Crime rates in USA, particularly violent crime is much lower than the UK. The statistics are very easy to find with just a quick Google). Though the murder rates are higher per capita in the USA, violent crime is extremely higher in Britain.
I have also seen comparable city rates (I'm doing a Criminology degree) which compares the cities with most crime in US and UK and again the UK cities much higher.
UK has highest crime rates in the developed World (again, easy to find evidence on Google)

First up I'd like to say I like the USA and its people. However when it comes to our citiites on a Friday night England is a much, much scarier harder place. I have been going out in Manchetser and london pretty much every weekend since I was 16 and things are a lot worse. Everytime Im in the USA (at least twice a year) the drinking/fightting culture is non existant.
