Also, there are a lot of horror stories about government-provided health care in many parts of the world for two major reasons: too much "politicizing" over what is "healthcare" and funding issues.

There are other problems people have faced as well, such as having to wait a long time, sometimes as long as a year, or having to travel long distances for treatment.

@ManOfDeath567 that is not to say, that there are no problems with Universal Healthcare, there are some for sure, although no one I know personally has experienced the problems that opponents to Universal Healthcare like to claim happens so much that it should be a reason not to have it at all. But in all fairness, people should not  have to go bankrupt after a serious accident or injury, because they cannot afford their medical treatment.

It is far better to be well cared for in a dingy hospital, than to be denied healthcare from an aesthecially pleasing hospital simply because one cannot pay or lacks insurance. The fact that the USA is the only industrialised nation in the world that cannot seem to provide healthcare to all who need it is perplexing to me. It's like your house being on fire and the firefighters come but don't put the fire out because you can't pay/lack insurance.

A nation that lets its citizens die needlessly, or go bankrupt or into poverty simply because they cannot afford healthcare, is the one with the failing Healthcare system. Make no mistake, I love the Americans, in fact, I'm currently a tourist in the USA, and that is why it saddens me to know that a single accident, or serious illness could ruin the lives of the people I see on these streets.

Oh yes, I am aware of that. In developing this story, I took that into account, but also thought on the fact that Buzz is an older man in this series. Time can change people drastically, so perhaps as a younger man, he did not fully understand the importance of being supportive of his spouse, and regrets it deeply now as an older man, hence his sentiment towards Daniel Pleasant.

With Mary Sue Pleasant running the whole country, she would be even more powerful with Daniel supporting her, but with him bringing Kaylynn with him, one can only wonder about that. Oh no, the Pleasantview vs Strangetown series is completely separate from the Strangetown Conspiracy. In fact, you'll be seeing more Strangetown Conspiracy shortly. It's just that I write best in the dead of night, and with the nights not being dark, I don't sleep or right well. Oh but you know about that too, because you live where the nights don't get dark during the summer too eh? We'll get a full 50 minutes of full night on August 9! Yay!
