@joemulcahy Scotland has a MUCH lower population than the United States, so it would be easier there.
Also, there are a lot of horror stories about government-provided health care in many parts of the world for two major reasons: too much "politicizing" over what is "healthcare" and funding issues.
There are other problems people have faced as well, such as having to wait a long time, sometimes as long as a year, or having to travel long distances for treatment.
@ManOfDeath567 And the USA has a greater population, hence tax payers, so the argument of Scotland having a "MUCH lower population" isn't a strong one. You say there are a lot of horror stories about government-provided health care in many parts of the world, um I don't mean any disrespect when I ask if you've bothered to confirm the truth and prevalence of said stories, or are you simply regurgitating the propaganda fed to the American public by those opposed to universal healthcare?
@ManOfDeath567 that is not to say, that there are no problems with Universal Healthcare, there are some for sure, although no one I know personally has experienced the problems that opponents to Universal Healthcare like to claim happens so much that it should be a reason not to have it at all. But in all fairness, people should not have to go bankrupt after a serious accident or injury, because they cannot afford their medical treatment.
pffft statistics on Unemployment aren't that cracked up to be as any gd economist will tell you. A rate of 3.4% means a real unemployment rate of 8.5-9.5%
(to sereinama) what do you mean "racial?" do you mean blind? (metephorically, of course. Like not noticing peoples differentces in race, gender prefrance and religion etc)
@SnapshotOfASoul So does nearly every other industrialized nation outside of the USA. Odd that the nation with the most millionaires cannot afford to provide health care for all its citizens. Could too many tax breaks for the rich be part of the problem?
@joemulcahy Good point, Joe. It's like the USA is a 3rd world country healthcare-wise compared to Canada, Europe, parts of Asia and parts of South America. Good work on the videos, by the way, keep it up!
@ManOfDeath567 And in other parts. But we're still ahead. I had to get a life-altering surgery in a dingy little hospital and I was still comfortable and well-looked-after.
@SnapshotOfASoul True that! It is far better to be well cared for in a dingy hospital, than to be denied healthcare from an aesthecially pleasing hospital simply because one cannot pay or lacks insurance. The fact that the USA is the only industrialised nation in the world that cannot seem to provide healthcare to all who need it is perplexing to me. It's like your house being on fire and the firefighters come but don't put the fire out because you can't pay/lack insurance.
@SnapshotOfASoul oh yes, and I wouldn't say that Canada's Healthcare system has failed. A nation that lets its citizens die needlessly, or go bankrupt or into poverty simply because they cannot afford healthcare, is the one with the failing Healthcare system. Make no mistake, I love the Americans, in fact, I'm currently a tourist in the USA, and that is why it saddens me to know that a single accident, or serious illness could ruin the lives of the people I see on these streets.
@joemulcahy I know how you feel. I see TV shows (the majority here are US ones) about how it's even expensive to have a baby now in the USA. It's sad to think that we take these simple things for granted.
Oh yes, I am aware of that. In developing this story, I took that into account, but also thought on the fact that Buzz is an older man in this series. Time can change people drastically, so perhaps as a younger man, he did not fully understand the importance of being supportive of his spouse, and regrets it deeply now as an older man, hence his sentiment towards Daniel Pleasant.
Thanks for the comment, and yes, there is more to the series posted already. This is a Round Robin so Swords has done the next part, and Simer is working on the third installment.
cool ive not seen u in awhile how r u my friend btw ive been sending u friend invites but some reson its not working .... well i really chat to chat to u ive not talked to u in awhile ;( so hopefully this weekend or sometime in the week we will chat ;D well i hope so anyway casue i miss talking to u and swords and malla and tim and good choice of music i love it lol ;D
Oooh, this looks really good! GO MARY-SUE! I just hope that Daniel stops being a cheating nit and actually does support his wife, like General Buzz wants him to.
Heh, writing romance is an achilles heel for me too. XD
Thanks for the comment Lilith, yes, I really hope that too. With Mary Sue Pleasant running the whole country, she would be even more powerful with Daniel supporting her, but with him bringing Kaylynn with him, one can only wonder about that. I hope General Buzz catches Daniel actually. He'll fix that Daniel's wagon!
Thanks for the offer, I'm sure at some point a director will seek your advice. By the way, are you continuing Strangetown Sorrows? We can't have too many Strangetown stories, now can we? Strangetown deserves many films!
This is certainly an interesting new story. I can't wait to see how SwordsMasterGuy handles its next progression. I suspect with the way Daniel acts, Mary-Sue may lean towards General Buzz in her direst time to come...
Thanks for the feedback, and you're in luck, Swordsmasterguy has already completed the next part, it is posted above as a video response. Enjoy it! As for the moment, Simer will be doing the next part.
This is actually a round robin type story, where a number of storytellers participate in telling the story. So thus far, I've done the prologue, and Swordsmasterguy has done part one. Currently Simer22 is on part two.
Actually this is the prologue to a series, my friends and I will be working on together. So this far, I've done the prologue, and Swordsmasterguy has done the first chapter. Simer22 will do the second chapter.
But does this have anything to do with the real series? Will everything that happens here continiue in Strangetown Conspiracy? Because I found it weird that Ripp was back and Johnny was alive and stuff...
Oh no, the Pleasantview vs Strangetown series is completely separate from the Strangetown Conspiracy. In fact, you'll be seeing more Strangetown Conspiracy shortly. It's just that I write best in the dead of night, and with the nights not being dark, I don't sleep or right well. Oh but you know about that too, because you live where the nights don't get dark during the summer too eh? We'll get a full 50 minutes of full night on August 9! Yay!
Thanks Sims2Geek4ever, hooray for the night! And you're very lucky because in just a month, you'll have those lovely Aurora Borealis to watch as well. I'm rather jealous! Oh well, I guess I'll have to stay inside and work on Strangetown Conspiracy then.
Thank you very much, pleasentviewstudios. Eaxis really gave us a gift in Strangetown, which is ripe with stories, as well at in Pleasantview, their flagship town.
Thank you very much for the feedback, and yes, I am still working on Strangetown Conspiracy, in fact, parts eleven and twelve are being worked on simultaneously, and may ultimately be released together, as the events in both occur concurrently.
Thank you very much, Saske! It's great to actually write a round robin, as in each forthcoming episode, you'll enjoy the diverse directing styles of each of us.
Thanks, Charlemagne. Yes, I am certainly continuing my regular series. It's just that these past two months have been a very difficult time in my life, so directing wasn't something I felt like doing, but now all is well, and I'm actually working on it again.
Thanks for the comment, Sims2fan800. Yes, General Buzz Grunt is still coping with life without Lyla Grunt, so yes, but on the bright side, he isn't overseeing a war overseas so he's glad for more time to spend with his still grieving sons.
Thank you very much, Hattemakeren (Mr Hat Maker). Yes, I think Eaxis gave us a great gift in the Strangetown characters, and the Pleasantview characters, being EAxis's flagship crew, the two together are even better.
I was going to tag you originally, but since you're going on holiday, I tagged Swordsmasterguy. It was a hard choice really since you're both good film makers.

That is why she is like Kim Jong-il

what makes u so sure that she's north korean? she could be south korean, chinese or even japanese! stfu abt race will ya?

Great producion quality and story. I like how little you change the charactors, both in looks and in their stories.
And hey, with President Obama, we may just have universal health-care one day.

If Mary-Sue was in office, I beleve people will be more racial since she is Northern Korean (Or Japanese) and Obama is black ._.
