Among Volkswagen Beetle guys this condition is known as "Ratte", which means rat in English. It's used for cars that are pretty ruff around the edges. Like this work truck.
poor truck D=.... mine looked alot worse, the previous owner hit a deer, and i'm only 18 trying to restore it to the original, plus some upgrades, but i'm only using factory corvair options, except patching holes =p i have to custom make plates and weld them
Thanks for the help Andrew!! Got a kick out of your video. It made it, not without blowing off the muffler 5 miles before getting home!! (In fine Corvair tradition...) After talking to you, I'm seriously considering just preserving it and not painting it.
dude why do u do this to people? i hope i see u looking at mine one day!!!!!

They sold well, but GM didn't make much money compared to Ford. Theirs was simpler, and cheaper!

Well, you can't find many Corvair Rampsides around these days, so if you see any of these, no matter what condition they're in, they're priceless.

It's like a painting, can't touch it without ruining it. Does that make sense?

I always liked those never had the chance to buy one though!

I might buy this one. It broke the starter, we changed it at 10:PM, and broke again. So I towed it around the parking lot 'till she fired!
CORVAIRWILD 3 years ago
It wasn't a new starter you put in threr then? It looks like a nice find could make quit a nice truck when restored.
