  • Yes - agree totally - StreathamG. Looking back when you see this it reminds you just how British - or English (me too) the country was. I feel no where near as English now, as we were back then.

  • @Silverbirch4444

Absolutely spot on Silverbirch. How sad that those charming, innocent and family orientated days of television are gone. And also, like you say, the England that we both fondly remember.

  • JUNE (peeling carrots) "Hows the new company car dear?" TERRY (exited as a 4 year old) "Its got a bigger engine, i`ll be able to fly around like that racing driver whats his name" JUNE "who`s that dear?" TERRY "Nikki erm, Nikki Nikki Nikki um?" JUNE "Lauda?" TERRY (Yells at the top of his voice) " NIKKI "
  • Good God this is when we used to be British - or English if you happen to be me!

    Remember those old days?

  • At times it was a bit naff and the suburban middle class nature of the show infuriated the left wing alternative brigade, but at times Terry and June attracted 16 million viewers and a good episode was worth the effort.

  • I enjoy it when Terry collapses back into his lounger of middle class decadence and complacency. Can you imagine the kind of rampant sex that would happen when the cameras weren't filming Terry's or June's latent anger and bitterness toward each other?

'June' would have filed for a divorce from 'Terry' in no time at all in this day and age... it's amazing she put up with that fat slob for so long.

  • ive never laughed so much about your comment..ha ha

  • I forgot I posted that, it must have been late at night. I think Terry Scott's great, I was just being a bit mean. I love him in Carry on Up the Jungle as an uneducated cave man whose technique of seducing Jackie Piper by drawing a stick figure in the sand with huge breasts, one of his best moments.

    Cooorrr!

  • na you wernt being mean..just very funny the way you said it...wasnt he in another carry on film where he was after valerie leon..some thing about a beauty pagent? memory is going!

  • More cuntishness than you can shake a stick at.

  • now there's a turn of phrase!

  • one of the best comedies and i have series 1-7 on dvd, awaiting series 8 with eagerness

  • June Whitfield hasn't aged a day, just look at her compared to this video and when she's in Absolutely Fabulous, the same!?!? haha.

  • loved this show.

  • What a great piece of music. Lovely chords towards the end. Terrible show.

  • I think it was just meant to be a gentle and harmless series. The episode with Terry running for parliament was great.

  • i think thats actually as a councilor and is the first episode on series 5

  • Aha, yeah, that makes a lot more sense. I just remember him saying "vote for medford". Thanks for that, I might look out for the DVD.

  • @NameNotaNumber The song is caled, 'Bell hop', and is by John Shakespeare.

  • does anyone know if there are any of these shows on the net i used to love t&j

  • Do you have the rare episode where Terry unexpectedly brings his boss back for dinner?
