to the same song and so more, so more.

  • @cod4masterrpgn "you don't even know how to use grammar" you dont know how to use your time wisely besides trolling on the internet and saying that great jazz performer is a nobody. if you dont like him why listen to him or even come to the video than. nobodies these days.

  • i love painting. and this shit alwasy gets me in the zone

  • My remedy.

  • This dude is the master!! I love Jazz!!!

  • @cod4masterrpgn feel sorry for you man any way got better things to do with my life you should do the same

  • I wish I was alive in this time. Screw all these technical advancements of ours, if I could've just played in a big bang, my life would need nothing else.

  • @cod4masterrpgn look im a gamer i see you like call of duty and i know you like to troll on and off the game so how about just fuck off you little cunt if you dont got any thing nice to say dont say any thing then

  • @cod4masterrpgn Says the one who calls him a nobody by today's standards.

  • @cod4masterrpgn that means he was a head of his time and you my friend just pointed that out to all us jass fan's

  • @cod4masterrpgn Well if there was no foundation, there would be no wall.

So if there was no foundation there would be no "todays standards",

  • @cod4masterrpgn i'm sorry, but that's like saying Einstein would be a nobody today because everyone knows E=mc^2

  • Starbucks music! :D I'm sorry, I just enjoy starbucks music so much! And this reminds me of it!

  • This put me in such a upbeat mood. When just 10 minutes and 44 seconds earlier, I wasn't feelin' to hot about things. Thanks Mr. Coltrane

  • makes me think of new york , hmm...nice classy music

  • Blue Trane :)

  • It's classic.

  • If they ever made a movie about him, Deznel washington could play him. . appeareance wise at least. . .and Terrence Howard sorta looks like Charles Mingus as well

  • @rfp415 I think Denzel has already made the Jazz movie of his career. Mo' Better Blues.

  • @bolder2009 oh i see. . never heard of that one tho

  • @rfp415 The character he plays is modled on Miles. Here's the movie /watch?v=IYPRf9K0dS0

  • clotrane rules

  • @Apocatequillable: try for starters Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancocks sixties stuff and maybe read the Penguin Encyclopedia of Jazz... helped me find my way, Enjoy, jazz is a treasure for the rest of your life!

  • I'm 16 years old and I'm getting into blues/jazz now. I've always liked the good ol' rock and roll. can you tell me some good jazz or blues artists? i know bb king, Sonny boy williams, coltrane and clapton(old times, now hes changed). suggestions, please?

  • @Apocatequillable come visit my channel and pop yer head into a place where dreams come true and i wonce saw a real fairy in my backyard!

  • @Apocatequillable Nat King Cole, Esperanza Spalding

  • dios no hay que drogarse para volar el trance mas sublime y natural es el jazz expresiones que salen del alma

  • 03:00

  • the intro is forever stuck to my mind(heart), thanks

  • Hard bop is a tiny bit slower than bebop and you see much more connection and organization going on within the band right? Are there any more characteristics that deliniate Hard from Be?

  • Can't stop the Coltrane baby!

  • actually no, this is just annoying

  • i can see myself liking this but the saxophone is too dominating....and only 1/3 of it makes musical sense

  • I was told to listen to the song "Blue Train by Miles Davis" by my drum teacher. Is this the right song? cuz i cant find a miles davis version anywhere

  • magnifico!!

  • Another Trane's masterpiece !

  • Im beggining with jazz and im a little lost with all this subgenres, is this hard bop or bebop? i cant find the difference.

  • @LocoAullador78 hard bop. bebop is much faster than this.

  • One of the best jazz songs ever. Lee Morgan solo is perfect.

  • Okay, the weird thing is, I like all that kind of heavy metal and sorts. But Coltrane just hits me, in a positive way.

  • @FreeRockingGohan Nothing weird about that

  • esto le hago escuchar a mis hijos quiero q de grandes sepan aprasiar la buena musica

  • @1481Neil

  • @Ad4mKaTT Maybe you could learn how to spell too..

  • @addeex1 i made one or two small spelling mistakes, commenting on my spelling is oviously you trying to ignore the comment, nuff said.

  • 10 dislikes, wondering. I keep thinking of what Frank Zappa said, "people would not know good music, even if it came up and bit them on that ass."

  • @TheCrazyMuffin First off if you're trying to make a compelling argument about cultured music avoid avoid terms like "faggot" because its just makes you look dumber then you already do. Secondly this man is a musical genius. As a saxophone player i can tell you it takes more then a couple years to get that good, but why am i even trying to convince you that you're wrong you're probably just going to go listen to more music of the modern age. have fun with emenim I'll take Coltrane any day

  • muito bom..

  • Grande Coltrane,

  • Love.

  • GSA "Project Funk Jam"/ "All Blues"

  • Sublime...

  • une turie gilette

  • Once upon a time, I worked as a volunteer DJ at a radio station. Then and now, I loved Big Band music and that's what I played. The guy that came in after me once asked, "Why do you play that old shit?" Then he gave me a John Coltrane cd. Now, I love JC, too.

  • I swear Curtis Fuller has killed a man with his bare hands... Bad ass blowin.

  • I'm fifteen years old and i am embarrassed at some of the awful music my generation has produced. Coltrane, Mingus, Dizzy, the Bird... This is the real stuff!!!

  • @1806william That's because you are still narrow minded. Time will make sure you will get a better taste in music. Don't get me wrong, I love this, but I love all music which is produced or written well, including styles like ragga jungle, dungeon dubstep, death metal, jazz fusion and whatever other style!

  • @1806william Well I'm 18 and feel the need to preface every comment with my age.

Well, at any rate you've definitely got some music there. I especially love Mingus

  • Su música vive para siempre. Simplemente es de los mejores. Saludos desde Piedras Negras, Coahuila México.

  • Continued..... Until now. I heard him mentioned in Lucinda Williams, who is also new to me and I enjoy her sound. Thanks for the thoughts.

  • For the rude people, kma. I wasn't being rude our inconsiderate, I was seeking information and explaining why I wasn't attracted to it. I did not bash or discredit it. To those with more positive input, thank you. No I never played music. I enjoy many types of music, but I like harmony and good lyrics. I also like more upbeat entertainment as compared to the slow and monotonous sound of this john coltrane. I have heard the name mentioned many times in the past but never sought out the mystery.

  • @sgtduckyboy64 One of the rare cases when a Youtube user can articulate disagreement in a civil manner.

  • @sgtduckyboy64 This does have harmony, albeit of a more complex kind. It's cool though, it took me a year to start digging his stuff.

  • Après avoir subi le pire : carla bruni massacrant nobody knows you, quel plaisir de savourer le meilleur. Inégalable john coltrane.
