Are you sure this is from '72? Watching other vids posted from, say, '69, see him looking and sounding so much younger. Could he possibly have aged so quickly in 3 years? His voice is radically different too.

Wayne Newton is still one of Las vegas's top entertainers. He still has his own casino in Branson near Memphis. He used to play with his brother. He is one of Vegas's top earners even stage of his life. He was very very bis in the Us in the 70's and 80's. still has a massive following in the US

He was a guest star on an old "Bonanza" episode. I was a bonanza fan as a kid. His is not my favorite style of music but you can't deny that he's *very* talented and his fans love him.

Whatever you think of Wayne - he was one of the biggest draws Vegas ever had ... He was Mr Las vegas from around 1975 - 1985 or so ... very successful career

I remember him from Ed Sullivan and other variety shows ... he was great in Vegas vacation playing himself ... not Mr Poppagiorgio !

@infinera06 What do you mean by thatA? I have heard Wayne sing this song in his shows for years and he gave it 110% everytime he sang it. He has a daughter that he raised and was crazy about her. It was a very emotional song for him to sing in his shows since he was raising her as a single parent at the time. He is now happily married and has another daughter by his second wife. He is one of the best entertainers I have ever seen.

@DonBaldy He was born in Virginia, moved to Arizona, and then to Vegas when he was 15. He has performed in Vegas alone for over 50 years. That is why he is the one and only Mr. Las Vegas!!!!

I remember this song even as a young girl it made me cry cause I wanted my Daddy so bad but he left us when I was 5 and I had two younger brothers at the time and my Mom was pregnant with a third brother. I dreamed of him coming back and when i was 15 he did. however he was a stranger by then and I knew he was my Dad but i did know him.

@CauliflowerClown This song came out when I was 11; Dad left when I was 8. I had a younger brother and sister; mom was pregnant with their fourth child. I also kept thinking he would come back; when he and his new wife kidnapped us a year later, I would have given anything to get back to Mom. Laws are different now. This song still calls to the little eight year old girl in me and I am 50.
