  • good thing in the original movie it was a 68 or 69 camaro that hit the blades of the bull dozer not the challenger. it would be awesome if they did make another 1 they could use a new camaro to hit the bull dozer who knows after the camaro hits the blade it might look better

  • This is a insult to a cult classic.

  • they need to make this movie

  • THATS THE WAY THIS MOVIE SHOULD END!

  • you kill this fucking movie one of thw worlds best movies and now its the worst cause of this u cant make another one u posers this sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wASNT THIS RELATED TO THE MUSIC VIDEO OF AudioSlave-Show me how to live?

  • @Noobkilla99786

No, but now that you mention it, I'll have to take a look at "Show Me How to Live." Thanks.

  • @Noobkilla99786

Just watched it. Actually, Audioslave's music video is related to the movie Vanishing Point, same as this video. Audioslave obviously has good taste in movies and in cars.

  • the only thing that confused the hell out me was the ending he jus drives in to bull dozers and his body aint even in the car

  • i'm waiting for the remake of this great movie!

  • @glferrazzo it already happened sadly and it's a total piss take of the original

  • nice one :)

  • I love this ad, ...and the new Challenger!!!

  • Awesome re-edit! Even used a similar voice as the original 1971 trailer.

  • That was acutally very good!

  • haha, love it :D

  • supposedly director Richard Kelly is working on a 2nd remake. hopefully he'll stick to basics and try and make a faithful reproduction with perhaps some newer twists. nothing too fancy and out of place though. however I still think nothing will replace the original film

  • this kicks the shit out of the actual dodge commercial, which wasnt even bad to begin with

    5 stars

  • Im a crazy mad mopar , aussie sicilian car fan . love the vid dude , FORZA MOPAR HEMI.

  • Not too many great clips of the car itself, I vote for a remake, take a look at the camera angles they used in the original. Most of the shots were dont without even going over 50.

  • yeah, but if they made a remake you know they'd screw it up, and it wouldn't even all be real stunts like the original. It will be like modern chase scenese where the shits movin so fast you cant even tell whats going lol.

  • they already did a remake and it really sucked years ago. The director of the original got lucky with all the car shots in the original and some of those scenes just happened in the original unrehearsed to my understanding. At the rate they were shooting the original, the director did a really really good job slapping it together with the Challenger as the star of the show :) Vanishing Point I'd call a movie as being very original. Sames goes with Duel. Two different directors, great movies

  • yeah I agree, but I was refering to a remake with a new challenger, not necessarily a remake of the movie. I don't think it would work out...different time in my opinion

  • sorry I misread your comment then. Primarily who says there would have to be any acting done whatsoever. Introduce a new souped up car and call it good. Also, put a bunch of no name actors/actresses and you may just pull it off. But in this environmentally green society of ours, who will produce a V10 engine revved car???? Yeah it was a different time and more original. You have to go back to the days of just camera, film, and real shooting locations and get away from computer FX.

  • Well yeah, I perfer the actual stunts, like those in Vanishing Point or Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry. I love those stunts because they aren't fake, and don't move so friggin fast to hide they fact that they are fake. Those 2 are some of my favorite movies. I also don't think a Vanishing Point remake would work now because of how we are pro-government now with Obama and all. Back then it was the complete opposite. That's why they added the wife part in the original remake, being a rebel wasnt enough

  • Yes, the older movies do turn me on a lot. Another good one was Charley Varrick. Take it back aways to '57 and you got Gunfight at the OK Corral with Kurt Douglas as Doc Holliday throwing a knife into a guys chest. The orginal Hitcher with C. Thomas Howell was also another good one, but did spot one major mistake where C. Thomas Howell's car in the movie heals thyself on the rear end :) It all depends on how original directors want to get which can determine a quality movie.

  • A remake would'nt do the original justice.

  • The clip I used, I downloaded using Limewire. Because it's not available in the iTunes store. Ebay would also be a good source. It's "Over Me" by Segarini and Bishop, by the way.

  • Mitc45h-

...Just wanted to say thanks again for effort you provided in producing this....

"F" the folks questioning camera angles; and car color; is it really about that?

    KUDOS to Mitc45h!

An awesome portrayal of NEW vs. OLD; and whom-ever Mitc45h is; made it stick.

    Happy Holidays; y'all-

  • You can find it on ebay

  • Where did you find that song? I've tried finding songs from the original Vanishing Point everywhere and I can't find a single one. Great video by the way, vanishing point is one of my favorite movies.

  • Duel was also another classic, but I liked the story behind Vanishing Point a lot better.

  • vanishing point 08 alright movie?

  • Hell yeah! Well put together. So this time around I see that the Challenger ripped past the bulldozers.

  • hahahahahaha dude i was thinking the same thing

  • MAN!!! I was hopin the challenger would nail those dozers at like 150!!

  • ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING? Dude shut the fuck up u rice rocket driving minority!

    AMERICAN MUSCLE OWNS ALL!

  • But judging by ur name, ur kidding. Right? Hyundai ha! Korean! Pffft. Lol.

Never heard anyone say hyundai is best! Ur the first but I think ur kiddin lol.!

  • that would be a great ad

  • This is AWESOME!

To think I have the Soundtrack on Vinyl, and that OA5599 is listed in my yearbook!

    Thank you Mitc45h !!!!!!

  • Very clever; very well done!

  • Why the hell is the car red? Should be white.

  • Because this was made of footage of Vanishing Point and the 08 Challenger demo videos. For the longest time, Dodge only showed the Challenger in Hemi Orange, and only a week ago did they show it off in all white on video(this video was made nearly 2 monthes ago), and its at a race track so its not that great of footage for a Vanishing Point tribute.

    -Casey Cannon

  • A whie SRT-8 will do the trick

  • whats the name of the song?

  • "Over Me" by Bob Segarini and Randy Bishop.

  • Freakin' awesome, my favorite car, in my favorite movie!!!

  • WIN

  • I agree with the review of this on Edmunds Inside Line. Dodge should produce it, or something damn close, for real. And, my two cents here, hire Quentin Tarantino to direct. He loves the Challenger and the original movie (see "Grindhouse/Death Proof") and would take this concept to the next level. Detroit's coolest car done by Hollywood's coolest director. It'd be the best car commercial on TV, by a quarter-mile.

  • Yeah!!

    COOL!

  • watch?v=xk59ZcYUW6Y

  • The retro look is great, but please substitute the "DODGE" logo for the idiotic Ram's Head on the hood. Thanks!

  • Hey Dodge, Clever clip combination! But how about putting the "DODGE" emblem back on the 2009 hood instead of the dopey Ram's Head Emblem?

  • what the hell was that?

  • shames the movie "Vanishing Point" as well as the original 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. Dodge cashing in on a film Fox didn't even care about is mournfully expectable. director Richard C. Sarafian claims he would have used any sports car at the time. Fox and Dodge had a relationship. it's product placement (watch Transformers). im sure the new car is cool in its own right but its soul is borrowed and thus diluted. in any medium attempting to duplicate an original merely leaves you with a copy

  • ...um....

  • Yeah! The Challenger is back.

  • Gangstah'

  • I enjoyed this, hopefully the remake will be like this.

  • COOOOL!
