I see you have Clara Bow in this. She was a Fantastic actress. It was the studios who pushed her into the "Sex Symbol" category along with all its lousy scripts. I forget the name of the silent film - but she plays a counter girl in a large department store and she gets involved with the store owner... Fantastic, Fun Film : ) *****
Wow - if one video really fits this song it's yours. Absolutely high classed compilation of pictures. Really love the fashion and lifestyle of that days of yore.
One thing I really like is that white town's "your woman" is the girl's answer to Al Bowly's "my woman" .
Took most exactly 60 years 'til white town made this masterpiece ;-)
Love the video, I've had a soft spot for the song since it came out, and as silent film fan, I love the tribute, especially since you include a pic from one of my favorite silent films, "The Unknown" at a minute into this video
I really like it, well done :D ! thumbs up. To be honest was searching for this song but didnt know the title, and I end up crossing this video glad I did :)
dude that was from, like, the 1920's to the 1930's, a time of the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression. You must have put more work into that video, including the song, than ever before. I love this song!!!!!!
WOW!! Valerie xcellent job!! You're right, the words match the pictures perfect!! Thank you for sending this to me, I LOVE IT!!I'm very PROUD OF YOU!!!!
AHA Thank you!!! This is one of the coolest songs out there. I rememeber when I heard the song years later and images of classic photos came flowing in my mind, stuff like that. So glad you liked it.
hey man ,thanx for posting this, this track from the first time i heard it.just fuckin stayed with me,ive no idea why, just a really good fuckin tune and melody, cool as... later people;)
Well I have just never got to comment, I just joined a littel morer than a week ago. I love waching this from time to time. What is the name of the song? It's a relly cool song! I don't think I have ever hered it befor I saw your awsome video.
Oh, cool, welcome to Youtube:) The name of the song is, 'Your Woman' by a one hit wonder singer, White Town. Came out in the nineties. You can find the original video to that song on youtube also.
Just look at these Stars of the silent film era, they had such presence and knew how to use it! Unlike the some of the stars today who resort to cheap antics to get noticed. There will never be another Buster,Rudolf,Charlie,Errol,or Gary Cooper. And then the ladies are too many to speak of, but Greta,Jean,Lillian,Josephine Baker are gone. Thanks for the great pictures.
I'm so sorry I missed these questions and comments, we were having problems with comments being received and sent for a while :( That image is John Boles (Love him!) and Gloria Swanson from the movie, 'The love of Sunya' 1927.
Yes, the song makes this even more enjoyable! Did I see an image of actor, "Fatty Arbuckle" in there? - not sure, but if he is, you might wanna think of removing it - wasn't he convicted of brutalizing a female? sorry to rain on the parade - the video is still great! Thanks!
TwentiesDOLL12213 and GDLR- I stand corrected... found an interesting account about Roscoe Arbuckle's trial and he was never convicted. See articles on yahoo, etc.--a very interesting story and quite a talent in his day until the trial ruined his prospects for future work (he was highest paid actor at time- more than Keaton!)
Thanks for the info, My sister and I talked it over and she felt so bad because those two pics of fatty and the woman went well together, however I understood your previous point. He's also in the 2nd Pic, as one of the keystone cops.
I really like this...and I love Rudolph Valentino! The silent films are so often forgotten anymore--that was what you call acting, really, since they had to rely so much on expression and actions. Great slide show!
